Food was excellent BUT their was a wedding which is fine. But the bride groom and some of the guests passed people at sitting and dining WITHOUT MASKS!! the hostess etc said nada. Very very wrong. Another outstanding meal but why only 4 stars when the last time it was 5. Well, last time was actually 4.5 and I rounded it to 5 but as my CPA friend pointed out, 5 stars should be reserved for perfection and since it wasn't perfect my last rating should have only been 4 stars. In either event, I highly recommend this restaurant. Friendly greeting, sincere farewell and everything in between made this an excellent dining experience. It wasn't as noisy as last time but it may not have been as crowded either. In fact, most of the noise was coming from my loud talking friend. For an appetizer, we had two orders of the grilled octopus and it was great as was the grilled pineapple that was also on the plate. Or was it grilled calamari? Whatever it was, it was great. Our salads were all fine although I still hate the upcharge here and any other place that does it for anchovies on a Caesar. We followed our server Luis' suggestion on the wine and he led us right. He was terrific all night with everything. Four of us had the branzino special which was nicely plated with spinach, cherry tomatoes and some other chopped "fixings". It was lacking in some flavor as I would have liked it with a little more oomph. Mrs. Yankee-Giant fan ordered the blackened salmon from the prix fixe menu and Mr. CPA had a chicken special that looked good. Have I mentioned yet that they have incredible bread basket? Went here because we had a taste for chicken parm. It turned out to be average. The more fascinating thing about this place is my gf was in the bathroom stall and apparently they have the full menu on the back of the door so when your making room you can see what you want to eat. Good food, reasonably priced and fresh. Wait staff is new and inexperienced however and appears to be more interested in volume of people rather than quality of service to them. As a couple we were ignored at times do to poor time management by te wait staff so that drinks went empty and dirty plates were left longer than normal after we were finished eating. Having been in the business for many years I was disappointed when I consider the type of restaurant this is. Minor yet consistent adjustments can improve all of these traits. One very good example the staff can learn from was the bar tender, a woman who was on her game, ready to please very professional. I recommend this restaurant yet hope my next visit proves to be a memorable one versus a critical one. read more

Went here to celebrate my birthday. The food was delicious and the service was very good. My only concern was that a credit card was required to secure our reservation through Open Table. I can understand this, but then I realized that if we canceled with in 3 days of our reservation that we would be charged $25 per person! This seems extreme during a pandemic. What if someone in our party came down with COVID? I understand charging for a no call/no show, but this policy is basically encouraging people to go to the restaurant sick so they won't be charged. read more

I had never been here and recently came with friends. The food and service was very good. An attractive room with a variety of choices for dinner and a nice wine list with a varied choice of wines. There was entertainment there which takes over the restaurant around 9:00? Only weekends? At that point it felt like a 55 and older community meeting. Yesterday was my first time ever going to this restaurant. It's a nice get-a-way for all the chain restaurant and fast food joints lining Route 22. The restaurant was highly recommended by my boyfriend so I finally made him take me. We went for a late lunch (~2:30pm) and there was only one other large table of business people. The service was fast and efficient. We ordered the Broccoli Rabe Con Salsiccia as an appetizer, and the Pollo Martini and Pollo Alla Parmigiana as our entrees. They have an amazing bread basket with crust Italian bread, foccocia, crunchy bread sticks, and crisp toast. I loved it all! The Broccoli Rabe Con Salsiccia was great. By the time our entrees came we were stuffed but managed to push through. We both eat half and I took the leftovers home for dinner. After trying both entrees I was really impressed with the overall quality of the food. Our bill was $50 (including the items listed above and 2 sodas). I think is expensive for lunch but I would definitely go back. I am now torn between this place and Mario's Tutto Bene. The food is great at both but Mario's has the awesome sorbet in between your salad and entrée but Mosaico's ambiance is much better, therefore I gave them both 4 stars. read more

Mosaico is a nice Italian option, especially if you don't feel like dealing with tricky downtown parking in the area. The service is great and the restaurant looks recently updated. They offer traditional Italian dishes as well as some excellent specials. Last time I was there I had a really good grilled shrimp salad with goat cheese and fresh veggies. Long established Italian restaurant with a devoted clientele--unfortunately, be prepared for crowds and lots of noise on weekends as a result. I had one very good dinner here and two only ok ones. Staff is always very attentive, especially to regulars. It is not BYO, which I find a significant competitive disadvantage, especially vs. nearby Theresa's in Westfield and La Foccaccia and Anna's in Summit, which I also think have better food. read more

My parents threw my bridal shower here last week in the outdoor room and we couldn't have been more pleased! The wait staff was amazing, they were on top of everything. No on ever felt like they needed something, there was always someone there refilling drinks or providing service. Even in the 100 degree weather! The food was amazing! We usually like the food at Mosaico, and I'm not sure if I just haven't had it in a while and forgot just how good it was but, everything was so delicious! We had salads to start, then penne vodka (which was sooo good), then a choice of salmon, steak, or chicken Marsala. I got the chicken and it was great! And the steaks weren't just slices or cuts of steak, you got a whole steak! I can't say enough good things about this place. We had this party on the hottest day of the year and that didn't stop Mosaico from over delivering on delicious food and phenomenal service. Will be back!! read more

