This is the first seafood restaurant I've been to where the seafood was old & bland. Two orders of shrimp both had a weird old taste to them with the flavor of lemon squeezed on top and a stench. The cheeseburger looked like old laboratory meat. The BLT salmon had not one pinch of salt or pepper. The salmon looked big and juicy but was in fact thin & dry. Not to mention my side of broccoli was cold, so cold that the butter they added to it was clumped up at the bottom of the dish. The only saving grace was the waitress who was accommodating & attentive. We made sure to tip her very well because we knew that the food being not to our satisfaction was out of her control. It was our first visit and dinner there. We ordered crab cake and soft shell crab sandwiches, both under $20. Reasonable prices when compared to Timbuktu which is now pretty expensive, and large portions are served. The negative is the loudness of people talking at the bar which can be heard in the dining room. Plus, a 17 percent tip is automatically added to all checks, not just large parties. Service was HORRIBLE. The waitress came by twice to check on us and both times she left before we could answer her question, "How are you doing?" After we finished eating we waited about a half an hour to pay and the waitress never returned. I had to walk around the restaurant to find the manager, Farjd to pay. I have supported Mo's Seafood for close to 3 decades. The last 2 visits were hellish to say the least. Both times the wait staff was slow, rude and unapologetic for their behavior. Today. my mother and I sat unattended for 20 minutes while patrons arrived AFTER us received immediate attention. Waiter after waiter made excuses as to why we weren't able to get served. After feeling invisible we decided to leave. While explaining our dissatisfaction to the Manager he seemed uninterested. He apologized but didn't offer a resolve, he just watched us leave. I cannot begin to express how disappointed and disrespected we felt. We had the opposite experience at Papas Seafood ( 5 mins away). The staff was very attentive and friendly. Mo's never disappoints us! I love how large their menu is. We came in for happy hour and really enjoy the food and drink specials that are on their happy hour menu. Their happy hour is pretty early (2-6) to be exact. We had the buffalo combo which is one of the frequented items on the menu for us whenever we visit! It's always really delicious. The bartender who finished, not started, us was great! Very attentive and checked in multiple times to ensure we were good and weren't in need of anything. We love Mo's Seafood in Towson! This was my go-to spot after work in the Towson area, so if you're ever around to enjoy happy hour, I'd encourage to add this spot to your must-visit list. It's not a place with all the frills, but the food is GREAT with huge portions and the drink specials are always a must-try. I've been here for the steak and shrimp special, the crab dip, and also the fried shrimp appetizer and they've all been tasty! I didn't catch any pictures of the drinks, but trust me, they are delicious. I had it all planned to go to Mo's for Valentine's Day [2024] for take out. I called ahead to see how long the wait was. A gentleman answered the phone and stated that it would be about 25 minutes. Pick up service is excellent. The crabs cakes are very good. I've ordered fried shrimp that were better though. The dinner comes with an excellent healthy salad. Big chunks of veggies but it can be cut up into smaller pieces if you prefer. Price of the dinners are good in comparison to other similar seafood restaurants. I went in for a lb of crab meat (went up $2 in two days??). I had to go into the restaurant, never told why carry out was closed or when it would reopen. The restaurant was very crowded, Saturday mid afternoon. There was no spacing between patrons. They met the 50% seating capacity because they had rooms that were closed. One 50 seat room closed, one 50 seat room open and filled to capacity (easier for servers I guess) makes their fill 50%. Not fair to patrons. I liked the crab meat for recipes but became disgusted with the restaurant about 10 years ago. Thinking I will maintain my distance with the place. The food was unexpectedly really good! The menu is very extensive and overwhelming. We ordered the calamari, oysters, crab cake entree and salmon BLT. The calamari portion was HUGE! They were the perfect consistency, but the batter was more tempura-like and very greasy. My friend said the crab cakes were "okay" but they were enormous! I really enjoyed the salmon BLT but was disappointed that they hadn't made any seafood macaroni salad; the cole slaw was an adequate substitute. The fries were really good also. read more

I meeeean... I like the crab legs but there is something a little off about the place. I guess I have to come to peace with the fact that it's a seafood and the smell is a little off. Other than that, the wait staff is pretty good. Some days are definitely better than others. The consistency of service can definitely be improved. I've gone with a large group before and the service was good. They accommodated we'll for the number of ppl in the group (we had differing arrival and departure times). I have read a lot of the previous reviews and just don't understand them. First things first. The food we have ordered here is delicious. From the salmon imperial to the steam pots and crab cakes and the steak special on Sundays. We have made it our place to go on weekends for lunch. Portions are huge and the price is right. The staff we have come to know by name and love their service. They are all friendly and helpful stopping to ask if we need anything, even if they are not our server at the time. The 20 % added gratuity? I can't blame them for that as so many don't want to tip at all. I was a server years ago and often times we even add more to it. read more

I'm a long- time Mo's customer. Going back at least 20 years. Previously, it had been consistently good. I've never had a complaint or sent a meal back. I very recently ordered 2 jumbo lump crab cakes to go. They were horrible. Too much filler, not even sure they were even Md blue crab. The worst part is that they had a sour taste. I don't know if the filler they used was sourdough bread or just some nasty artificial flavor. I called to find out details for a reservation for a large party. I was asked roughly how many people and answered with approximately 20 people. I was told that I was going to have to rent the room and placed on hold. The manager Michael (probably a fake name) picked up and I asked how much the room was for rental and he told me $300.00. I proceeded to ask what was the minimum number of people that I could have without renting the room and he told me that I needed to know how many people. He kept interjecting and before I could ask another question he hung the phone up. I called back to ask why he hung up and he said that he didn't want my business. I asked him why and he kept saying I needed to know how many people. After nearly going back and forth for about 2 minutes he states a party over 8 would have to rent the room. I asked him why he was being so rude and the conversation went left and ended with him stating fuck you before he slammed the phone down again! Before he hung up, I asked for the owner information and he could not provide this! As a black woman to be told that he didn't want my business is disheartening. Man so I've eaten at the pretty commercial place Phillips and it was my fav till I hung out with the locals and found this place. Everything was delicious. They are a little pricey but it was worth every bit. We got the crab cake and scallops special and wow they killed it! So good! I'm only giving it two stars due to the service my friend and I arrived at almost 4 pm on a Sunday placed out appetizer and drink order and by 4:30 still nothing but the hard bread and water so I had to get up and go to the bar to order our drinks. My wife and I first time at this location however The doors opened at 11:00am and were greeted and seated immediately. Our server Mr. Steve was awesome with his service. He greeted us and told us his name and he was attentive to us but not overwhelming. He made sure our order was right and when it was delivered it was fresh and hot. Delicious food and great service. We ordered Salmon Imperial and grilled Cod stuffed Imperial. Food was expertly seasoned, fresh and amazing. Imperial is stuffed with crab, shrimp and scallops. Order the SMALL. It is more than enough. The beer battered onion rings are homemade and delicious. Mashed sweet potatoes are sweet, buttery and cinammony. Amber is the perfect server. It came out hot and steamy and there was so much food we couldn't finish it all. And by golly did we try to finish it all. It was a belt buster!! Came here on recommendation from a friend. Let me start by saying that I love shrimp. Not crazy about crab or lobster. So I was surprised to see they have a shrimp boil on special. I ordered it. My buddy got the lobster steamer pot. He outright loves lobster....which fits the bill since he grew up in Maine. When our food came....I was in love. My plate was the size of a steering wheel and was piled high with shrimp, sausage and all the fixins. These shrimp were huge!!!
