We arrived at the hotel and checked into our room. After checking the beds we discovered that there were hairs all over inside of the bed. Basically, they didn't change the linens when they "cleaned" the room. While they were able to get us a different room, the experience just made our skin crawl the entire time we were there. Note that there is no free wifi, the coffee was quite bad, and the hot water was put in a coffee urn (so the hot tea tasted like coffee). read more

Was on bottom floor. Not sure if anyone above me. If so, the building handles walking nice. The WiFi is paid. You must prepurchase a card first. Pain in the ass. No coffee maker in room. I care about this more than crappy tv. No microwave to heat instant coffee. The air has a good sound to sleep to. High has a rattle. It it doesn't put out any cool air. It is 70 degrees outside and I'm sitting here with my door open to let some cool air in. I'm not the only one. Two more on this wing are also. Bed is fine. I can sleep on the ground and be happy. Doors aren't easy to shut. This translates into your neighbors having to SLAM doors to get them to shut. The staff was great. He was as friendly and helpful as at expensive hotels. Elgin. Worst motel/hotel experience EVER! Do NOT stay here. We stayed one night, November 14, 2019 on a trip from Portland, OR to Southern California. I stayed here once before and it was fine. This time we started out fine, there were hardly any other guests and we had no one beside us or above us...until about 9pm we could hear a herd of elephants above us. The ENTIRE night. I exited the room at about 5:30am after a night of NO sleep whatsoever. I noticed a stream of liquid just to my right, I stepped out a few feet looked up and there was a junky with his pants down urinating off the balcony. That explained it, drug dealing/using all night. In the few minutes it took to pack up the car I observed numerous men going in and out of that room and I saw the drugs with my own eyes. Ok, Motel 6 is pretty basic lodging but this one, except for the location being convenient to I-5, is bare-bones. Pros: cheap rates they allow pets and don't charge extra friendly staff rooms are remodeled. Pizza Factory is right down the street plenty of room in the parking lot Cons: bed was pretty uncomfortable the stand-up shower (no tub) is like the tight ones on a cruise ship my bed spread had an obvious burn mark/tear hole in it yet they still put it on the bed slow wifi internet and you have to pay for access per device room door was not easy to open and close & you can too easily hear outside the room read more

Yes, it's a chain, and yes, it's right off the I-5, but if you need a cheap and cheerful place to stay while roadtripping up or down the grapevine, this is probably the best value for your money in the Mt. Shasta area. We've found this one to be cleaner than most, and quieter...especially in the winter. While rates are about 20% higher in the summer months, we're still only talking about $50 for a bed, a clean shower and cable TV. And seeing what $50 gets you in some non-chain motels, I'll be sticking with Motel 6, thankyouverymuch. read more

I'm 70 years old and this is the worse motel I've ever stayed in. First off, it was dirt everywhere. Secondly, there are no amenities. Not a coffee pot, refrigerator, microwave or anything like that. We stay next to someone who obviously lives there full time. No harm in that I guess, but the coffee can full of cigarette butts outside their door was pretty disgusting. read more

I just read a few of the more critical reviews of this Motel 6 and I must have stayed in one of their better rooms, because I enjoyed my stay. The room was very clean, smelled fresh and everything functioned well. When I rate a motel, I remember that it is a motel not a high end hotel in Beverly Hills and this motel deserves a rating of 3.5-4 stars when compared to other motels at comparable rates. I paid $48 and I showered, did some emailing and then I slept great, it was worth every penny. I rounded up to 4 stars because the staff was professional and friendly. Pros: friendly staff, location right off the 5, the value, clean room, comfortable bed, grocery store, Subway and Mt Shasta Brewing Co. nearby. Cons: limited amenities (I bought shampoo at Rays Market), wifi not free and very slow (if you have MIFI use it instead). Limited TV selections (I watched Netflix on my computer). Ignore the 2 star ratings, save some dough and give it a try. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Stayed here a month or so ago during undrivable snow storm. Well Room 226 of Motel 6 in weed California has bedbugs. Wouldn't offer refund after I was bit multiple times and brought bugs to front desk. Offered to give me $20 off... I figured keep your 20$ I'll do you one better and let everyone on Yelp know what happened. Since I had to go home, throw away backpack costing more than stay because was not a heat dryable material. Room is miserably hot. After driving 10 hours yesterday, I couldn't get to sleep until after 1 am. I am awake at 5:33 am writing this review because I can't sleep...it's hot! The fan has been on high cool all night and me laying here sweating should tell you how great it works. One of the worst night's sleep ever. I'm debating on checking out to drive the remaining 9 hours of my trip just so I can be in air conditioning in my car. Update: I asked the lady at the counter if the rooms had fans or if they were supposed to be air conditioners. She said they are air conditioners. Mine was definitely broken. Fix the air conditioner in room 108! I ended up being on the road for 12 hours the day I checked out of this motel and was extremely tired the entire day. Several times I was tempted to close my eyes while driving. I am thinking of calling and asking to speak to a manager to get some type of credit. That 1 night stay was seriously the worst night's sleep I've had in a very long time. One other thing I forgot to include above is the rooms are extremely small. I have never stayed in a Motel 6 that had such tiny rooms. I would have gladly paid extra to stay in a higher quality room. Next time. read more

