We dined for dinner. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They accommodated my food allergy. The rolls were delicious. We got the Thai coconut which was surprisingly delicious! I got the chirashi bowl, albacore and yellowtail nigiri. All were good. Parking is free for 90 mins in the adjacent structure and $1 every 30 mins after that. Zono does not validate. After all these years I still enjoy coming here. I haven't found a better local option than this yet, my favorite sushi spot is kinda far so when the craving hits, I come here. Located in one of the alleys of Glendale you can either do structure parking or street parking. I haven't done dine in recently only pick up, but the workers seem fine and the ambiance is still the same - quiet and not too busy the times I've been in. My favorite still remains - the dynamite roll. They've definitely changed the recipe (no more herbs that give it that yummy pizza taste) but I still enjoy it. I will say though, it is pricey so I don't try to come too often. It seems that they have some dine in specials though! read more

The staff is very dog friendly! Their outdoor patio and indoors had a really chill vibe to it. We got the baked salmon roll, crispy rice roll, mixed tempuras, 2 salmon & 1 tuna sushi. They all tasted very fresh and nice. The baked salmon roll felt like it was a smaller portion compared to other places but still tasted great and had a cool kick to it. This was such a chill spot! The server was super nice and even offered us water for our dog. The food came out pretty quickly and tasted great! The tuna and salmon sushi that we ordered had nice cuts of fish. We also tried the crispy rice and liked that it came with crispy onions on top for an extra crunch! I ordered the bento box with spicy tuna roll and chicken katsu! Also, garlic edamame and a cilantro albacore roll. The service was good! Make sure you mention that you filled out the white sushi paper because we forgot to mention it. It was no problem though, the sushi came out quickly once we told them. The miso soup was good but it wasn't completely combined, as if the miso and the broth were separating a bit. The katsu was cooked well and the sauce helped to add flavor and a moist factor. The spicy tuna roll was good, like 6 pieces which was a nice serving, and a little spicier than I thought it would be. The shrimp & veg tempura had a lot of variety! It came with two piece of shrimp plus green beans, sweet potatoes and a few other veggies! This was really good! The salad was also nice. The cilantro albacore roll was good but the cilantro sauce was almost a little sour and it didn't end up finishing it. The outdoor patio was cute with little lanterns. We did stay a little after closing. This is one of Glendale's oldest and longtime sushi restaurants and the menu does seem a bit outdated. The quality is decent but with other locations coming up it isn't the highest grade around. Went to zono on a whim recently. I was a bit underwhelmed. The rolls were very small. We were still hungry and ordered a tuna roll and it was the smallest 6 pieces of sushi I'd ever seen. There weren't many people in there so it seemed like the service was very slow (but I think they may have lots of to go orders and that caused them to be slower). The food was good, just very small. Baby Octopus, Oyster shooters, Shrimp tempura, Salmon collar and Baked mussels - all passed and devoured with flying colors! They're great! The Sushi's were also quite delish and satisfying, I especially like the Tiger Roll and Salmon Tempura Roll, we ordered it together with Sake and Sapporo - oh my, I felt like a Sumo wrestler after our Zono binge! The place looks really nice and comfortable, it has a nice ambiance inside but we opted to be seated on their patio, our server Nicholas was quite attentive - such a cool guy! I couldn't think of anything bad to say about this place except that they ran out of the Baby Octopus Karage the couple times I went back here - I just think of it as it might be so good that they can't keep up. I was meeting a few friends last night for dinner and one of them recommended that we meet at Zono Sushi, since it's one of his favorite spots. It was my first time here, and it did not disappoint. I've somehow missed this place all these years. The location is tucked away inside the Exchange Plaza on Brand Blvd, which is also accessible from Maryland St. and it's next to the Gaucho Village Brazilian Grill. The place is nice, clean and welcoming. The servers are very attentive, and constantly checked to make sure we had everything we needed. We ordered plenty of sushi for the four of us, as well as beer and sake, and surprisingly the prices here are very affordable. Everything that I tried was really fresh and delicious. I'm not a big fan of tempura rolls, so I mainly tried fresh rolls and sushi, but the baked langostino roll was great, and we actually ordered two.
