We were shocked because you can barely get fast food for that price these days, let alone a freshly cooked meal. My steak was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The tater tots were hot and crispy, and my husband said his burger was delicious as well. They also have a decent sized parking lot, and the drinks were very reasonably priced. Our waitress was brand new, and despite it being her first day, she did a great job. We appreciated that she wasn't afraid to ask questions to make sure everything was correct. I was immediately disappointed when food arrived. Hubby's fish was just one average to small piece and over cooked. Not served w malt vinegar. He had to ask for lemon. My boneless wings were what disappointed me to the point of review. I ordered 10 because it was the only way to get dipping sauce without an up charge. I thought that would be a lot (hilarious) they were no bigger than a quarter and it was $14 with no sides -I was offered celery or carrots for another dollar The medium sauce I ordered was actually mild and the boneless wings were pressed meat.. How this filthy dump remains open is a bit of a mystery. I know very few who will eat here and it is filthy and in disrepair. I cannot imagine the amount of energy she must expend. Why not put that energy into cleaning the kitchen and the bar, fixing up the interior, training the waitstaff and making Mother's welcoming to people other than their cult followers who for some reason like this place. I found a guy leaving and went to stand by his table, I made small talk with the guy while he waited for his bill. He offered to let my wife and I sit with him while he waited. If I could give 0 stars I would! This establishment should be closed permanentl. I had a terrible and unsafe experience at this restaurant. While already receiving poor service, I asked the bartender to close my tab and return my card. Instead of promptly returning it, she continued holding onto my card, which led to a verbal altercation. Shockingly the situation escalated to her physically pushing me in the face Then proceeded to call me racial slur. It is very cleat that this establishment does not welcome people of color as a Vast number of employees and other customers proceeded to also yell racial terms. I've only gone for the 55 cent wing deal on Monday. The wings are great but too saucy, but the price is so cheap that I don't mind it. I was first introduced to Mother's by some work colleagues who go all the time. I finally checked it out with them and this place definitely lives up to the term dive-bar. It's dimly-lit, with plenty of TVs, a massive length of a bar, and people from all walks of life. Mother's offers daily drink and food specials, including $2 Miller Lite. There is plenty of seating at high tables, the bar, or booths. There's a pool table and you can rent the balls by the hour. Monday night is wing night where wings are $0.50 each. I usually get their boneless wings and while they have over a dozen different sauces to choose from, I have come to see that the hot garlic is the only way to go. I've always gotten food from Mother's, mostly take out but this time I had a bad experience placing my take out order. I placed my order and was told a payment was needed which all the times I have been before that was never the case, I always paid when I picked up my food. I proceeded anyways and the person taking my order said my card declined which I immediately got a text from my bank saying my card was declined because my 3-digit cvv code was entered incorrectly. I told the woman on the phone and she got an attitude and said I can just cancel your order but I never said I wanted to, she apologized with an attitude in her tone and the card went went through when she entered it correctly. I hung up and immediately called back and told her to cancel my order because that was not acceptable customer service and she said they already started making my food, I literally called back a minute later. I understand wanting to keep costs down, but this "new" location feels old because almost nothing has changed since mothers took over. This location is meant to be more of a restaurant than the midtown location. But it's just a bar. Great place to go sit by a bar have a couple cheap beers and watch some football games. My party made the mistake of coming here for food. I can assure you, I won't make that mistake twice. The server was fine she knew the menu and treated us very kindly, but the food was terrible. I ordered the tacos, my fiancé ordered a quesadilla and her brother got a burger. The burger was the only thing on the menu that was worth eating. I am not exaggerating, if you come here, only order the burgers and fries. The taco meat must have been the lowest quality meat I've had in my entire life. All of the ingredients; the lettuce, the cheese, even down to the tortilla were just the lowest of qualities. The waitress asked if we wanted celery or carrots with them. We didn't plan to get anything with the wings but assumed they came with them since she asked. The we ordered a burger and again asked what side we wanted as she listed fries,side salad etc. When we received the bill we were charged for a large nacho(10$) and extra for that carrots and side salad.
