I would give them 6 stars if that was an option. My son and daughter-in-law used this company to help them pack up their condo. Their closing date changed at the last minute, and Cary was very accommodating and helpful. The two gentlemen who helped them pack up were outstanding. They were professional and polite. They kept track of the time they were working and let me son know how much longer it might take and the cost. That way my son could decide in advance what to have them pack and what to leave for later. He felt that the movers were efficient and used their time wisely. Like many others, I highly dislike moving. I like getting rid of unnecessary, old items; I like rearranging the new space and making it mine; I even like deep cleaning the new place as a ritual of making it mine. It's the moving part that I don't like. The whole driving back and forth with car loads (or truck loads) of items. No, thank you. Cue Motivated Movers/Tony and Chris. They were professional, friendly, and had great communication, confirming our appointment and showing up right on time. In addition to those wonderful traits, both Tony and Chris were super efficient. I have never seen anyone carry stuff up and down a flight of stairs so quickly, nor have I ever seen a truck packed so neatly and perfectly... with *plenty* of room to spare! Professionals, for sure. Tony and Chris were also very careful with our belongings (ex. they carefully took apart our Ikea bed frame, which is due to be exchanged soon, and even more carefully moved said bed frame. Not one Ikea bolt or piece was missing or broken!). It was my first time hiring movers, so I learned a couple of things: - they will only move things that are boxed and have lids, and - drawers should have clothes removed from them. ^Oops on the second point for me :x Tony and Chris were kind enough to still move my chest of drawers; they removed each drawer to make moving the whole piece more feasible. Thank you!! Tony and Chris did an amazing job. They made this recent move less stressful and I cannot recommend them enough. With that said... I still dislike moving. But! Tony and Chris made things (read: my life) easier. We're definitely calling them for our next move! And next time, Tony, I'm going to make sure to take the clothes out of the drawers so you won't take points from our score ;) read more

I recently moved 19 miles and it took from 10:00 AM to past midnight and the next day. Dishonest pricing estimate, way above estimate. I had a choice of two movers but decided to go with Motivated Movers because I am so grateful for their service to the country. MISTAKE!! If you have "STUFF" and don't care how it is handeled and shoved into the wrong size truck, go with them. But if you have antiques and like things to be handeled with more care and consideration, they are definitely not your movers. To shorten the story, I moved a 100 year old statue that was in perfect condition but indtead of being lifted by the base, it was lifted by the arm and broken He was honest enough to tell me that he "accidentaly" broke it and will try to repair it. Two months later , no repair. What's worse is that when I emailed him to inquire the status, he was annoyed with me and would send me a copy of the contract while writing that he is working on it. I know when he reads this review he will be defensive and deny it and will say I did not pack properly when he told me it would be safe. His emails were rude and at one point he told me NOT to email him again. I can go on but hopefully the reader gets the picture of my moving experience. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. We used Motivated Movers previously to move a very heavy table/pool table and that went well, so when we moved homes, I immediately contacted Motivated Movers and was pleased that the rate was very reasonable. That's about where anything good to say can end. Long story short, they did not finish the move, and when Chris the owner told us he would come a couple of days later to finish the move, he no showed, didn't answer our calls or texts, and basically ghosted us, leaving me and my husband to finish the move ourselves. Here's the long story - when I secured the services, Chris told me his wife was pregnant and due on that day, but regardless, he was able to do the move as his employees would be there whether or not he was. A day before the move Chris told me his wife was being induced but he would send his best 2 employees and that the move would still go on. Come the day of the move, I get a call at 0730 telling me that the truck he had reserved for the move had been given away and that he was doing everything he could to secure another truck, but as it is unlikely he could, could we proceed with the move the next day. I was not happy but what could I do? 30 minutes later I get a call from his employee asking if I had canceled the move as that is what he was told, however he was at Uhaul attempting to rent the truck as we speak. Ok, confusing morning, but let's get it done! Looking better right? No. They arrive to the house about 1.5 hours after we initially expected them, and with no tools. If my husband didn't have every tool available, I don't know what they would have done. Then as they took apart the bed frames, they took random screws out that didn't need to be removed, stripped many screws, and did not put all of the screws, nuts and bolts into the zip lock bag my husband provided for each bed - meaning when it came time to put the bed together, we were missing parts. And no, they do not put your furniture back together for liability reasons. Between my husband and I, we have moved at least 20 times in the past 10-15 years, and I have never had a company take apart the furniture but not put them back together. But back to the 2 movers. They couldn't even bother to pick up and carry the mattresses, instead dragging all 5 of them on the ground so they got dirty. They had to be told multiple times that everything was going and yet did not take everything and they did not know how to stack items in the truck resulting in 2 trips, and STILL did not manage to finish the move. They were clearly not his "best employees" and seemed like they had never done a move before. They also did not wear masks. I was at the new house, but my husband was with them and basically had to watch them like a hawk. He was not happy and complained to Chris about everything. Chris responded likewise, saying that the 2 employees would never step foot in his shop again and that he would come out personally on Monday to finish the move. And there was still quite a bit left behind! We paid a partial amount that day and Chris said he would collect the rest on Monday. Our mistake. Come Monday at 0830, we arrive to our old house and wait for Chris. And wait. And text. And wait. Nothing. Finally my husband receives a response from Chris' wife who said she had to have emergency surgery, but Chris is at home and she will speak to him and get to us. Then nothing. First I want to say, we get that he obviously had other more pressing issues, like his baby and his wife requiring surgery, but COMMUNICATE that to us. Don't just ghost us. We would have understood. But he chose to no show. Me and my husband had no choice but to complete the move ourselves. What should have happened from the very start was to say sorry, I can't do the move, I'm having a baby! But no, he decides to send 2 incompetent guys who couldn't complete the job. Then when it comes time to make things right, he again fails to communicate with us that he can't do it because of complications with his wife, and instead ghosts us! I am livid. Obviously. And am now in the process of seeking legal recourse. I really am the last person to respond this way, but to experience such unprofessionalism and disrespect, I am at a breaking point and feel there is no other way but to respond in kind. As said previously, between my husband and I, we have moved 20+ times in the past 10 years, and NEVER have I ever experienced anything like this. It has been a nightmare. I was researching movers and found "Motivated movers" online. They replied to me immediately with a quote and scheduled the move. Very easy! They showed up on time and even found our house (which is far away and has no cell service). They are nice and friendly, and were very organized and efficient. Took great care of our stuff, even though it all IKEA- they treated it with care. They brought pads, cords, dolly etc. They kept everything clean and organized. They wouldn't even let me buy them Gatorade. They brought their own! They were so considerate they even picked up some trash they found in my new driveway. Also, very respectful to Women. I felt comfortable (which I didn't expect from two strangers being in our home). They are good people. I am so happy I found them! Highly recommended! Thanks guys! read more

