I had to get mover quickly when I got a call from Upack that our container had arrived in SD and we had 2 days to get our stuff out of the terminal at the 92121 ABF location. I was feeling a little stressed and came to yelp to get mover quotes from multiple movers. I ended up picking Sunshine Moving and was so grateful they were able to accommodate a next day move for a very reasonable price and they did a great job for us. The movers showed up early at the ABF location. I was so happy to see them as we were already there. They helped us unload the items from the container to their truck and then drove to our place. They did a great job and were very careful with our items. There is a 3 hour minimum but they were done well before then since we opted to do the unpacking of the boxes ourselves. They did help us bring the heavy items up the stairs and placed them in the location we requested. I would definitely use them again for our next move. read more

While my original experience with how the storage unit was packed was frustrating, the owner followed up, took responsibility, and sent a team back out to reorganize everything at no additional cost. The second team, Erkosh, Diego, and Rocky did a much better job organizing the unit, creating a walkway, properly placing furniture, and taking extra care with wrapping and securing items. In addition, the company offered a partial refund to make up for the inconvenience, which I appreciate. Overall, while the initial experience wasn't ideal, I do value the effort made to correct it and the level of customer service shown in resolving the issue. ---------------------- UPDATE: After posting my original review, the company reached out to me directly almost immediately and offered to come back and reorganize my storage unit at no additional cost. For approximately $650 for about 3 hours of work, I expected a reasonable level of care, organization, and professionalism. While the team did move my belongings into the storage unit, the way everything was packed showed a clear lack of attention to detail. Large, fragile items like my flat-screen TVs were placed directly at the unit's entrance, making them vulnerable to damage. Boxes were stacked without any clear organization; many were turned around so that labels were not visible; and items were not arranged stably or logically. Several belongings I specifically wanted to keep accessible are now buried and difficult to reach. Additionally, some items were packed into boxes by the movers without any labels or indication of what was inside, making it even more difficult to locate essential items. Trash -- including food waste -- was also left behind in my cart, which created a strong odor and is completely unacceptable in a storage environment. I had communicated ahead of time that I was not feeling well, and I was reassured that the team would take care of everything so I wouldn't have to worry. I did briefly step away to get cash for payment and ensure nothing was left behind at the apartment, and when I returned, the truck had already been fully unloaded and packed into the unit. Despite this, I had provided clear instructions on how certain items (especially electronics) should be handled and stored, but they were not followed. I am only now able to fully assess the condition of the unit after recovering from illness, and the issues with how everything was packed are still clearly evident. Even without constant supervision, I expected a basic level of professionalism. Instead, the packing felt rushed and careless, and I now have to go back and reorganize the unit myself. We walked through the entire place and Sam asked if I would like anything specially wrapped in plastic to ensure the items do not get damaged. Good moving experience with Sunshine movers! It was easy to get a quote and get scheduled less than a week before our move. We did get an afternoon slot, and when the movers morning job took longer than they estimated, we got a late start and didn't finish up till almost midnight. i Hired this company to move me. They came on a Saturday, and started moving my belongings.when the truck was loaded they went back inside and noticed that the valve for the icemaker was dripping and attempted to shut it off. When I came the next day, kitchen and the bedroom behind the kitchen were both flooded. I had to pay over $5,000 to have walls and carpet taken out and repaired. I asked them to help me on for it, but they refused, saying that it wasn't their fault. We got a quote from this place for $108 an hour, it ended up being $200 an hour and we were told they can move us in 4 hours with the estimate of the house we gave them. It ended up being 12 hours and double hours for driving 18 miles, plus the cost of gas, for them to move us, costing us nearly $3,000 to move within the same county. With the price, you would think we moved states. They took their sweet-ass time wrapping things that didn't need to be wrapped and boxing things that didn't need to be boxed. One guy even sat on our couch taking a break for nearly an hour while one guy did all the work. They were moving things into our garage and tons of things broke, even with their "exceptional wrapping and boxing" of our stuff. I have moved from different counties, with my house being 4,000 sq. ft. of stuff and same amount of moving guys, in 4 hours, and even moved two years ago with a different moving company (they didn't have any availability that weekend we're moving), costing us less than $500 to move 3,000 sq. ft. worth of stuff and gas. When my husband confronted them about it, they said "that's the contract you signed". They're crooks who are finding ways to to steal your money.
