We stumbled across this place in Yelp and thought we'd give it a try. We were struggling with what to order and the waitress gave us several recommendations and answered all our questions. We ended up having the Sicilian style pizza (half Hawaiian and half pepper, pepperoni, and mushrooms). The dough was soft and crispy at the edges. Just perfect. Some of the ingredients could have benefitted from being cooked a little more (mushrooms, pineapples, and peppers). The pizza was really cheesy and it complemented the pizza dough well. FYI the Stromboli's are made fresh every morning but you're unable to make substitutions. But now let's just to good stuff! The cannoli! The cream in the cannoli was absolutely amazing. The texture was the perfect viscosity (creamy enough to melt in your mouth but thick enough to stay on the shell). The shell was crispy, which is impressive considering the creaminess of the inside. I'd probably add more chocolate chips to it but over all it amazing. I highly recommend! All the staff was friendly and delightful. It's obvious they enjoyed their job and wanted their customers to enjoy their experience. And the owners have a baby on the way! Congrats to Baby Moschello! Don't let the outside location fool you. My favorite place to get pizza hands down. I mean just look at this calzone!!! The picture doesn't even do it justice. It was huge! After having a basket of their hot delicious fries I was able to eat only half of this delicious beast and take the other half home to devour later. I've had some of their dinners before as well, but I admit I usually come for the NY style pizza. I know you've heard it before, but their pizza really is NY style. The crust is the perfect balance of crunchy, crusty, and chewy. I never throw the crust away, ever. The crust is as delicious as the whole thing. The cheese and sauce melt together beautifully and you can taste the quality in every bite. The ingredients taste like they are supposed to. I can't say enough how much I appreciate Moschello's because in this area you're very lucky to find a restaurant or two that puts out delicious quality food. The wait staff is nice also and I always ask if Dave is making the pizza. It's always good, but when Dave makes it it's always a little something extra for some reason. This is the best pizza I have had outside of New York or Chicago. The crust is excellent, just the right level of chewy. Sauces and toppings were very good. They had a nice selection of toppings, and plenty of other pasta dishes, soups, and salads. The staff is 5 star. Even though the place was busy, they managed to construct a table and find chairs for 10 people. We were in town for the weekend and stopped in for a slice of cheese(that's how we judge a new Italian joint). The woman offered us the special of 2 slices for $2 and we both really enjoyed them, so we decided we would come back for dinner. The woman we spoke to was very friendly both times we encountered her. We ordered a cheese pizza and the CHICKEN A LA MOSCHELLOand O.M.G...we were blown away! It came with a pasta of our choosing and the portion was very generous, which was a good thing because we were both fighting over this dish! The pizza was so fresh and cooked perfectly. We are so happy we found this place, and we are SOOOO bummed we live so far away and won't be able to enjoy it frequently So I'm going home to try and replicate that garlic wine sauce as soon as I can!!! read more

Surprisingly amazing pizza that tastes like the real deal NY style!!! Pizza is perfectly cooked and the crust was crispy. I ordered a cheese pie and garlic knots. Service was quick and prices were very reasonable. My only suggestion would be a little less cheese. I saw a lot of people ordering subs and a veggie pizza. Three reviews in one. 5 stars, 3 stars , 2 stars. We have eaten here both dining in and take out for several years. Big servings for reasonable prices. 5 stars for the great, thin crust pizza! Wonderful Tasty sauce! N.Y style definitely. Veggie toppings not soggy. Always good! Sicilian pizza very good , too. Love that slices of different types available sometimes into the evening also . Love the pizza! 3 stars for the things they could step up a notch . Specifically the soup and the salad. You do get large portions for the dinners. Gigantic portions! Chicken Parmesan has 2 very tender chicken breast halves. Dinner is $11.25 and comes w/ pasta and soup or salad, and tasty little rolls. By the way, Try a side garlic rolls sometimes , my daughter claims they're very amazing! The soup included with the dinners is only and always Pasta Fagiole. They do have one or two others but apparently they're not available as included with dinner. Pasta Fagiole is usually made with Cannelini beans & pasta, chicken broth tomatoes celery carrots onions garlic etc . It's usually very flavorful and delicious and can take many forms. The soup here, though, is thick tan stuff that is mysteriously totally flavorless. The waitress said "everybody loves it" , but the 5 of us did not agree and we stopped having it since it always oddly tasteless. They told me the same at the counter when I got my dinner to go one night, that everyone loves it. We no longer get it and get the " salad" instead . Which brings me to the next item. A pet peeve of mine is when restaurants are really good and we go back often and yet those things like the bread , soup and salad could be really good like the rest of the food with just a little bit more thought. Moschello's has good rolls. The soup is truly dreadful as already mentioned. The salad is just a pile of plain, tasteless Iceberg lettuce , onions and tomato. There doesn't have to be delicious spring mixed greens but throw in some Romaine at least! Or maybe just that typical iceberg romaine mix some places use that at least has shredded carrot & bits of red cabbage. Or add a few olives. Just step it up a little bit since the rest your food is so very good and did I mention the pizza?! Pizza is great! 2 stars for The lasagna we got at lunch.I wish I had taken a picture - it was so unusual. It was a flat , little thing in the dish , two noodles with a soupy , loose meat cheese tomato sauce spilled all over the plate. My friend said it was kind of a bit tasty but it was just awful to look at. It really was just a soupy mess on a plate . One of my family always gets the ravioli at lunch or dinner and loves the them. They are just firm enough, big pillowy , thick , squares. The other pastas are also nicely cooked . However, that was the first and last time that we will ever have the lasagna! We love coming to this restaurant though so I hope I don't sound too critical . My family and I and any friends I have brought year all think the same thing though that a little bit more would elevate this wonderful neighborhood restaurant . We were in town for a soccer game and the rating for this place looked pretty good...Maybe it was an off day here but I was not overly impressed. As mentioned in other reviews, the decor here is not meant to be hip. Straight from the 70s/80s and no updates, but that give it character and suggests it been there and was successful for a long time. Service was generally okay...our server was pleasant and did stop back periodically. We ordered cheese sticks and garlic knots to start off. The cheese sticks were flavorless and still cool in the middle. The knots were okay, but zi have certainly had better. My wife had a meatball sub that was pretty tasty. It could have used some more sauce but the flavor was good. I ordered the meaty thick crust slice. I should have known better since every in the place was having thin crust. I love thin crust but they only had meat pizza in the thick stuff. This overly doughy pie had no real flavor. It definitely needed more sauce and cheese, but the cheese that was on it was not completely melted. Maybe the thin crust is great here...I suggest they offer more topping choices in that style. read more

We loved this place in 2019. Just came in for the first time post Covid for a to-go order and were shocked at the change. The windows and doors were filthy, no one preparing or serving food wore masks and the person waiting on the to-go orders coughed into his hand before he picked up my credit card to hand it back to me. read more