Absolute professionals. Chris and Tony moved everything out of my studio and into my new home. Arrived promptly at our scheduled time of 9am and completed the 'move out' in under 2 hours. This was impressive given my studio was on the second floor and included a fridge, couch, and queen size bed. The 'move in' also included a flight of stairs and they were complete in 1 hour. I can't recommend Motivated Movers enough! I reached out to them and got a reply almost immediately to schedule our appointment. The morning of the move I got a call that their truck had broken down and that we'd need to reschedule. That wasn't an option for me and I started to (more or less) panic. They could sense that and they made it work! They got their corporate pickup truck and just had to make a couple extra trips to get all my stuff. Tony was sick and still came to help drive! I was SO appreciative how they went above and beyond what they needed to do for such a reasonable price. They were timely (even with the breakdown), so friendly and efficient! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Apparently they are under new management. They confirmed with me the Monday leading up to my move, and the day before. On the morning of the move, they were to arrive at 9:30 a.m. I got a text at 9:15 saying they would be there at 9:40 a.m. and the move would get done today. At 9:22 a.m. I got a call from the new manager and he said they were having issues with the Uhaul and it would be a little bit but not to worry they would take care of me. At 10:17 a.m. I got a text saying they were cancelling because they don't have any help because they didn't hire enough employees when they took over the company. So not only did they cancel an hour AFTER they were supposed to be here, but they lied about the delay when they were just going to cancel anyway. If they would have cancelled the day prior instead of confirming I could have found a different company. Oh, and when the manager called me right after he sent the text he was cancelling, he told me I need to calm down. Good luck to anyone who ignores this review. read more

Found them on Yelp and after getting multiple quotes and reading everyones reviews I chose Motivated Movers and I am so glad I did. Booked them about a month in advance because I had tight schedule. I rented a U-haul and had them pack that so I could drive it 9hrs up North. The communication throughout was great and they told me the materials that I should get since they couldn't use because I was not able to return them which was so helpful because I wasn't scrambling last minute to get the packing items to safely pack my things. They arrived on time with masks and were so helpful throughout the whole process. Even though it was a flat rate they worked their butts off and got it done fast. They asked halfway through if I wanted to take a look at the U-haul and man was I impressed with how it was packed with not an inch to spare. They were so thoughtful with the way they packed the items insuring that if things moved during the drive it would be protected. When I got to my destination the other moving company asked who packed it because you could tell he was shocked with the preciseness of all the boxes/furniture! I appreciate their professionalism, their friendliness and care for all of my household good.
