We didn't quite hit that, but at no point did it feel like anyone was wasting time. The crew hustled the entire job. They listened to how I wanted to prioritize the move. We focused on large furniture first, got all the key items handled, then worked through the rest. Communication was constant. They asked questions, followed direction, and adjusted quickly without any pushback. The team was professional the whole time. No hesitation, even with heavy items or sending things upstairs. Everything was wrapped appropriately, not overdone, just done right. Nothing was damaged, and they were careful with walls and flooring throughout. We had discussed heavier items and drive time ahead of time, and everything was handled fairly. No surprises. I also compared pricing beforehand, and their rate of $199/hour (cash) plus the $60 truck fee was in line with what I was seeing. We ended up at about 3 hours 45 minutes total and paid $825, which felt great for the level of effort and coordination involved. Every move is different, but there were no surprises. I am so grateful to Vik and Baha for all of their help today. I was really overwhelmed and didn't realize I had so many things so the move was a bit hectic. I kept adding more things to the list since I realized I had forgotten so many things and they had the nicest attitude. Every request was met with, "of course!" They were just so kind, so positive, and very thorough. I even said I didn't want to pack a certain furniture item and Vik kindly said, are you sure? And I was sure at the time but then it turns out I was wrong and I did need it. When I realized I did need it, Vik said "of course!" He was never frustrated or showed any annoyance at all. It was time to move recently and knew that I could not do it by myself so I decided to reach back out to San Diego Packing Movers about doing my move again as I loved working with them years prior. They are super helpful and efficient with getting everything secured nicely and wrapped in moving blankets to ensure nothing breaks during the moving process. I will say I was a little upset by all of the additional charges that occurred once the process was done. I remember that last time I used them the price they quoted me for everything was exactly what I got in the end after calculating the amount of hours and mileage and this time was not like that. There were multiple additional charges that were confusing to me and I ended up paying hundreds of dollars more than I expected to. Maybe that is on me for not getting a better quote but that was definitely disappointing after everything being so clear years prior. read more

What stood out to me about their quote is that there is no gray area and no added fees that you'd start to see after requesting quotes from other moving companies locally. I would highly recommend them to any one of my friends moving. My movers were Sasha and Bob, and Marat was the mastermind admin who was very responsive to my questions. He provided a confirmation quote 2 days after we agreed on the time/date. On the day of the move, the movers arrived 10 minutes early, after giving a 15-minute heads up that they were on their way in the morning. Communication = Key. They came and took a quick scan and got to moving right away, only needing a 5-ish minute water break the entire time. It was clear that part of my kitchen was still not packed (we ran out of tape and miscalculated how many boxes we needed the night before) - we were behind for that room, and they offered not once but twice if we needed extra boxes - super nice of them! And overall this saved me from lugging those extra things with me separately in my car. During the route from SD to OC, they did have to stop at a weighing station and a gas station, and they were upfront about it. I moved out of state, and these guys helped me move all my belongings into a moving pod. They were so efficient, and packed everything nicely for me (I have a lot of art and canvases they had to wrap up). They brought moving supplies (boxes, moving blankets, tape, etc), directly asked me questions to divide up the tasks, and then just got to work. They worked quickly but were very thorough and neat, didn't make a mess, and let me know where they put certain small items (like screws and remotes) so I know where they are. There were zero issues from beginning to end, and everyone had a really positive attitude the whole time. It made moving so much easier! Even organizing everything into the pod was a tight fit, but the guys got the job done like a game of furniture Tetris. I lived in San Diego for 16 years and moved about 5 times with movers, each time with a different company because they were always too slow, or would break things, and tended to be very sloppy. My move: less than 1 bedroom's worth of belongings without any large furniture; no packing support; no dis/assembly support. The areas that I was extremely dissatisfied with: 1. The movers were late by 50 minutes. Despite confirming with me via text the day before and by email a week before the move, that they would arrive on time at 9:00am. They got started 50min later than call time. 2. Disorganized and poor communicating management staff. While the dispatched movers were clueless yet respectful, management seemed disorganized, unprofessional, and inexperienced at communicating with me or with them. Furthermore this company attempted to charge me with hidden fees that they neither informed me of prior to the move or had written anywhere on my confirmation or invoice. 3. Operations and logistics and communications are a mess at this company. They are new and inexperienced and it shows. Everything from payment processing, to moving procedures were incredibly scrambled. I had to speak to multiple people about my final invoice dispute, and these people did not communicate with each other, causing me a hassle to have to re-explain the same things for payment correction. 4. Lack of integrity. I fully admit that it made me angry and feel like I was being swindled for additional charges for services not rendered, nonetheless described. I ended up overpaying more than the quoted and described amount. In truth, I paid more than the move was worth and should've stuck to a previous business which I had relied upon before. 