The one redeeming star goes to the server who tried her best! Food was lukewarm, limp, and generally unappealing nevertheless, I don't cook Chinese food, so I guess it was better than my own... the beef didn't look very perky and tasted a little slimy in texture. It was overall just a not very good meal in a quite outdated and rundown decor of a place. Portion sizes were very small, which is not really something you expect from Chinese food, right? I've never actually seen yellow pork fried rice... Tasted a bit like dishwater. But as I said, the server did her best.

The car!

We were driving thru Florence on our way home, and decided to get some lunch before stopping in Eugene. Our original plan was to try Hukilau again, but the line was so long that we decided to try Ichiban instead. To be honest, the sole reason I chose Ichiban was because of the pictures on Yelp! When I saw a picture of the vintage car in the dining room, i thought I'd be a fool not to check it out! When we arrived, there was no one around except two Asian ladies (owners?) in the dining area. They quickly greeted us and took our order right away. I ordered the spider roll, while my boyfriend ordered the lunch bento box special. Since it's covid time, we were not allowed to dine in. However, the owner allowed us to wait in the room with the vintage car! (Yes, I sat in that car and had my boyfriend take pics). It felt a bit unreal to sit in a pink room with a car covered with the orange flames. My boyfriend and I came up a bunch of conspiracies how the car ended up there, and we (mostly me) agreed it was worth stopping in for! Since we were there for the car, we had very little expectations for the food. I think my spider roll was alright, everything was fresh and well wrapped. It's not sushi house quality but pretty decent. However, we were impressed by their bento special! Everything was delicious and the honey chicken blew my boyfriend away! "I really like the honey chicken!" He said", and i replied "I know." The chicken was hot and crunchy, while the sauce has this honey like taste. According to my boyfriend, it's like orange chicken but more subtle and delicious! I'm a picky eater for authentic Chinese cooking, but I also appreciate a good Chinese-American restaurant, since it's part of the American culinary heritage. This place has a great bento box which come with tons of delicious Chinese staples (stir-fried noodles/rice, tempura shrimps, and of course the delicious honey chicken!) and THE CAR! I'd recommend both to anyone who seeks a good Chinese-American bento and a quirky old school diner feel!

This is not chow fun.

Disappointed. I ordered chow fun. That means flat, thin noodles. Instead I got what looks like spaghetti pasta. Very little sauce or chicken. Very little taste. Ordered take out, so I didn't bother driving across town to complain. My wife got cashew chicken. It was okay. Just okay. The dog even turned his nose away from it. Don't think we'll be back anytime soon.

The only reason I'm not giving this restaurant 5 stars is the lack of ambiance. Food, service & value for your $ was all 5 stars. This is not a sushi restaurant. They are doing "dine" in during COVID. Limited space. Friendly service. It looks like they want to have a sushi bar. But maybe it's too much? Seems like a sweet family business. They have a full bar with fancy cocktails. Several types of Asian beers. Sake & plum wine also. Easy to find right off 101.

I've been here (only for lunch) several times. This is a sprawling restaurant with a full menu of both Japanese and Chinese dishes. Plenty of lunch special combos priced moderately. I usually get the sushi or sashimi combo plates, sometimes with a couple of nigiri sushi ala carte. Surprisingly fresh and tasty fish for a small town country restaurant. Friendly service and nice presentation too. A different section of the restaurant has a full bar that gets lively at times. Recommended stop if you're pas

Saba nigiri and yellowtail sashimi

This place is awesome! Fantastic service and great food...I totally recommend it! The sake is yummy and extra hot. Take a look yourself. They also have a full bar.

We had Bento #5. Delicious as usual and the service was excellent! We also purchased a bottle of their delicious salad dressing.

Really, Really good meal here. I got green bean chicken stir fry rather than a mix veg option at the waiters recommendation.

See the previous reviews about poor service. That has changed! Two ladies worked the floor as a team and did quite well and were also very nice. Now for the foods... 1-Curry fried rice: It has barely any curry flavor at all. Put in some spice to kick it up please! The chicken was tender and the amount in this dish is adequate. B- 2-Fried shrimp: Perfectly battered. Shrimp was largish inside too. No real tail means you get a full meal deal with these! A+ 3-Mar Far Chicken: I like to call them Chinese chicken nuggets. Alas, there was no orange sauce on the side or on the chicken. Nothing special but not dreadful. C 4-BBQ Pork: I have had better and I have had worse. C 5-Shrimp egg rolls: Where's the shrimp? Where's the flavor? With no high quality soy sauces to add some flavor, these were not so hot. C- 6-Tea: They serve oolong tea, which is my fave! A Price for 2 meals and appetizers: $77. PF Chang's would clean this place's clock and charge no more but we do not have that option in CB-NB. 4 stars might be a bit generous but at least this place is better than Lucky Star when it comes to food. My friend ordered Kung Pao Chicken and cleaned his plate so add that into the mix. We will go back and now that we know Tai's Dynasty's strong and weak points, odds are it will be a satisfactory meal.

It was originally in a small eatery on the bay but we prefer it's current location at the north end of Newport because there is more room than at the previous location Gentleman wait staff was quick and efficient. Very pleasant and yet not chatty. My husband ordered the Special Seafood Pot as usual. That is his favorite dish and it did not disappoint. The delicious broth flavored mussels, shrimp, rockfish, clams, oysters, and scallops. His hot and sour soup was quite good, and fairly hot spice-wise. I had vegetable low mein, fried shrimp, crab rangoon and an egg roll. It was probably the best low mein I've ever had. The noodles were so flavorful and delicious. Veg included green beans, carrots, bean sprouts and cabbage. The rangoon was my favorite kind, with cream cheese and imitation crab. Though some people prefer real crab, I don't and prefer imitation. The only complaint I had was that I thought my Arnold Palmer tea was abysmal. It tasted like powdered lemonade meets powdered tea. As always, we enjoyed dinner and will continue to make Kam Meng's our #1 go-to spot for dinner when we are in Newport and wanting something other than fried seafood.
