But he said not to worry because he took a whole tail light assembly off the shelf and opened the package and took the lens cover off and sold that to me. I'm not a huge customer. My HS friend worked there for decades. The guys there couldn't be nicer. They help me with my wipers, key batteries, etc. That is why I go back Then there is the lady behind the register. I needed a battery for my key. "I'll sell you the battery but you have to put it in yourself." That's it. Never offered to help. I told her the other person put it in for me before and she said they shouldn't have. Period. I went into Glenview IL location this morning and I tell you it was not pleasant at all. Lady employee at register was talking with another customer about me "look at this guy, with no mask", then she looks at me and asks me to put a mask, I am vaccinated I told her, but she said it doesn't matter, I need a mask. I have my card with me at all times. I been going into other stores with no problem since the CDC and state of IL lifted the restrictions. It made me feel very uncomfortable so I left the store without purchase. I usually stop by this place for any needs for my car since it is on the way to my office. Today I ran into a grumpy old guy, short white hair with glasses, at the counter with a very bad customer service attitude. I showed him a pic on my phone I took on the dashboard and he replied with condescending laughs and humiliated body language like "so what do you want me to do?" w/o even try to find out more info. I am a die hard customer of Glenbrook auto parts. they always have the right prices, and the best parts. the customer service is unbeatable. Steve and Justin and Marcin are the guys I normally deal with and they are great. They know me by name and always greet me when I walk in. Steve is super respectful to my girlfriend who otherwise knows nothing about cars. if you need a part they dont have in stock, theyl ship it for you in a couple hours you pick it up. i was installing a sub frame k member onto my camaro and one of the bolt holes was all gummed up on the frame. I thought i was screwed so i went into Napa. I explained to Steve my problem and he took me to the tool section and showed me exactly what I would need and a detailed explanation on how to do it. He didn't even try to sell me the expensive part, just the basic one and it worked FLAWLESSLY. I went in and talked to Justin after a second caliper on my truck seized. I asked about a grease I could put on my pins to keep them from seizing. he showed me this purple stuff and said it was what he used. a big bottle was $8. 3 years later, I've done a lot of caliper pins and not one has ever seized. i came back in a few days later and asked Justin if he had anything to help stop brake squeaks long term. instead of selling me something new he told me that the stuff i bought the other day works good too. it doesn't, it works perfectly. Great guy. This is one of the few auto parts stores open on Sundays. when i walk in I get a warm hello from the guys. they always have tips for me and have yet to not know the answer to any of my questions. I ask them about a part or a product and they take me around the store and show me what I'm looking for. I would reccomend this store to anyone who needs anything automotive related. read more

I've always gone here for my parts and have always been very pleased with their customer service. The other day however they went above and beyond. I needed a new battery so I drove the car there intending to exchange the old one and install the new one on site. I brought some box wrenches so I'd have what I needed to take the old one out. I always forget about the retaining clip way down at the base of the battery though so I needed a socket set with an extension. I expected them to tell me I was out of luck, or that I'd have to buy one off the shelf. But the guy behind the counter was cool enough to let me borrow his personal set.
