    Truck Stop & a Cabernet

Mother Stewarts is on the Ale Trail, so we popped in one Sunday afternoon for lunch. Turns out, it's more of an event center in a really old warehouse, so there's just a bar inside - the food is in a food truck outside. No worries, the crew was super friendly, walked us through the beer selections, and let us know what to order from the truck outside - couldn't ask for anything more! Beer was clean, like cold filtered and had a nice aftertaste as well. Low on the IBUs, so not bitter at all.

My partner and I tried Mother Stewarts tonight for the first time as part of the Dayton Ale Trail and they were fantastic! We really enjoyed our time there. Pictured is the Barrel Aged Porter that I ordered first. It was really a good heavy malt base porter that had then been aged in a whiskey barrel. Definitely worth a try. I then had the Disco Dancer IPA. This was my personal favorite of the 2. Great hazy IPA that was well balanced and tasty! The brewery itself is large and open with a big bar. I can see why this is a popular spot, especially during the warmer months. And finally, the service was awesome! The bartenders were more than happy to allow you to try samples and were truly great! I definitely recommend trying Mother Stewart's!

Great beer! Friendly service! Huge space for music and private events. Often have food trucks. Check socials for events!

it was awesome but they gave my 2 year old toddler a bunch of alcohol and got them drunk. #lit #raiseemright

That's all I could finish. Meh.

Mediocre. Limited selection (4 beers). What is there is all IPAs and other light beers of similar blandness. The brewery itself leaves a bit to be desired. Went in July and it was pretty warm and humid inside. Get ready to sweat. And, the main bar area played Christina Aguilera music, so that didn't help with the overall feel. Won't be going back.

Nice atmosphere and good beers. They had live music the day we stopped and several food trucks to choose from. Service was a little slow considering how busy they were.

    The bar - wow

A great microbrewery in an old repurposed industrial building in Springfield Ohio. I had a pint of the Mother May IPA and it's well made, well balanced and made my taste buds happy. Food is not served here but there was a food truck just outside the entry door. It's a good thing!ill be back here.

A really neat brewery located in Springfield. It feels like an amazing bonus to the locals of the area - but doesn't necessarily feel like a "destination brewery" for driving into - the beer selection just feels a bit too limited for that. PROS: -Beer prices are amazing! Absolutely so. Their regular, everyday prices are the same as some of the best happy hours we can find in Dayton. -TONS of seating. I imagine Mother Stewart's is probably one of the "community centers" of the entire seating. They have the most seating I've seen out of almost every brewery I've been to. Lots of those community table seats, but they also have bar seating and high-top tables as well as four-person low-top tables. And that's just the inside! They have an entire adorable-looking outdoor patio area with even more seating out there. It's impressive! -Brewery itself doesn't sell any food. They do have, quite literally, food trucks outside. They even have a spot for them. The food trucks place their menus on the tables inside, and you can text your name and order, and they'll bring it in for you. (At least, the food trucks that were there when we were!) What a good system - especially in winter! -Parking lot right outside the front door. I imagine the parking lot overflows into other areas during peak times, but it's not too small for the brewery size and the people who will have a DD to drink. CONS: -The beer selection is really limited - surprisingly so for a brewery. About 7 offerings. I imagine this tends to be a great choice for locals who want to enjoy the atmosphere and have found their favorites here, but as a "destination" brewery, we were a bit disappointed. (We drove 40 minutes to get here and then 40 back). -We weren't particularly fond of the beers we had. I think it's likely a water source difference since the beers had a similar taste to them that just wasn't for us. I saw lots of people enjoying theirs, so I think it's just a taste preference - like all beer, really!

Well, my bad - their website includes multiple accessible places to park in and around the village. That said, we got it, and decided to belly up to the bar for a better look at the offerings and the place in general. Matt O was our server. I started with a delicious Scottish Ale, and my companion had a glass of wine. Prices are reasonable. My companion ordered and raved about the Shepherd's Pie. I had Bangers & Mash - sausage (3 pieces) with imported horseradish mustard, mashed potatoes, gravy, delicious baked beans. It went perfectly with my pint! It was a warm afternoon so the glass garage doors were opened wide and folks were eating and drinking outside in the beer garden too. The vibe was loud, lively and very positive. Music was old school British Invasion '60s style. Good times seemed to be had by everyone. We finished with a locally produced Chocolate Rum Cake - it was rum forward and smooth, dark chocolatey! Highly recommended.

