We have had Moss Patrol clean and treat our roof every 2-3 years for 15 years. He does a gentle and thorough job of cleaning the roof with air. This doesn't age the roof or wash away the roofing material the way pressure washing does. MP just finished clearing our 6 yr old roof. We had started to get quite a bit of moss on it. It took a couple of hours, but it came out great! As the tech was working, you could see lots of moss & crud on the ground, so I know it was due. After the roof was done, he went all around the house and cleaned up everything on the ground and even sprayed off the house & windows, as well as the over-spray that landed on the neighbor's house. I asked how our shingles looked and he said they were in great shape and should last 20 years. They treated for future moss and said if it comes back in the next year they will take care of it. There was some miscommunication between Chris, Rebecca, who handles the scheduling and myself regarding some work. I was not home when Chris returned to my house, but my wife was. My wife was not involved in any of the prior conversations, but unfortunately Chris took his frustrations out on her. The way he treated her was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. We reached out to this company to get a quote on moss removal, moss prevention treatment, and gutter cleaning on our roof. We received a quote back quickly. After a couple weeks I emailed back to set the appointment. The back side of our roof (shady side) had a ton of moss and debris from winter storms covering it, and you couldn't even tell it had been there. Roof looked new again.I wasn't there while they were working, my husband came home during the end of it. No pressure-washing, and our roof was spotless. Gutters clean. I was most impressed with the clean up --all debris was cleaned off of our decks. They offered a 1 year guarantee on the moss prevention treatment--if moss grows within a year they will come back and take it off for free. An annual maintenance treatment was quoted at $250, half the price of the full removal and prevention treatment. I'm sure we will use them again. read more

Update 12/20/12 Today I received an email from Moss Patrol, apologizing again for the inconvenience of the mix up with cleaning our gutters. They offered to provide free moss service to make up for the gutters. I declined the offer, since after 5 months, our roof is still moss free. I appreciate that they reached out to me again, because it shows that they are improving their customer service, and care about the job that they do. I will reiterate that I would use them again, but make sure to be clear about the services requested. As a side note, they are real nice folks, and I know that this is a family business that depends on its customers. And I'd rather patronize a local, family business than a large corporation. read more

We just had our roof cleaned. They arrived right on time and worked with 2 guys to get the job done in a few hours.They did a great job with the roof and I was really impressed with the clean-up work done after the job. All the sidewalks were cleaned well - are entire outside was left much cleaner than it was before they were here. read more

Communication was a lot better with this company than the previous company I tried. Rebecca kept a steady stream of follow up emails on what was going on. Finally got it scheduled and Chris called ahead saying they were running late. I really wanted an estimate for a leak in a small sun room beforehand. Instead, I was reassured they would cover any repairs up to 15 shake, and that it was thought to be a flashing issue, but when they got here and I asked if they wanted to see the leak, and the were like "What leak?". Again I was reassured that everything would be fine as it was probably just the debris causing the leak, and to call them again if it did. Great work otherwise, and will gladly upgrade to five stars when the rains come. read more

