I am not sure how to rate this bar. Should I rate it as a crapy dive bar, or a local hang out with local "flare..." it's definitely a dive bar that the locals go to to get drunk. They had karaoke the night we went. I think everyone was drunk and having fun singing their hearts out. The bartender was friendly and knew how to handle the drunk people without making them mad. She was good. We got their late, so the food options were limited and finished the fired chicken without getting sick. I will give it four stars instead of three because I would go there again, or should that be three stars instead of two... I will stick with four stars... read more

Awesome local watering hole. Came early Saturday evening. Cheap beer. Ordered the Rueben burger and clam strips with cold slaw. Came together, ate the strips and 'sidewinders' first and burger was STILL hot when I dug in. Locals coming through were friendly, had machines to play on, people winning money, pool tables and patio seating. All in all, a great experience. Wanted to try the a variety of fish and wasn't disappointed. Coming from Napa Valley area and it's always a treat to try another version of crab cakes. Crab cakes not in picture because we ate them first. Jerry's was packed when we first arrived so it was understandable our order took some time to get to us; drinks were complimentary which is unexpected these days. Great customer service! Their Facebook is misleading, it offers "limited family dining" like most bars and grills do where there is a space and time slot for minors to be able to eat there. However, they do not allow children anywhere on the premises. The man we talked to made sure we knew how illegal it was to take them there. It's a small town with very limited options for food after 8pm. I would have ordered takeout, but I didn't enjoy the confrontation. I truly didn't know they did not have a space for minors as I have not come across that. read more

Arrived late on a weeknight for just a beer. Was so happy they had a truly delicious local dark!! We also enjoyed sitting outside by a fire pit and nice couch spaces. This is totally a "neighborhood" come as you are bar. We went there on a Sunday around 5:00 and the place was packed. We were lucky to find a table. This is a no frills bar and you order at the bar too. Prices are reasonable. Food was good. The one bartender was waiting on the whole place and he was doing a fantastic job. I'll post here as I want to give some context to another review about families. The restaurant is basically a bar - pool, slots, etc. There's a good reason kids are not allowed inside. The service and food is always great at Jerry's. They have kept prices moderate and don't charge extra for using a credit card.

This was just typical bar food quality. We went because it was recommended for fried gizzards and my husband was wanting them. The price however was spendy..... $15 I believe. Not outstanding or any cause to make it worth the cost. I had a sandwich can't recall which one as this was awhile ago. Its was ok. Service was good. Did not realize there was outdoor seating until getting ready to leave. Seemed like a nicer area than in the front where we came in. We recently visited when we were staying nearby at Heceta Beach RV Park! Thank you for accommodating us and our dog, Joni, on the outdoor patio on a particularly not-so-great day weather-wise. Loved the burger clam strips, and especially the sidewinders, while Joni greatly appreciated the bacon from the chef. Not sure the name of the woman owner but when my husband and I were in there she was very rude and disrespectful , we will Not be going back. The bartender she was nice. This place was really, a surprise. It's just steps off the Heceta Beach in Florence OR. The outdoor patio is nice, but this is also where the smokers gather - if that's your thing. Inside has lots of old wood, and weathered charm. The bartender and servers were friendly enough, though I wouldn't say they were overly accommodating (which for me is just fine). Our food was the surprise - I expected greasy gross fried yucky barely figure out what I just ate. Instead the fried food we ordered was crispy, non-greasy, and great! We each had some fish and chips (recommend) and some jalapeno poppers. A lot of locals come here, and the prices are more like old-school Florence and not upscale Florence. read more

I can't believe we decided to give them a second chance. We had one beer a piece... The bar tender, Scott, served the table next to us. The key word here is... SERVED! As Scott walked by our table, we asked for another round, and he told us, "I'm not a cocktail waitress. You have to come to the bar." How rude! Both my boyfriend and I are long-time bar tenders from back in the day. If we had treated customers like that... we would have been fired! Jerry's Place is awesome!! There are few places left in the world where you walk in and feel the 'hang out' vibe as quick as you do here. There is a large pool room, bar, tables for sit down eating, slot machines and a gorgeous patio. I eat the black bean burger and fries when I come here and it is always excellent. Duncan, the bartender, is the locals favorite for a reason: he rocks. Good guy, very fast and very friendly. There is a beachy local haunt vibe to the place that is not unwelcoming to visitors or tourists. Just the opposite. Everytime I have been in it has been a good mix of folks having fun. I highly recommend it! I think a trip to the beach in the Heceta area is not the same without a stop off in here. read more

