This is down the street from Equinox, so it's a perfect post workout meal! They even have rolls without rice, and they're SO yummy If you ask for no rice in a handroll, they will charge you a few bucks without disclosing. Customer service isn't great (in college I was a waitress and in fine dining, the customer is always right) but it's just a sushi spot for after the gym or something casual, not a date night destination. read more

My son and I had to check this new place out since we live within walking distance. Ordered some Ikura which was perfect, and the Moto Special. Had enough room to share their fried banana with Green Tea Ice Cream which was to die for! Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Place felt a little cramped but otherwise it was a decent dinner. We had a very nice dinner here on a Sunday night. Great service and good food. Most importantly, the music was playing not too loudly, I'm tired of many places where you can't even hear the person in front of you because of the obnoxious music. Ordered sushi lunch, sashimi lunch, and unagi donburi lunch. I read the reviews and thought this place would be a good try. Came in and there were seats so that's a plus, no wait. But that's the only good part I guess.. Here goes all the other bads.-. First, sushi lunch: menu said 14 pieces w an extra roll from menu. We thought it was a good deal, but when it came... 6 pieces of sushi??? With 8 pieces of them cheap spicy tuna roll sushi??? That's terrible! Definitely not what we were expecting.. second, sashimi lunch: probably same issue with this. But instead of the issue w pieces, the fish I feel have a fishy taste.. Not sure if the soft texture means it's been let out for too long or just not fresh anymore.. usually soft and melty is good, but idk about this place. Third, unagi donburi: it's probably the best out of the 3 dishes we ordered. The eel is on the thinner and small side though and sauce seems a bit too sweet..but at least not 'fishy' hahahaha. Can't really mess this up really Then, the miso soup that came with the lunch was..well I guess salty but still ok. Lastly, usually Japanese restaurants offer green tea, so we assumed green tea would be offered here too and free. It wasn't on the menu and we didn't receive a drink menu either, so of course we wouldn't know. Ordered 3 green teas and the server never bothered to tell us they charge for it until the bills came.. shady... I've been coming to this restaurant for a little over a year now & I thought it was high time to update my review from 5 stars to a glaring 10 stars with all sorts of A++ in between. I am a huge sushi aficionado, specifically nigiri. I am more than willing to spend good money on amazing nigiri. I've been to Sushi Sasabune, Kiwami, Go's Mart, SugarFish & other places all over LA, Colorado & Portland that are less memorable. All for the search of good sushi. So I don't say it lightly when I say that out of every restaurant I've been to, Moto Sushi usurps everything else. On my first review, I fell in love with this place. ONE YEAR LATER, just when I thought this place couldn't be more amazing, I am, time & time again, PLEASANTLY disappointed. FOOD: Garo, the head sushi chef is a master at the art of sushi. He's amazing at what he does & I am always blown away by the food even though I come here at least once a month. I highly recommend their bluefin toro, ankimo, uni, salmon, yellowtail, amberjack (the only place I liked amberjack in) & red snapper. You will not regret it!! AMBIANCE: Modern & Comfortable SERVICE: Everyone here is pleasant. Garo is exceptionally amazing! Came here with a friend based on the yelp reviews. The interior is pretty modern, but a tad small. Parking can be done in a small parking lot-- which isn't too bad at all. Service was pretty good-- aside from the fact that they check up on you a little too much. But that's a good thing I guess. We ended up with the ME 3 (~$50)- which had like the Tuna Bomb, sashimi, and some sushi pieces. All the fish was pretty fresh and the Tuna Bomb Roll was pretty delicious! As much as the fish was fresh, I wish it was a little colder (I know, I'm weird). But nonetheless, it was pretty yummy! Also, the ME 3 would be a perfect portion for 2 people because it's not too filling. With that said, I really enjoyed this restaurant! Moto sushi is like your local lowkey sushi spot that hits every time. It's never too busy and that's the best part. Staff is very friendly and attentive. Sushi is fresh and tasty. What more could you honestly ask for? I've been twice so far and can't wait to go back. I'm not a huge fan of sushi rolls so I can't critique them. They're sashimi and nigiri are amazing. Glendale is known for its huge selection of restaurants . Diversity isn't Glendale's biggest plus when it comes to A+ quaint restaurants , since most high end clean quality restaurants are all Persian , Arminain or Lebanese . That is great don't get me wrong . Keeping in mind that Big food chains like CPK or The Cheese Cake Factory don't really count . Now as for Asian cuisine . MOTO is doing a great job when it comes to taste , quality and for the most part service . Iv been coming here for a while , i haven't givin' any newer sushi locations a chance since I haven't been disappointed yet with MOTO's . Moto Sushi is now my go to sushi joint out in Glendale/Burbank. The fish is always fresh and service is wonderful. My personal favorites are the Moto roll as well as anything yellowtail! A true hidden gem in this part of the city. read more

