Came in to get a couple things not realizing they didn't take card so we offered to go to the bank and the owner Maryanne was so kind she said we could have them for free then proceeded to give us free French bread 3 more cookies and 2 scones. This place has been around for quite some time and most of the locals know and frequent this lovely bakery tucked into downtown Oakdale. The cookies they make are simply fantastic, the turnovers perfection. It's just about an overload of the senses to see so many delicious treats. My daughter simply loves the place. Love this place, so much to chose from if you come early. So freshly made and wonderful flavor. I grab a turnover and cinnamon roll. Ate it and went to my meeting and wanted more, but went back and were sold out.Good thing I don't live in town because I would be giving them my whole paycheck. I wish I could give a better review but I have to be honest. I've known of Moss rose Bakery for a while because of past family events by past I mean over 10 years ago. I decided and was advised to go through Moss Bakery to provide my wedding cake and wedding cupcakes I want to get what I paid for I do not believe I got what I paid for.the taist test went very well and the presentation of the cup cakes were super well done, so I ordered 60 cupcakes and one cake two tier for myself and my husband. The final cupcakes and cake looked unworthy for a wedding, the cake was off center in leaning I could see the cake through the frosting which was not pleasing for a wedding. My chocolate cupcakes look like the poop emoji. I was so disappointed. I had sent pictures of what I wanted beforehand and unfortunately the pictures had been lost on their end I had to resend them a few days before the wedding which was not comforting. The day of the wedding nobody at the venue new the cake has been delivered it was just sitting on a table and the cupcakes were just sitting in boxes I was told they would to be set up. The cupcakes and cake were not set up by moss rose I had to take time out of my busy schedule aside from everything else I was doing as the bride that day. No one called or notified myself or someone atvyhe venue the cake was there.it was just sitting there off to the side. I was told by my guests the flavors were good but the look of the cake and cup cakes were lazy work. Makes me sad because I remember how nice the cake I had seen 10 years ago looked. read more

I drove an hour from Sonora to the Moss Rose Bakery. I was extremely disappointed with their bakery items. The cookies looked good but all tasted alike and all tasted like a dirty display case. The owners really need to take the time to clean the display cases. I hate it when a food item taste like "old refrigerator"; or old musty glass display case. I wouldn't recommend this bakery to my friends or neighbors. Very disappointed. I will say the help was a really nice lady. read more

I just got the worst treat meant in my life disrespected and given the dirtiest looks for simply trying to order doughnuts. Moss rose bakery is losing customer service i have gone several times and have gotten getting dirty looks and my money just thrown on the table for me to pick up. Bad habits with little to no one workers wearing mask or gloves handling money and touching the food I am disgusted and they will lose my business and the many business of my family and friends. I seen one of the employees touch money and continue on touching all the products not caring for the customers own health. I would give this no stars but just the lack of respect giving to customers with money getting thrown at them and at me, they are disrespectful and there cleanliness isn't there. We travel through Oakdale frequently and stopped at this bakery while exploring the downtown area. The bakery had a few mini apple pies out so I thought I would try one after dinner that night. As I sat down to watch my movie with my apple pie I dug in. This pie was AMAZING. It had a delicious apple filling with cream cheese on the bottom. It was SO delicious. I couldn't share. YUP, I was a pie hoarder! I tried to stop by on my way back through town on a Sunday, but they were closed. I'm going to make it a point of stopping by when we come through town again! We found this bakery last year. Their breads are truly artesan, their pastries amazing. We keep coming back as the way they bake the rich heavy bread is amazing. We live far away so we usually load up and freeze at least one loaf to put in the oven. You can't beat their turnovers. Oh, they only take cash so that is annoying, but still worth it. read more

The absolute Best Brownies in the world. If you like homemade raviolis this is the place to get them. Having an Italian Grandmother who had made them from scratch its hard to eat 'store bought' one. The cinnamon rolls and turnovers are to die for! Get a cinnamon roll NOW, take it home, heat it up in the oven, and prepare to die and go to heaven :) Food is also great. Huge sandwiches, lots of sides, full chicken dinners, homemade raviolis, etc. Definitely not healthy, so don't expect to find healthy options. I gave them one star off because the owner is very cranky and rude to children. If they breathe too loud, she will yell at them. If they touch the glass case to get a closer look at the cookies, she will yell at them. But I suppose it's part of the old school small town charm? It's worth it for the cinnamon rolls, at least. This is a classic little old-fashioned bakery. Everything is handmade, from scratch, every day, and it's all AMAZING. The cherry danishes are outrageously good. The nut-filled sticky buns are even better.