No drawers of any kind in room. Had to stack my clothes on the table. Sub-par air conditioning. Cheap and very outdated decor. Pressurized toilet that sounds like a rocket blasting off when flushed. If you are planning a trip to Mt Shasta, this is a great place to stay. They recently updated their rooms: replaced the dirty carpet with wood-like flooring, updated the bedding and curtains, hung flat screen TVs on the wall and did a couple other upgrades. A bonus is that their bedrooms no longer have that weird Motel 6 smell. I'm not sure of it is still the case but before the upgrade they offered smoking and non-smoking rooms. We once stayed in a smoking room because they had no other rooms available. It was smelly. So be sure to specify non-smoking. Like one of the other reviewers mentioned, this is an inexpensive chain so don't expect all the luxuries. There are fancier places in Weed if you want to pay double. Overall this is a good place to get some ZZZZZZs. read more

If you want to stay at a place with stains on the bedding, mold in the toilet, a non-smoking room that smells like a smoking room, and water that oddly tastes like Little Caesers then this place is for you. At least the AC worked... but don't open the windows because the screen is all busted up. In hindsight, we should've just stayed at the Hi-Lo Motel a few blocks away. The price was similar but the rooms looked a lot better. At that place you get free wi-fi and you're right next to the Hi Lo Cafe... which is, allegedly, the best restaurant in town. At the Motel 6 they charge you $2.99 for wifi per device and you get bedding that's so snagged and beat up that it's probably 30 years old at least. read more

First time we stayed here was great however, this time; the sheets were clearly not cleaned/changed before our stay, there was hair in the shower, the room smelt incredibly strong like marijuana, the water pressure at the sink was like a pressure washer but the shower had almost no pressure and the room keys expired in the middle of the night. The only reason I'm staying here is because I had car issues and needed to get a room for the night. It reeks of cigarettes and was completely dusty. The floor felt gross and I was wearing socks. I had to wipe everything down with Clorox wipes. I looked at the shower and it looked like it wasn't cleaned in forever. There was crusty soap bubbles and tiny hairs in it, I had to wipe it down with even more Clorox wipes. I don't even feel like the beds are safe or clean enough to sleep in. The room heater wasn't working either, but luckily an employee was able to bring a space heater. Like I know it's a Motel 6, but c'mon. I at least expect the rooms to be thoroughly cleaned in times of COVID. read more

Please read if you're going to stay here. I stayed here around end of December of 2014. I've stayed in plenty of hotels/motels but this one was so dirty. I spilt water on the ground went to wipe it up and the towel was then BLACK. I got on my hands and knees and whipped down all the floors myself. Also the pillow had YELLOW stains all over it. DISGUSTING: I don't think they EVER clean the rooms; maybe once a year? But just maybe never. Stains on the walls, furniture, bedding - fluids, hair, dirt. Filthy. Based on the hairs on my bed, I would say they do not clean the bedding in between uses, they only make the bed. No mattress protection. No warm blanket and wonderfully torn pillows. Floors are gritty dirty. Bathroom is moldy, toothpaste residue in sink, and I cannot even believe the bed cover. I'm pretty sure it has never been washed since they first bought it: hair, stains galore, pens marks - filthy. GROSS. Only stay here if there is absolutely no other option. read more

OMG! In between escrows on homes and have to be in hotels for extended period. Thought this one looked pretty clean outside so took a chance. I booked 2 weeks extended stay. Stayed one night in a filthy room, TV quit working, internet popped off every other webpage, and took literally 2 minutes to even load a webpage. Went to the office on the second day, told them I would not be staying any longer and we would be checking out in the morning. Next morning, a different clerk, with tats all over copped an attitude, (probably had been complained to constantly as well) I advised I understood it was not anyones fault but poor management but she did not need to cop an attitude with me. She then changed her tune a bit, I think because a co-worker was there as well. To whomever the manager is there, shame on you. This place is disgusting. Especially during a pandemic. Small room, huge handicapped bathroom (with mismounted rail), no extra toiletry shelf (and the one under the mirror was falling off the wall). No continental breakfast or coffee in room (unlike the Motel 6 at Santa Nella). And the lobby coffee had only dry creamer, no 1/2& 1/2. Acord of France bought this chain years ago and the prices go up as the level of service goes down. By the time you pay for the wi-fi, all the other motels in Weed are less expensive. read more

It's a great place to crash if you want easy, clean and safe. The laminate floor was nice and clean (the Motel 6 in Grants Pass had old dirty carpet). The bedspread and the towel holder are newer and gave the room a very updated look. It could have been deep cleaned better with brown around the bathroom shower, faucet and sink. A deep clean would be good but again, it was solid. I recommend it and would stay there again if I was heading through town. read more

