It's motel 6 you get for what you pay for.. we have pets so this was a perfect spot for them to stay.. we called to see if they had availability and the gentleman in the phone was very helpful. Also no EXTRA CHARGE for pets! Which was great! We stayed for the night while passing through. The parking area is big and I love that they have BRIGHT lights so it feels a bit safe to leave your car parked. (We'll leave the light on) They did have a sherif drive by as well in the middle of the night. It is okay to stop for a night but not for more. It was not too loud in the room but the water pressure in the sink was very weird: you either get only a few drops or there is so much water that it splashes everywhere. There is the smell of cigarettes in non-smoking rooms as well but I did not mind that, but those who are sensitive must be made aware. read more

First thing you need to know is that this hotel's a/c was out for the whole hotel. If you read the reviews below, you'll see that this happens ALL the time but they don't disclose it until you check in. They give you a whopping $20 discount for the inconvenience (which is not worth it if you're sleeping in a room that never drops below 83 degrees even at 4:00 am as we had to). Keep in mind that no a/c also means no heating either; in case you're going in the colder months. The condition of the rooms is pretty bad--poorly maintained with bad plumbing in the toilets. Our beds weren't even made, the wi-fi is slower than dial-up and drops all the time, and every door here looks like it has been kicked in at least three times. The continuous police patrols in the parking lot suggests this place may have a shady side. Trust me, don't stay here unless you have absolutely no other options and even then, call and make sure their damn a/c is working first. read more

It's Motel 6. What do you expect? Room was barely ready when I arrived, but Joshua was super friendly and made sure to explain it was being cleaned. The room was on the surface clean, but, I did not walk barefoot. And my socks were dirty. No worries. Just don't go barefoot here. The shower worked and the television worked. An unexpected incident required our family to travel to CA on short notice. As we were traveling we needed a place to sleep for the night as we were getting pretty tired and traveling with little kiddos is not the easiest task! While driving we found the Motel 6 in Weed had vacancy. We arrived at around midnight and when the wife got the kids in the room she quickly called me to alert me the room did not have sheets and the blankets were wadded up in the corner. No big deal right? Went to the counter and was told there were not enough blankets but I could be given sheets so I could make the beds. Nothing better than being told you need to make your own bed when your spending close to $100 on a room. After voicing this issue I was provided with a different room. This would be better right? This room had cigarette burns on the comforters, the door did not have a key, the sink and shower hadn't been wiped down in ages. Long story short.... Don't stay here. This place is over priced and filthy. read more

We left our laptop there on accident and the on-site manager Mike W. was very kind and honest, not only did he recover the laptop from the cleaning crew, he shipped it back to me promptly with the pre-paid shipping label we provided. I very much appreciated the integrity. Thank you Mike! That said, the a/c was broken in our unit and it was over 90F inside our room during our two night stay, felt like a sauna. It was cooler outside than it was in our room late at night. We heard similar complaints from other tenants as well. I had to splash water on myself to stay cool throughout the night. And the free wireless internet was practically unusable, and we did not have much of a cellular signal there, so we were pretty much off-grid. There is no mini fridge here, microwave, coffee pot or any amenities of that sort. But this Motel 6 is close to the freeway entrance which provides easy access. And like all Motel 6, there is no pet fee, so it is probably the most affordable stay you can find if you're traveling with pets. read more

It's a place to stay in the middle of the night on a long drive. Don't expect anything decent. Just a mattress and a roof. Even the a/c was broken in all units when we arrived at 1am in summer. Tried to open the window, but there are no screens on the windows so that wasn't a safe option. Hair on the towels so we didn't even rinse off. I recently drove across the country with my 3 dogs and never had a problem at the 5 or 6 Motel 6s I stayed at. But now I stop at this Motel 6 at 1 in the morning, and the kid behind the counter says 2 dogs only. I guess they don't want too much dog hair getting on their 1.9 star hotel. read more

Avoid at all costs. Everything is filthy from the floor, moldy shower curtain, past customers hair on towels and in the bedding. I've slept in better conditions in Afghanistan and wouldn't want to subjugate anyone to that so don't pay for this experience. Even if you fall asleep you will be awoken through the paper thin walls by crack heads yelling long into the night, all the truck drivers downshifting on the freeway, or truckers starting up their trucks right outside the room in the parking lot every hour. I was worried I would contract something in the shower and at least had flip flops to prevent that from happening. Do yourself a favor by not making this the low point on a trip. I wish I could rate it better for the employees working there as they were all extremely kind but they know the state of the place that they're working at. read more

