No problem--I could tell it was busy and that he was running around, so I took no offense to him walking off. We waited about 10-15 minutes. No one offered us water or came over to greet us. The same waiter I had spoken to returned to our table carrying an empty pitcher, and I greeted him. In response, I got, "You know what you want?" I repeated my greeting, and he repeated his question. Mind you, he never introduced himself, so I have no clue what his name is. The only conversation we had before that was when he confirmed that we could seat ourselves. While I understand being overwhelmed or tired, I can't understand being met with such a rude disposition when I had done nothing to warrant that response. Needless to say, I didn't want someone who found greeting me to be an impossible task handling my food, so we left. He couldn't have cared less that we were leaving. The beef tartare with salmon roe and kiwi was well balanced and interesting in flavor, and interactive with modifiable textural elements in each bite. I would have never guessed that coffee and lemon would complement each other for a palate cleanser nor that a palate cleanser would be memorable the next day, but alas.... Finally dessert had one more unexpected combo with a spruce ice cream and jammy strawberries but it was perfection to end the meal. As impressive as the creativity was, the execution and attention to detail in the cook, plating and explanation of each dish as it was presented to us was even more appreciated. Luckily it was walking distance from one of the trolley stops (Farmers Market). We came in on a Sunday afternoon. It was busy but we were able find a spot. We started with drinks. We then ordered a falafel sandwich with the waffle fries and a queso dip. The fries and the dip were delicious. The falafel sandwich was also good. The service was quick and we picked up a t-shirt on the way out. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.