Came for dinner with two girlfriends. We ordered a bottle of wine. Had a Caesar salad which was good with homemade (raw egg) Caesar dressing but could have been great if it wasn't so heavily dressed and had some Parmesan shavings. For my main, I had the Vitello Blanco- veal scallopini in a white wine sauce, asparagus, fennel and cherry tomatoes. It was good but the sauce was too watery. Service was great but the dinner was pricey so I'm not sure if I would return. Definitely prefer the BYO places. read more

However, our party of 8 chose outdoor dining/seating, due to the pandemic, very transmissible delta virus, whether vaccinated or not (there are breakthrough infections (I work at a hospital. The wait staff served us, closely, without masks, when pouring wine and serving entrees. One member of our party has a relative with Covid 19 on a ventilator, so we were more conscious of celebrating a Birthday outdoors. When I called the next day & asked to speak w/the Manager, a lady named Lisa acted as the "manager". She said staff & customers are vaccinated, but they can't be sure w/customers, not can we know for sure if staff is actually vaccinated! She is misinformed & ignorant of the spread of this virus & GovernorMurphy's Law, to wear masks, if within 6 feet (indoors or outdoors! Went to Mosaico for Valentine's day dinner. Had grilled Salmon and Penne Vodka Pasta and other Italian items. All were made fresh and served fresh. The service was excellent. In spite the restaurant being so full, we got everything we wanted on time. The best thing, I liked was they didn't do price gouging as it was Valentine's day night. Week ago I had a chance to celebrate my baby shower in Mosaico. I reserved their private room and asked several times if we had all room and the answer was "yes". So, everything was fine from the very beginning despite annoying waiter, who always asked, wondering, why we were still working on our meal and every minute if we're ok, which was extremely annoying. Near 6pm when we took some photos almost 5-7 waitresses were standing and staring at us, which was literally uncomfortable. At 6.30pm I don't know who was it an owner or supervisor, came and said that we had time till 7pm because they would have another party there (at that moment we haven't had our cake and coffee yet). I said that we didn't discuss the time and it's not professional to inform me 30min before. That person said that it was evidentially that we must finish our celebrating because my party consists of 10 people ONLY. I even didn't have time to open my presents. I was very disappointed. And really I would never celebrate any events there! We had to pay 20% tips, but truly they didn't earn it! The service was awful and the meals were not so special. read more

Went there for my birthday dinner with 2 other guests. The restaurant was literally empty at 530pm on a Sunday. It was strange and kind of awkward being the only ones there. We ordered a few things for all to share. The Gnocchi special came out and was delicious. We ordered a chicken dish but when it arrived we realized it was completely a different dish then we ordered. We had already started cutting into it and tasting it before realizing it wasn't what we ordered. The waitress apologized and brought us the correct meal. Sadly, she took away the wrong meal. Why? To throw away? We already touched it, might as well have left it. I thought that was rude. No compensation was given for double wait and mistake. Our chicken dish came out and as we cut into it, noticed it was RAW. RAW.... picture attached. Needless to say, we had had enough of our dinner experience and didn't stay for dessert. My wife and I dine here often, and we have never been disappointed. The service is friendly, the wait staff excellent and our meals have always been excellent. But I want to add something else for locals. Their take out service is exemplary. We have used it many times. When you call an order in they always know our name. Even at busy times our meal is ready for pickup in 10-15 minutes. They are way quicker than your chinese or pizza take out! Really excellent. But two other items we love. When you don't dine in you get a courtesy 15% discount on the meal, and you get a complete selection of bread. You get just as much as they put in the basket on the table. And we love the bread, my favorite the thin crunchy garlic toast. So for good food, very friendly staff, and the bonus of excellent takeout when you can't dine in this has become our old reliable. read more

Went there for Bday dinner and food was not four star quality. Bread was salty, grilled calamari appetizer was over cooked and chewy. Main courses were not good. Ordered ribeye steaks medium rare, instead they were cooked "black and blue", ruined good meat. Wife had shrimp scampi pasta which had just 4 pieces of shrimp, same qty as shrimp cocktail appetizer but costs more. Had the flounder special, garlic used on topping was barley cooked and still raw, had too much onion on salsa topping, both garlic and onion over powered a good fresh fish... It's better if you get a reservation during the weekends, there's always a lot of people. The service is great and the servings are average, not too large. For this past experience, the salmon was really good, the corn was a little dry though. The chicken under brick isn't a huge serving but is very filling. The deserts are good, even if you order just the fruit, it comes with a nice almond brittle cup which you can eat. The prices are high, but worth it for special events. read more