The atmosphere was charming, the décor was exactly what we were hoping for, and the menu felt genuinely true to British cuisine rather than a themed interpretation. Unfortunately, our visit took place on a colder day, and the large garage-style door connecting to the outdoor seating area was left open. As a result, the entire restaurant felt quite cold throughout our meal. Since we were dining with our infant son, this made it difficult to fully enjoy the experience and was our biggest disappointment of the evening. In fact, it was cold enough that we kept our coats on throughout dinner, which made it hard to relax and enjoy the atmosphere the restaurant had worked so hard to create. We also ordered the fish and chips. The quality of the fish was very good, and it was clearly prepared with care. However, the portion size left something to be desired. The meal included only one medium-sized piece of fish, which felt small for a dinner entrée, especially considering the price point. While the food itself was enjoyable, we were hoping for a more substantial serving. Despite these issues, The Last Queen delivered on atmosphere, authenticity, and food quality. I would be willing to give it another try, particularly during warmer weather, as I believe the temperature and comfort level had a significant impact on our overall experience.

We sat at the bar and Victoria's service was over the top! She was very friendly, funny, and chatty even though she was very busy and the place was hopping. One of our friends mentioned wanting to buy buckeye candies and she told us about a place across the street that sometimes carried them. A few minutes later, she came back and told us she'd called them and confirmed they were in stock! Over and above customer service. But the food...amazing as usual. I love the pub food with a German theme. Several of us had the Bratwurst Reuben and it was delicious. I told everyone they had to order something fried because Trails' batter is some of the best I've ever tasted. The onion rings didn't disappoint. Our friends were very impressed with the place, as were we!

We were told the wait would be about 35 minutes, which seemed completely reasonable. The hostess took our phone number, told us she would call when our table was ready, and directed us to wait on the patio. We ordered drinks from the bar and stayed there the entire time. At 8:00 p.m., we checked on our table only to be told they had called us twice "30 minutes ago." That made no sense. My phone ringer was on, I had no missed calls or voicemails, and I even verified that the hostess had the correct phone number. Instead of trying to resolve what was clearly a communication issue, the hostess was dismissive, rude, and completely unapologetic. We were simply told the kitchen was closed and there was nothing they could do. This was especially frustrating because the sign on the door stated the restaurant was open until 9:00 p.m. Mistakes happen. What made this experience unacceptable was the complete lack of customer service or any effort to make things right. After waiting, buying drinks, and following the staff's instructions, we were effectively blamed for a problem that appears to have been on their end and then turned away without dinner. Ye Olde Trail Tavern failed to deliver even the most basic level of hospitality. It certainly did not reflect the welcoming spirit that Yellow Springs is known for. We won't be back, and based on this experience, I can't recommend it to anyone.

I wasn't as surprised this time by the location in a neighborhood, something that gives it a very welcome feel and suggests with the addition of a covered outdoor porch with picnic tables that this is a good neighborhood hang. I was late for lunch, almost two but there were some folks still finishing up. Good vibe, good music and casual atmosphere. I opted for the Takoyaki app which was tasty and not so burning hot that it scorched the roof of your mouth. Also the right amount of mayonnaise as opposed to often an excess. The Ramen Flight was fun in principle but I wouldn't do it again. I unwisely and perhaps naively assumed there would be mini versions of the full serving of Tonkotsu broth with Mayo, Thai curry and Szechuan with scallions. But it really is just the broth and ramen. Expected the Szechuan to have some heat and peppery lip buzz but did not. The Thai curry was super salty. Just missed some option of veggies and protein. Finally I would suggest not sitting near the front near the stairs to the kitchen. The spot has competing music soundtracks with two different play lists battling between your two ears.
