Very good food. Great service. True pub feel. 65 cent wings on Sunday 55 cent on monday. Good happy hour. Breakfast on Sunday until two. Large Long bar

I ate two before I took the picture. ($1.40 for each one? And carrots and dipping sauce are extra??) Crazy!

Not a lot of Irish pubs in Gainesville but we were looking for a little friendly Irish themed fun on the Saturday before St Pattys day and found this place. It's a pretty typical dive style bar. Cool. We take a seat at the bar and are pleasantly surprised -it's not too crowded the last Saturday before the holiday. Ok. Bartender is friendly and pleasant. A plus:) I am far from an expert on Irish food but I have been to Ireland. The Irish part of the menu was pretty slim pickins. I was hoping for bangers and mash or maybe Irish stew. Nope. Shepard pie had lamb in it. Not a fan of lamb and had fish last night -so I ultimately ordered the boneless wings. I like wings but hate the mess. Hubby got fish and chips. I was immediately disappointed when food arrived. Hubby's fish was just one average to small piece and over cooked. Not served w malt vinegar. He had to ask for lemon. My boneless wings were what disappointed me to the point of review. I ordered 10 because it was the only way to get dipping sauce without an up charge. I thought that would be a lot (hilarious) they were no bigger than a quarter and it was $14 with no sides -I was offered celery or carrots for another dollar The medium sauce I ordered was actually mild and the boneless wings were pressed meat.. Not even close to what I expected for $14. (So $1.40 each) The sweet potato fries I ordered cost extra and the portion was pretty small too. Now I know why it wasn't crowded on the Saturday before St Patrick's Day. Overall the atmosphere is fun but the food was far less than stellar-and WAY overpriced.

Best Friday night $5 Cheeseburger and $3 Long Islands!

When you think dive bar, this is the place that comes to mind. Is it rundown and in need of renovation? Yes. Is it not the cleanest place around? Yes. But this place has been around in Gainesville and it will always remind me of Gainesville. The server I had was great and super friendly. The food might not be amazing, but when the Friday night special is $5 cheeseburgers and $3 Long Islands, they are fantastic for that price. When I'm coming here, I'm not coming for ambiance. I come here for cheap food, cheap drinks, and to relive my college experience. And in that regards, they check every box :)

Corned beef and cabbage. Pretty tasty

We went on St Patrick's day, so I look forward to redoing this on a regular day. The crowd management was poor, the waitress held a table for her friends who came in behind the groups waiting and told everyone to find their own tables and if they didn't like it to go somewhere else. I found a guy leaving and went to stand by his table, I made small talk with the guy while he waited for his bill. He offered to let my wife and I sit with him while he waited. The waitress then came over and told me I was being rude for rushing the guy and told us to go stand back at the door. We were served by a different waitress who was nice. The food was good, the prices were fine and the Irish music and dancing was fun, they mostly made up for how bad the service started.

I've only gone for the 55 cent wing deal on Monday. The wings are great but too saucy, but the price is so cheap that I don't mind it. There was only one waitress during lunch time since it wasn't busy but she was great despite taking care of many tables. The flavors tasted very similar and I couldn't tell which was which but they all tasted good.

    Cheese pizza

I thought my wife had actually ordered real delivery pizza. When the driver handed me the boxes they were taped with painter's tape shut? The pizza's remind me of tostino's thin thin thin crust pizza.which is the worst pizza . Not sure what kind of sausage they put on the meat pizza tasted like breakfast sausage. At least the cheese pizza we got for our kids at the daycare looked and tasted reasonable. But What do you expect ordering from a bar establishment. Definitely on the bottom of my list

    Boneless wings and garlic knots.

The atmosphere is just the best and I always have a good time! Seating is first come, first serve or seat yourself situation. So if there is a big game, you should get there a couple hours early to ensure you get a seat. Otherwise you will be wondering the restaurant trying to pounce on an open seat the second you see one. We actually arrived 2.5 hours before the game even started and almost all the seats were taken already. While this can be a little chaotic, it really adds to the experience of eating here on a game day! It was absolutely PACKED for the national championship, people were even bringing chairs from home to sit outside. We ended up sitting at a small outdoor bar. Our bartender or server, Maddie, was excellent. She made sure we were satisfied the whole time and did a great job checking in on us. She was also super friendly and great to talk to! Considering how busy it was, the food didn't take too long to come out. When it is super busy, you can order food at the bar (inside or outside one) and don't need to have a table to receive service. The staff did a great job keeping up with everything and making sure things were running as efficiently as possible. For the food, the five of us started with an order of mozzarella sticks and their famous buffalo chicken dip. The mozzarella sticks are a new menu item and feature golden-fried mozzarella sticks, crunchy on the outside and gooey on the inside, served with ranch marinara. These were really, really good, with a nice cheese pull and the perfect amount of breading. I was quite surprised with how tasty these were! The Buffalo chicken dip consists of pulled chicken mixed with buffalo wing sauce, melted cheddar, pepper jack, and cream cheese, finished with ranch and an extra kick of hot sauce, served with tortilla chips, celery, and carrots. This was AMAZING and a perfect starter for the table to share. Served in a cast iron skillet, the portion is huge and the dip is super flavorful and creamy. There weren't enough chips served with the dip for all of us, but our server was happy to give us a complimentary tray of chips. I can easily see why this is a favorite and I will definitely be ordering this next time I come here! I also got a side Caesar salad and thought that was great as well. It was a nice portion, with fresh romaine, shredded Parmesan cheese, croutons, and capers. We ordered our entrees around kickoff, I ended up getting the Founder's Club Sandwich. The Founder's Club included a grilled chicken breast topped crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, provolone cheese, served on toasted sourdough bread, with a side of swamp sauce. All the entrees come with fries, unless you want to upgrade to another side or request not to have them. I really enjoyed this sandwich. The chicken had a nice char to it and was surprisingly juicy. I appreciated the sourdough bread over a regular bun as well. The subtleness of the provolone cheese and the fresh tomato were great too! Overall, we had an awesome time watching the CFB national championship at The Swamp. The atmosphere and vibes are unmatched. Service was awesome and the workers there are so on top of things. Food hit the spot and the Buffalo chicken dip was our favorite. Can't wait to come back!!