We have a lot of items that need refrigeration. Second room: I get cursed out because someone is in the room already. Third room: a smoking room with two double beds when we ordered a non smoking room work a queen. TV doesn't work. My apologies for blowing my lid at the lady at the desk. I know it was her third night. She seemed nice. My wife has a severe foot injury and hasn't been able to see a specialist yet, so walking around the property was pretty awful for her. This is about as basic as it gets. Whatever you end up paying for the room this is a $60 hotel. I try not to trash talk but the three stars speaks for itself. The room was fine except for the smell of old cleaner that hits you when you first walk in. Anywhere else and I would have moved rooms but after a long day of travel I dealt with it. The bathroom was spacious. But the faucet sprayed everywhere if you happened to turn it on too much. The Internet didn't work at the room. Again, a deal breaker in any other setting. I mean, that's part of the cost right? Anyway, I'd stay here again if it was cheapest. Honestly, all I generally need is a bed and a shower. And that's all I got here. Following up on my last review, after coming back to give this motel another try after reporting our last experience with a dirty room to the manager. 1 star for a sort-of effort. Just dissatisfied that there was literally food on surfaces when we came in, garbage on floors, dirty bathroom sink, toilet was clearly not cleaned and had sh** still on it, food left in fridge, hair in sheets and towels. Carrie at the front desk was kinda rude when I asked about something I left in the room a few days ago that I was told would be set aside for me but wasn't. We made a point to ask that they make sure our room was clean this time...they didn't. Whoever's managing this place isn't doing a good job of making sure people are doing there job's, or just hard to find good help in this area. Not worth $60. We took photos this time. Thankfully brought a sleeping bag. Stopped here 2am in a wends, traveling from northern Ca to Oregon. Hair fuzz on bedding (probably just need to update their machines) dirty shower, and the room had a strong smell, kind of smelled like raid. Night staff was super pleasant and not many motels accommodate dogs, I would of stayed in N. Redding but they were full, and I was too tired to drive past weed. Places like this wish I had my dog sport Van sooner because I'd rather sleep in that than here. read more

I have stayed at this location a fews times on my way to Oregon over the years. Stays have been what you would expect of a Motel 6. You know, relative clean, things in working order, sparse furnishings and get out the next day. There must have been a management change because my recent trip found floors dirty, an A/C unit not worth turning on, hairs on bathroom floor, a hard mattress, a very small shower and 1 chair. Be sure to walk in slippers because you might not know what is on the floor. It's a good location, but I think I will be using another hotel chain on my next trip. read more

While I understand the whole "get what you pay for" mentality .. this place falls well below that category. It is not worth $100 a night. We booked a room on the spot during our travel today. Didn't look at reviews prior, just hoped for the best as we were exhausted. Tried 3 rooms and left. First reeked of fresh Marijuana before I even set foot into it. The clerk was kind enough to let me check out the room next to it. It also reeked of weed and after 2 steps in I got a whiff of unwashed body parts. The clerk was again kind enough to let me see another room. While the third room smelled much better (like urinal cakes) it was dirty. Like so dirty.. fresh stains on the wood floor and pet hair. As if a pack of huskies got down on some meatball subs and rolled around on the floor. I could tell an attempt had been made to clean (beds made and toilet paper folded into a luxurious fan) it was still down right nasty. With a quick hunch to look at the floor beneath the bed I saw that it had a layer of hair and grime. Filth, you could call it. The clerk was very understanding when I apologized for coming off as a snob. She apologized and when I told her it's not her fault she said the cleaning people will be talked to. When I asked about management she said they were "in between". Upon looking at reviews it looks like someone was told the same thing 10 months ago about being in between managers and many, many people have had the same experience. Motel 6 has responded to a lot of reviews with apologies but it's clear that they aren't making an attempt to make it better. Please just save your time and money as well as your health - and go somewhere else! read more

What a dump. One star is over-rating this place. The lock on our door didn't work, so the desk clerk had to let us in with her passkey. We couldn't leave the room or we wouldn't have been able to re-enter. There was no hot water. One room had no washcloths, and the other had no soap. The towel rack was broken off the wall and lay on top of the toilet tank. The room phone cord had been cut completely off so the phone couldn't be plugged in or used. There was a dirty sock on the floor and lots of dirt under the beds. I've stayed at plenty of Motel 6's but this place was the worst ever. WARNING!!! THIS PLACE IS DISGUSTING!!! We have stayed here several times over the last ten years. This will be our last. The room was absolutely filthy (see photos). We politely requested the room be cleaned twice and they failed to do so each time with a variety of excuses. The grass and sidewalk has dog crap on it. I had to move some of it so we wouldn't step in it. It was dried out and had obviously been there awhile. The floor of the room has dried black dirt spots in numerous spots next to the bed. I can only guess what caused the dirt to stick to it. There are numerous reports of other guests having there white socks turn brown from walking on the floor. We would only where shoes. (See photos.) The top of the refrigerator clearly hadn't been wiped down. There were crumbs and hair all over it. (See photos.) Our 2 1/2 year old son did a better job cleaning it. The toilet is filthy with chunks of something at the bottom of it. The bowl has mineral deposit stains. (See photos.) After our third night and second request for someone to clean I had to make two trips down to the office to dispose of our trash that was about to overflow with food trash and dirty diapers. While I was in the office waiting for towels, I over heard a phone conversation about a guest who had a cell phone charging cord stolen out of his room at the owners other Motel 6 in Yreka. You've been warned. It's very sad to see this place go downhill so quickly. read more