Gross all the way around. Smells like cigarettes outside. Inside is dirty on the floor, counter tops, and sheets of both beds. They definitely did NOT clean after last patron nor change the sheets as I found dirt and hair in the sheets; multiple cigarette holes in the comforter. Place is quite run down. WiFi only had one bar and AC was broken in entire place upon arrival. I came prepared and will be sleeping in my sleeping bag and on my own pillows. Counter and floor had spilled liquid that was not cleaned up. Forget about covid cleaning. Staff did not wear masks nor did tenants. I wiped most things down when we arrived but worried my cats will come in contact with something they shouldn't. Ew Also, very noisy. People upstairs sounds like they are stomping around when I know they're just walking. Can hear person sneeze and phone ring in room next door. Basically walls are paper thin. I had the Worst Experience Ever at This Motel 6 in Weed, Ca. I Do Not Recommend Anyone to Ever stay there. Unless you don't mind being treated the way I was treated. First off, Check In time is 3 p.m., but my Bf & I show up, after 6 p.m., after spending Most of the day Driving from the Bay Area, and then stopping for a few hours at the Shasta Lake & Shasta Caverns. when we get there, she tells me that they Don't have Any Rooms Available, and to give her 25 minutes to get a room clean for us. But she gives me the room key for the room she gave us (131) for when we come back. We leave, to go driving around this cute little town, then to go to Dinner at the Hi-Lo Restaurant, just a little bit down the street. When we get back, After 9 p.m., to our room, it's in Total Disarray. No Bedding, No Towels, Wash cloths, or Bath Mat. No Soap, No Nothing. Trash in the Trash can, Toothbrush, Toothpaste & Soap on the Sink & Vanity from the Previous renter... Filthy Shower, Bedding Crumpled up in the closet thing... and Pillows Crumpled up in the Corner of the bed, on the Night stand.. so I call the Office to ask what the hell is going on, it's AFTER 9 P.M. at Night, Why is Our Room in This Condition, the tells me, that I have NO REASON to be Pissed Off at her. BULLSHIT I Don't! I have EVERY Fucking Right to be PISSED! I go to her Maids to ask for some Towels & Soap.. and they Tell me that "If You Don't Like It, You can Get the Fuck Out!" REALLY? and This is How You Win Customers? Fuck You! I WILL NEVER Stay at Your Fucking Motel EVER AGAIN! If I ever go back to Weed, I'll stay somewhere else! The dog is more important than you are! 1st week in March, 2018 3am. Awoken by a dog barking in a car out in the parking lot. Snow on the ground. Called the Night manager and complained "There's a dog barking out in the parking lot and I can't sleep!" Manager says: "o.k.". Dog keeps barking, 1/2 hour later. I call the Manager: "That dog is still barking!" Manager says: "Sir, we are a pet friendly facility. Sorry!" We've stayed in many Motel 6's that were decent, especially when considering the price. However, "dirty and disgusting" was only the half of it here. Too bad because the Hi-Lo Cafe, Mount Shasta Brewing, and the COS disc golf course are staples while in Weed. A refund of 10% is laughable after sending every paying customer on their way with the manager's card (while she stands at the counter silent) upon being denied a hot shower and working heater. Unfortunately, the employee at the counter seemed to have a better grasp of customer service than the spineless manager who sat in silence while her card was given out to contact at a later date. After multiple calls to track down the manager, we were quick to find that she was unapologetic and only cared to repeat that, "it was not their fault." With all the people out of jobs, it is still amazing to find people this clueless. If you can't provide a hot shower and a warm room, you shouldn't be charging full price. Sleeping in the car and finding a shower in the next town would've been the better option. Don't waste your time with this place. Support another business that values their customers. read more

If I could I would give it zero stars toilet was filthy, shower was filthy, dirty and some sticky substance underneath my bed. Found a hair in the shower also burn holes in all comforters, to be honest I've stayed in for leave bags in my life but this one takes the cake. Two of our pillows had no pillowcases with sweat stains all in all pillowcases and pillows and pillow is ripped looks like covered up with pillow case I guess I should feel lucky there were no bedbugs, that I could see. Doesn't seem like cleaning staff or staff take pride in their rooms at all will never stay here again worst experience in a hotel I have ever had. We were so tired after driving 12 hours and decided to stop here as Motel 6 as usually Motel 6 is an inexpensive but decent place to stay. Well not in Weed!! Sheets had someone else's hair in them, pillows stained, shower so moldy we couldn't use it, toilet disgusting and stained, only 1/2 roll of TP in the room . There was 1 pillow person, and despite that it was in the low 40s outside, we only received 1 sheet and a super thin coverlet! Glad we had each other to stay warm. At one point I spilled a bit of water on the floor so I wiped it up with one of the towels, which immediately turned black with dirt.