The first few times I came to this place I fell in love with it. Everything would be superb. Subsequently, on one occasion (second to last visit), I was left disappointed with my visit. The overall service was rather poor and slow. The employees did not display professionalism or any interest towards work. The food was also just not up to par. The restaurant was just not how I remembered it to be from my initial visits. However, during my most recent visit, I was once again satisfied and pleased with this restaurant. They have since recaptured my respect and business. The restaurant had seemingly learned from their mistakes, possibly from reading other similar yelpers comments. Service was good, and came with a smile! The food tasted delicious and correct. Thus, Moto Sushi is now once again one of my favorite sushi spots to visit. Just ok sushi, overpriced (which is par for the course for sushi), and a small place without much character. A little disappointed in the Yelp audience for this one, cause I expected better. Could be a decent lunch spot for sushi if you worked nearby, because its close to downtown Glendale. The other thing I didn't love is that it shares its parking lot with a number of other businesses, which is never much fun. And its a small parking lot at that, so I could see it being a hard place to find parking depending on when you arrive. I've been here on numerous occasion, but today 6/29/2017 was the worst! I generally bring my colleague from work or on my business lunch and the experience has been good, but today was an exception! I was meeting with my business partner and my client, I went and order a spicy scallop for me, and we proceed to order the ME1 special, which is a good selection when you do not have time to pick because it has some variety of sashimi and inari sushi. Everything was fine until the time to pick up the check, our waitress was angry because we did not finish the decoration cabbage, kale and shredded daikon (radish)!... She was insisting that we were supposed to finish the decoration items on our ME1 plate. 1) The fact that these are decorations to make the plate look beautiful, does not mean that it needs to be eaten up to the last shred. 2) The fact that no other sushi place demand that you finish everything, or lick your plate clean is absurd. 3) The fact that the waitress actually mimic my uncomfortable laugh (mocking) me AFTER I said that we do not want to finish the radish. In front of my business colleague was just ABSURD! I could have been fine if I was alone, but even my business colleague noticed the NOT so subtle mimicry of my laugh - which was done in poor taste. 4) The fact that we are a paying customer, and that we just come in here to eat without being berated or make fun of, because we didn't lick the plate clean. I have never been made so embarrassed before, especially in front of my business colleagues, this was not a good day. So in closing, I would probably not coming back here, especially after the embarrassment today. You've earned 1 STAR, Moto sushi! read more

Got the sushi and roll special, sushi was average at best, what really irks me though is that they seem to assume that everyone likes wasabi and puts it not only in top but also underneath the fish. Now I'm sure even for people who like wasabi would think that's too much. Are they trying to cover up spoiled fish? North Glendale was badly in need of a sushi spot, so I was pretty excited when these guys opened up about a year ago. Located in a strip mall on a busy street, Moto has quickly become a local favorite. While the menu may appear standard, they pride themselves on experimentation and in offering a few dishes you definitely won't find elsewhere. The bbq rib roll is really delicious, and the freshness of the sushi is always excellent. They are a bit pricier than most places, but when you're paying for quality, it's totally worth it. Two things i wish they would consider: more combination platters (and donkatsu, please!!), and offering delivery service! They would do really well to deliver in this neighborhood... Service is good, on the slower side place is clean but I was not a fan of the fish. I ordered three roles the sunshine the rainbow and sunrise I think is called and it all tasted the same ! Where to start? Firstly Id like to say ive had lots of different sushi from lots of different places. Ive had great sushi and ive had absolutely gross sushi. Moto is just a tease. Their picture of the baked lobster roll looks completely different from the actual thing. I ordered 3 rolls with my friends: the baked lobster as before, the baked blue crab, and avacado. The rolls themselves are extremely small. Now its not terrible, but it aint anything great either. You can go to sushi joint in Glendale as well and get double the rolls with half the price. The taste is just average at Moto. Now heres the biggest reason for the 1 star. I spent $40 on this. I split it with my friend, but these 3 rolls should not be $40. The taste and size isnt good at all compared to whats nearby and is in general pretty pricey. There is no happy hour. You want good sushi. Go to sushi joint during 4pm-7pm for happy hour where you will get your moneys worth. read more

So I've been dying to try their chirashi bowl for lunch because of all the great Yelp reviews. Let me tell you, the chirashi bowl was great! The fish was fresh and delicious. I can tell that the owners put great thought into presenting the dish because it was aesthetically pleasing even when it was in the to-go box. The best part of all this was that you can eat this assortment of fresh fish for only $15 (tax included) at lunch! I don't know about you but it's really hard to eat a high quality chirashi bowl at such a low price. Honestly, it feels like the quality of their sushi chef has gone down; the cuts aren't as good and occasionally I get some tough fibers in my sushi.