The room was not clean. There was a 12X12 inch ceiling tile missing over the toilet that exposed the pipes and insulation. Someone tried to break into my room. Thankfully I had the security bar engaged, otherwise they would have come into my room. Motel management offered no resolution. Air conditioning was substandard. read more

This room is dirty and disgusting. Would have been better to sleep in the car. First impression, walking in to the room I was immediately put off by dirt smears on the wall, hair and stains on the bed sheets. I wanted nothing more but to turn around and leave. Because of the timing of our trip, we were unable to find any other accommodations. While sitting on the bed (attempting to psych myself up to bite the bullet to sleep in this shit hole for the night), a bug that resembled a bed bug crawled on to my leg. Appalled, I wrapped the bug in tissue and took it down to show the front desk staff. The staff was dismissive and completely un interested in addressing the situation. After much prodding they promised to send a maid right up to the room in order to verify that the insect was not a bedbug. After a half hour of waiting, we decided to check back to see why the maid had not come. Again, we were promised that someone would come. It is now over two hours and no one has come. I've slept at a lot of cheap hotels in my time but this is by far the worst. Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else. My boyfriend and I stayed at this Motel 6 about 2 years ago when visiting northern CA for a hiking trip. We were on the second floor with no complaints. Sadly our experience this time wasn't great. I had called the motel around 4:00pm letting them know I would be a late check in, I would arrive at about 10pm since I'm coming from Sonoma County. The front desk staff member thanked me for calling ahead of time. When I checked in they had told me that they already charged my card and that I was lucky that the manager didn't charge me any cancellation fees. That didn't make sense because I did warn them ahead of time that I would be late. We were given an accessible room downstairs because it was the only one they had, neither one of us is handicapped. When we walked in we were very surprised that it was a very small room. The bed is suppose to be a queen but appears to be a full size mattress on a queen frame. The lamps on the wall didn't work but luckily the main light did. The bathroom is of course set up for a handicap individual but it was dirty. The inside of the toilet was dirty, the shower floor is disgusting, the bed sheets were dirty. Luckily my boyfriend and I brought our own pillows and blanket. The walls were very thin, we could hear our neighbor being very upset with someone over the phone for about maybe 2 hours so it was hard to sleep. There was no AC, there was a fan switch but that didn't help. That "accessible" room was definitely not wheelchair friendly, the bathroom did have space but the bedroom did not. It almost felt like a fire hazard for anyone who is wheelchair dependent. My boyfriend and I decided to stay the night but we did end up booking another hotel immediately for the next Day. We did not bother to ask or talk to the manager as we were discouraged that their response wouldn't be so kind. Next time we will speak up but needles to say that next time it won't be at this Motel 6. read more

Good clean motel. The floor is wooden instead of carpet which gives it a nice feel than other filthy motels. Beds and setup is good too. Sheets could have been a bit cleaner or newer. They charge 2.99 or something for WiFi which was weird. Overall nice stay and will visit again if needed. read more

I had to stay here because there was a snow storm in Mount Shastha. To be honest this is not the cleanest hotel with all amenities. The price per day was very affordable. But it is being run by really hard-working people who go above and beyond with whatever limited resources they have. I initially thought I will find a bigger hotel along the road after the first day. But I just ended staying for all the 3 days I was stuck in the snow. Just for the staff, who were willing to drive me to the nearby grocery store and do whatever they could to make my stay pleasant. Please stay here, If you have the opportunity to support such small businesses in a suburb like Weed CA, especially during the pandemic. Again, don't complain some rooms are not up to par, look closely at the people who try their best! You will be fine staying here! read more

Stayed for one night on a weekend. The front desk staff was pleasant, and despite the motel being fully booked, parking was easy. It's right off the interstate. It seemed quiet. Here was the problem: it's the middle of a pandemic. That's a good time to clean the floor, wipe down the various surfaces, clean the bathroom. When the floor is liberally sprinkled with crumbs and twigs from previous occupants, when the comforter has oily stains, when the toilet and shower are mildewed and the shower has a big wad of hair in it, it's not just gross; it seems dangerous. The TV worked fine; the towel bar looked like it had been broken off the wall for a long time. The damp towel I used to wipe the floor was black afterwards. I've stayed at many basic motels, including no shortage of Motel 6's and a Travelodge in Indiana where literally every time I opened my room door, the cops were arresting someone across the street--and I was there for three days. What I'm saying is I've stayed in some modest places. I've worked as a janitor in a junior high school. Rarely have I stayed somewhere where I didn't want to take off my shoes or even sit down. This has to be the biggest dump in all North America!!!!! I made my reservation over 3 weeks ago, picture looked very nice, amenities were what seemed reasonable for this area. We got a later start on our trip, so I called this motel, to let them know it might be 11 - 11:30 before we got there. They had trouble finding my reservation, then say they found it, but it's not for the room I requested. No problems I say, just please make it on the 1st floor because my husband is on oxygen and can't do steps. Ok, so now I just want a decent room cuz I need sleep. This room is small, cramped, feels dirty, I won't sleep under the covers. There are cigarette butts and a ripped Marlboro pack on the top of the light fixture in the bathroom. NEVER AGAIN! read more