5. In Summary: I believe that I had a very simple and straightforward move. My items totaled to be less than 1 bedroom's worth of belongings - with no assembly or large furniture to transport (tvs, fridge, mattress) and this company still couldn't execute correctly. The total move took about 1 hour (9:50am - 11:07am) and I believe was only efficiently completed because I was onsite at both locations to monitor and direct the movers. We scheduled a few days in advance for a couple movers for a local move and mentioned we already had a moving truck. The day of my move, customer service called to inform us that the movers were on their way, which was right on time. They also showed up with their own moving truck. We had everything packed, wrapped and ready to go with moving carts and dolly's, however they used all their own. We had 2 movers for 3 hours. This review is a little late, so I apologize, I do not remember the movers names. After reading some reviews, I was initially concerned if they were going to show up on time, work fast or slow, take breaks during my scheduled time, damage items... One of the guys spoke little English, both were kind, organized and worked fast. We actually had to stay out of their way. They loaded and unloaded theirs and our moving truck. I had a fairly difficult move -- heavy furniture and appliances and stairs. The guys worked hard and smart. In fact, the two completed the move in less time than four men from Purely Move a couple years ago! And they were friendly, polite, and careful. Nothing was damaged. I've hired at least 8 different moving companies and this was by far the best moving company. Competitive pricing, scheduled the job with short notice, and also the guys called about 20 minutes prior to arrival and were precisely on time. I lean on Yelp a ton for honest reviews and when I wrote my original review, this company had their lead worker standing next to me as I wrote it and then he photographed the review and sent it to his manager. That being said here is my honest review of this company: I would not recommend them. The three guys that we hired were very nice but they were so slow which ended up costing more for us in the end. Other moving companies that we reached out to were more expensive but in hindsight they were probably much more accurate with their pricing and had more efficient workers which would have ended up costing less. One of the movers loaded too many boxes on his dolly and they fell in front of my husband. We are assessing all of the broken items as we unpack but so far we have several broken vases, a broken coffee pot, a broken beverage container, a broken crock pot, and a broken waffle maker. They also scratched our new hardwood floors. I am giving them two stars and not one because they were very friendly and they did work hard. I would just recommend another moving company over this one. I wouldn't hire them again. And I really didn't like that the company pressures into giving 5 stars for Yelp reviews. read more

This company was excellent! I had originally booked them for a specific date not knowing if I would get approved for my apartment and/ not having a storage unit yet. They worked with me so well and were patient even when I canceled and rescheduled the date about 3 times. Thank you for working with me! On the day of the move, they did well keeping me informed and sent our courtesy text to ensure everything was still good. My team was Alex, Vlad and Amin. My move was a bit confusing since some of the stuff had to go to a storage unit and the other straight to my apartment. Alex did a fantastic job ensuring that they packed up the right items and had me do a check each time they finished an area just to make sure they did not miss anything. When we got to my storage unit, they had to work even extra hard because the truck was too tall to fit under the awning which cause more walking and hauling to the elevator. I was pretty tired so I'm sure they were exhausted. This team worked extra hard and maintained professionalism throughout the whole work experience. Thank you for taking care of my move. We accomplished a very complicated (three-way) move with the help of San Diego Packing Movers, and I couldn't be more grateful for the Mike and Bob's dedication and professionalism. Before the move: To begin, I reached out for moving services all over Yelp about 2 weeks in advance. I decided on San Diego Packing Movers because their prices were competitive and they were very responsive. Securing a day was super easy, and we had confirmation quickly. Since I was moving out of town (15 mi.+ distance), I was aware of the policy of charging double time during the commute. I informed them that I have a 2 BR condo + storage unit, but it should only take a few hours. I was informed by Mike that they recommend 3 movers at this size of a move, which would be more cost efficient. (And they were right. I declined this option because i thoroughly underestimated the move and how long it takes, WHOOPS.) The day of the move: Mike reached out the morning of to confirm the arrival address, and they were right on time at the storage unit with a ginormous 26' truck. They were meticulous about ensuring that the antique furniture in my storage unit are wrapped and protected from the move. There were many pieces of glass shelves, and they were very careful about wrapping these carefully prior to transport. We then moved to my parents condo and realized that they have wayyy too much stuff. Mike and Bob tirelessly took apart the furniture legs as needed, carefully wrapped the nails etc. to the furnitures, and moved everything efficiently. Before long, my condo was emptied out. In the end, even though we were very strategic about making sure that the furniture were stacked carefully into the 26 footer truck, it was full to the brim, but everything fit minus 1 set of garden furniture. I appreciated that they did everything they can to accommodate all the stuff, and didn't complain one bit. By the time that we got to the destination, it was already late afternoon. They did a quick tour of the house and determined the best route of movement and got right to work. Within about 2 hours, the entire 26' truck was emptied! Movers We loved working with Mike and Bob! They were super nice and efficient. When Bob saw that we were struggling with a hand screw driver, he offered to loan us his power tools. During the entire 4.5 hours of loading, the crew of 2 actually didn't rest or have time to eat... I don't know how they do it, but they got this crazy move done and it was as smooth as we could've expected - and we're super thankful! I don't plan on moving anytime soon - but when I next do... When I asked about potential claims because it wasn't my house I was given an international phone number. To be fair I didn't bother reaching out to it.