They communicated well through the whole process and were willing to travel out past Arlington, WA (which similar businesses that were closer were unwilling to do.) Moss Patrol cleaned my roof and gutters in July. There was a huge amount of moss built up, and the gutters were completely full of pine needles and dirt, so it was a big job. Added to this is the fact we have two levels of roof, and the top level is a bit steep. If you go to their website and look at the before and after pictures, you might be skeptical that they can get your roof that clean... but wow, after they finished our roof looked like it was brand new, and the gutters, at least in the places visible to me, were empty. They sent one worker who was up on the roof all day. After cleaning the roof and gutters, he went around and cleaned up all the debris around the perimeter of the house that he'd blown off with high pressure air. He also hosed off the splatters of gutter gunk that had gotten on the side of the house. This guy worked super hard. There are still some spots on the second story windows that have some spatters on them, but I'm not bothered; it's not like they were spotless to begin with, and I figure window cleaning is a whole other job. Do read through the material they send you before the cleaning, it has some important information. Just as an example, they warn you to expect a bit of infiltration into the house of small debris around skylights, as some bits may get blown under the flashing. Sure enough, this happened at our house, but it was easy for me to clean it with a couple of swipes of a vacuum. Not everything went perfectly, though. When speaking with Rebecca beforehand, I emphasized the importance of keeping our neighbor's house clean, because it's just a few feet away from ours. But somewhere along the line, the message didn't get passed along to the fellow who did the actual work, and we had to call them back out to clean up some spatters from the neighbor's house. They took care of it to our neighbor's satisfaction, apologized for the oversight, and didn't charge us anything extra. So overall I'm very happy with their service and plan to consider them again when the time comes for another cleaning. They're obviously a small business and not a mega-corp with massive resources, so yeah, they may make a little mistake here or there, but they really care about doing a great job and will do their best to keep their customers happy. read more

Moss Patrol just completed cleaning my roof. I am in my seventies and don't like to get on the roof any more than necessary, but the moss was getting too plentiful for my comfort level. This is a family run business and from my very first call to them to today, Rebecca kept in contact and kept me updated. Chris arrived right on time, answered any questions I had and then got to work. I have a large split level home with a lot of roof. I had them do the air cleaning rather than the pressure washing, which I have heard is tougher on the roof. In about 2 1/2 hours he was completely done with the roof and clean-up. I couldn't have been more pleased with the work on the roof AND the clean-up. It is amazing what a transformation it made from before and after. I wish I had taken photos. The clean-up was fantastic and he even hosed down a bit of the neighbors roof that had some of the moss from my cleaning. I will definitely have them over next year to do this again, if needed. read more

My neighbors hired Moss Patrol to clean their roof. The diesel pressure washer used by the workers pumped exhaust into the neighborhood for 1/2 to 1 block (depending on wind direction) around my neighbor's house. The smell permeated every house nearby for the 3-4 hour duration of the job. Neighbors were coming out of their houses to see what was going on because the smell inside our houses was powerful and toxic, giving people headaches and causing those with asthma to increase their meds. Even the neighborhood cats cleared out of the area. When asked about the smell, the lead guy on the job said, "I have a job to do," and immediately turned the pressure washer back on. read more

This company punched a hole in our cedar shake roof while pressure washing it, sprayed shingle sealant/colorant onto our siding, and left a huge mess of moss/rotted-shinglevdebris all over our yard and landscaping. They did fix the hole, and made an attempt to clean up the landscaping and house. They tried to pressure wash the splatter off of my house, but ended up chipping the paint off. I had to paint over the chipped spots and I tried to paint over the splatter. Three years later, I am still looking at debris from their pressure washing cemented to the screen on my second story bathroom windows, and reddish stain/sealant splatter on my siding. They did give us a discount on the service and make some attempts to fix the damage, but nevertheless left us with lots of damage. The discount they gave us did not even come close to covering the costs of the damage that was done and the time and money I spent cleaning and repairing my own house. I think they should have paid for us to have all the splatter stained areas of my siding repainted, and thoroughly cleaned the nasty debris off our windows, screens, decks, and landscaping-- However, because they allowed the sticky moss/rotted wood debris to dry onto our house that it formed a cement like bond to anything it fell on and was almost impossible to clean away. Ditto with the stain/sealer- because it was allowed to dry, it was impossible to clean away. read more

This company is SUPERB! I had a steep slope roof COVERED in moss; I had walkways inundated with moss; I had pillar and concrete lower deck discolored and laden with dirt and debris. This firm, their crew, did EXEMPLARY work at my home this week. I could barely believe the results and actually started to tear up from joy! They are GENIUSES. Price reasonable--6 hours of work--SO BUSY they didn't even touch the coffee and cake I left for them. Worked without me being at home and left things immaculately clean--the went above and beyond the specifics---the clean up of all that they removed was incredibly thorough.
