So Moto Sushi is a very interesting place. service is definitely 5 stars, they were very attentive and kept checking in. I sat at the sushi bar and arrived an hour before they closed, however they were still very welcoming and took my order. In terms of the food, I would give Moto Sushi a 2-star rating. The sushi is very, very "un-fresh." i ordered two orders of salmon and not only was the fish not fresh, it was sliced so frugaly thin. I ordered another roll, i think called the Tuna bomb, and it was so potent that i had to refrain from making a face when i ate it. They say that they are famous for the 'sauce' that they developed, however the sauce really makes it into something completely different from what sushi enthusiasts normally eat. The quality of the fish is probably of my biggest concern. at first I thought it was the lighting that made the fish look not-so-appealing, however once you taste it, you realize the fish actually just is not fresh. I would suggest a different place, as the prices are comparable to other sushi places, if not more expensive. I think an order of salmon was $5 for two pieces. most places are in the 3.50-4.50 range. atmosphere was ok- kind of dark, and the chairs at the bar were really, really low. not sure if they plan on replacing those chairs or not, but its really awkward to sit so low and eat off a high counter at the sushi bar. waitresses, waiters, and the sushi bar chef were rockstars though, made an impression and i left satisfied because of their welcoming spirit. read more

Very surprising to have a "quality -sushi" food joint in a small corner of Pacific here in Glendale. Even you get it for "pick-up" the presentation was taken into attention. Love it! Contrary to some other reviews, I would say the prices for specialty rolls are pretty average, and normal sized. I ordered the Tuna Bomb and the Red Dragon. Both happened to have spicy tuna as part of them. The spicy tuna was surprisingly good and one of the better ones I've had. It had a nice but not overwhelming spice to it, and the texture was good and not mushy or slimy like it can sometimes be. I had been waiting impatiently to give this place a try since it opened up. I went in on a Friday night around 9:30 and it was packed! Thankfully there was a table open and we were seated immediately. The place is crammed with tables and there's barely any room to move. They do close at 10:30 which I thought was strange for a Friday night. The place died down after 9:45 and we were the only ones there. The menu was descriptive and I loved that they had pictures of the rolls on it as well. The truffle garlic edamame was pretty good. We got the moto special, the tuna bomb, the baked lobster roll and the crispy onion. The moto special was really fresh and light weight, but warning: the sauce on the plate is extremely spicy. The tuna bomb had a great fusion of flavors, it was my favorite. The baked lobster was also not bad, but I have had better. Lastly, the crispy onion goes great when dipped into some spicy mayo. Only getting four rolls and an appetizer, it's safe to say that it is overpriced for the location. We spent $100 with the tip included. While the quality of the fish is great and so are their rolls, I'm not sure I'll be coming back at these prices. read more

4 1/2 stars. This is our go to place for sushi in the neighborhood. It's awesome that we have a place in the neighborhood that has great quality fish and sushi chefs that obviously care about their craft. This is a family owned business, and they're super friendly and attentive. They always remember us, which is a nice touch. We always sit at the bar and order some nigiri and handrolls, and it doesn't disappoint. We have also tried some food from the kitchen like the agedashi tofu, edamame, miso soup, etc, which were also good. They enjoy what they do and it shows. When they have a new fish, they tell us about it and ask us to try it, which shows their enthusiasm for their goods and for what they do. If you don't want to drive to Studio City or somewhere else for sushi that isn't omakase in Glendale (Sushi Sasabune and Sushi Nishiya also great in Glendale, but omakase and pricey!), then this is a great alternative! Food is great, service is ok, prices are way too high. I consider the prices too "high" relative to what you get for it. The price was around $5-6 for regular two piece nigiri sushi. That's absurdly high for standard restaurant-grade nigiri. Again, it's all relative, the $5-6 sushi is identical to $2-3 sushi you can find in many equivalent sushi restaurants. Continuing on the price, when you're paying $16 for your standard 8-piece sushi rolls, you expect them to at least throw in free edamame or miso soup or something. Nope that's all extra. In addition, they didn't bring out the wasabi + ginger, and didn't even give us napkins or table cloths! I felt this place was really trying to save pennies off of each customer in addition to the already high prices. To be completely honest, I suspect this place's goal is to just pick up buzzed and drunk patrons of a very crowded nearby bar, and they know they can increase the prices steeply and people will still come in. read more

My boyfriend and i's first time here was take out, and second time around was dine in. The quality of their sushi is amazing, and i love the fact that they dont put too much rice and neither do they put extra random crazy sauces that make sushi extra fattening! Starting off with the parking lot of this place, it is very small and very difficult to find parking. Please enter through the right side of the entrance to prevent traffic jams! The place itself is really small but very cozy. They have the sushi bar in the back so you could see the owners make your food which is always nice. For dinner we ordered 3 rolls and a yakiudon to be split amongst my boyfriend and I. For rolls we got the viking roll, crunchy roll, and spider roll. The viking roll had shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, spicy crabmeat, avocado, shrimp topped with spicy mayo and eel sauce. The crunchy roll came with shrimp tempura, crabmeat, cucumber topped with tempura bits and eel sauce. And finally the spider roll had spicy tuna, avocado, crabmeat, jalapeno, and eel sauce. The fish in the rolls were not very fresh as seen in the lack of color in the fish. It wasn't terrible but quality of the fish is very important when it comes to eating sushi. Not the best that I have had. For the yakiudon, we chose not to get any meats and got the vegetable udon. The noodles came out drenched in grease and were lacking flavor. Basically this place is your typical Japanese take out sushi quality restaurant. If you want sushi quick and don't want to break the bank, this place is for you. However, I must say in comparison to other sushi joints, this one's prices are a little more by $2-3 for the specialty rolls. Not terrible in pricing but something to be aware of. Nothing super fancy or great but it's not terrible either. It would hold you over until your next meal. read more

The prices are really expensive though for dinner, that's the only thing that turns me off about this place. A Chirashi Bowl for lunch is $12.95 but for dinner it's $21.95?!