A whole lot of YES! in one place. Where to start? Super friendly staff, delicious pub food served in generous portions. I had a pint of Blue Moon with a juicy orange slice and it was *perfect*. We sat outdoors, and the staff was all masked up. There were customers inside at the bar and that's cool - but having options for less contact was amazing. We were the only ones outside when we were there, except for an angry squirrel that was yelling at something, but I'm pretty sure it had nothing to do with the restaurant. Would definitely visit again! I had the BLAT with jojos, and my husband had the chicken wrap with tater tots - both were good. I think I enjoyed my BLAT more than my husband liked his wrap, but I was hungry and the beer went so well with it that it added that little *extra* so basically I left a happy girl. read more

I felt only a little out of place amongst the seemingly local clientele, but everyone was nice! I didn't get any rude-staring vibes, only curious glances and smiles returned when I dished them out. This is the home of a one-barrel brewery called "What'cha Brewing" which is hilarious to me. They had two beers on tap at Jerry's, one of which was a Jalapeno...ale? We couldn't decide what it was supposed to be. What we could decide on was that it was delicious! At 8%, it wasn't spicy at all, not very hoppy, but interestingly malty. Found this gem by accident! It's a bar that is super clean, friendly staff and great food. They even have a couple of pool tables, TVs, a jukebox you can play from your cell. We have been to Kerry's place 4 times in 7 days! A dive bar atmosphere with an outdoor patio too!! read more

Jerrys's Place. Hmmmm. I am in full support of local businesses. I and an 9 other friends were in Florence shooting a commercial. Jerry's Place was recommended as a place to have a great lunch with a good atmosphere. That recommendation was 100% wrong. My girlfriend was greeted with less than hospitality about her service animal. She suffers a heart condition and the said pet is trained and licensed. The establishment owner (Karl) approached our group of 10 and verbally attacked her about her dog. He asked (legal) if he was a service animal. She responded with yes and I have his paperwork. The owner replied back, well you obviously are not blind or deaf so what is your disability ( illegal). He was as unprofessional, crude, rude and disgruntled as any food industry person I've seen. He encited the negative comments and unhospitable acts ofthe local patrons of the subject. The Bartender working with him was obviously embarrassed and tried to defuse the situation, but was hushed by (Karl). There are many reasons people use service animals. Blindness, PTSD, deafness, anxiety, diabetes, heart conditions, training of service animals, epilepsy, and sever tremors. I would wager that the owner Karl is more than likely not versed in those disabilities. That establishment lost out on $300 tab and tips for the service. The level of unprofessional actions were the reason im putting this up. read more

Comparable to most bars , drop the grill and you've found a place for average drinks and karaoke. The staff was nice enough but the food was not their strong suit. The place does not welcome minors at any point in the day . And the atmosphere isn't lively . The food is comparable to overpriced happy hour food at low quality. read more

One time you eat here and the food is pretty good for bar food, the next time it's complete crap. This is about the 5th time I've got cold, shitty food and skimpy portions and I'm sick of it. Last time I ate there it was an awesome burger with tons of toppings, ordered the exact same thing tonight and it is the skimpiest most pathetic looking burger I've seen. McDonald's would be ashamed to serve this crap. Not sure what the massive difference is between cooks, but it's just not acceptable to have to play the lottery on whether you'll get good food with good portions, or some worthless asshat who puts nothing on the burger and skimps the fries on the side. This place provided friendly service and good food to a couple o' tourists looking for a night out. Definitely had the feel of a place catering to locals so the friendly faces at the bar when we ordered were appreciated! I had the clam strips and my boyfriend had a burger and it was all good! The outdoor seating area is cozy. Karaoke inside had a few diehard fans going at it. A good place and worth a visit for those staying in that nook of Florence! read more
