I went to Aikan for diner tonight and the experience was very good. I have been wanting to check out this space for some time now. However, a few prior 1 star reviews have been keeping me away. I finally decided to try it and be my own judge. Service: Let's start with the service since that has been the main points of some previous negative comments. Let's keep in mind, this is an AYCE sushi place, not a fine dining restaurant. For a AYCE place, I thought the service was adequate. The host and the serving staff are not rude as some previous comments state! They are just busy, efficient, and generally friendly as this place requires. My server did not check in with me even once after taking my order, but every time I flagged him down for something, he would bring what I needed very quickly. They are definitely on the low end of the warm and fuzzy spectrum, but again for a AYCE place, this is adequate. Food: Now on to the food, I got the premium menu since I wanted to try some of the premium items. The food was of good quality. Fish freshness was 4 out of 5 stars fresh (5 being fresh off the ocean). The taste was generally good. The taste is not as impressive as your average Omakase or fine dining Japanese restaurant, but much better than any average sushi go around places or buffet restaurants with sushi on the menu. The bluefin toro was the highlight, it literally melted in my mouth as it should have. Many more expensive Japanese restaurants I visited couldn't even get this right. Ambiance: the place was clean and modern to my standard. Again, not at a five star hotel restaurant level, but very solid for a trendy and modern restaurant. All in all, this was a good experience. I would definitely recommend the premium menu since it offers many higher quality options.

Aikan is an outstanding all you can eat premium sushi experience. The service is very professional, the friendly servers are always attentive and helpful. The sushi is fresh and has awesome sashimi options, which are not too common for AYCE places. Two hour limit, I usually tap out around an hour and a half, you get plenty to eat here. The restaurant has tons of booths and offers sushi bar seating as well, ambiance is bright. Parking on the blvd (paid), or find one of the free parking garages. I love the salmon, yellow tail, salmon crunch roll and appetizer options here, you get your money's worth, give this place a try if you're craving some fresh sushi.

oh my god! It's first time to eat such Japanese food. almost every sushi has the same taste.

We came here for lunch for AYCE sushi. There is a good variety of things to eat~ especially on the appetizer menu. We came around noon and were instantly seated. Whenever we ordered, food came out pretty quickly so we always had food for our table. Service was great and everyone was very attentive and kind. Food wise~ I guess it's what you'd expect from AYCE? lol! The quality is what it is, not the best but not the worst. I'd honestly give the sushi quality a 3, the appetizers a 4, and service a 5. Parking is plentiful! You can do paid street parking out front or do one of the many free lots off the street.

AYCE was good! Lots of options to pick from -- rolls, nigiri, apps, ramen and more. We did the regular AYCE since we were heading back to The Valley after eating, and we left very full and satisfied. Side note for families: no big strollers inside. They'll ask you to leave it in the waiting area if your car seat/stroller is too large.

We've been to the location in Grenada Hills multiple times and it's great so we decided to try this one out since we were in the area. The sushi, rolls, sashimi and drinks were all amazing. They were all fresh and tasty. The place was nice and clean. The service was great, usually they stop coming by after a while but here they were on top of everything. We got the all you can eat and price wise it was great. Some of the sushi rolls are spicy so be careful. Overall it was awesome and well definitely stop by when in Burbank.

Went Sunday with the family, did the regular AYCE. Sashimi was actually good fresh, clean, no fishy taste. Fried octopus legs were crispy outside, tender inside, easy repeat order. Rolls were decent overall, pretty standard AYCE. Only miss was the eel rolls... they came out kinda burnt for some reason, gave it a bitter taste which was disappointing. Service was quick, food kept coming, no long waits even though it was busy. Overall: good value, family-friendly, I'd come back just skipping the eel rolls next time.

Really yummy all you can eat sushi. The premium package is worth the price. Sushi was great, rolls were great and so many appetizers to choose from. Kids under 2 eat free. Family friendly spot

Our server DYLAN was friendly, attentive, & very helpful. The food was top notch, delicious, and fresh.

Our date night was made extra special art Aikan Sushi in Burbank. Our server, DYLAN, was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. The food was delicious, fresh and prompt. From the uni to the sashimi, every dish was special and delicious. If you're looking for special night with great service and amazing food, we highly recommend this place.

It maybe my favorite AYCE sushi place in the valley. I've tried some other restaurants but this one still takes the cake. There's a few other location throughout the area that I've been too. Northridge is smaller but has a good parking lot. Pasadena is nice but parking is street parking. I'm not sure if there's a lot for that as we alway parked along the street. And we always utilize the sushi bar counter there. And then there's Burbank, street parking if available but there's a few parking structure all nearby. This location is bigger which is a plus. There's two option with AYCE. Premium and regular. I've done both but we just normally stick to regular. Same options except for a few other specialties items. You have a sheet with everything that you just mark off. Literally so much things to choose from. The starters, rolls, sashimi, nigiri's, ramen and so on. Of course, you don't want to get full with starters. Oh, the whole table has to do AYCE. It's a definite on the steamed mussels. The way it's prepared, it's delicious. I would get the sausages every now and then. Simple but tasty and served with ketchup. Shishitos peppers are tasty and an easy eat. Stuffed poppers were good but didn't want to fill up on starters. Mains or sushi is what we came for. All nigiri are per piece when ordering. The fish are all fresh and decent size. Some places it's a sliver of fish on top a massive slab of rice. Portion ratio was great. Literally every sushi piece was excellent. There's a reason why they give you rounds to orders as everything comes out pretty fast...lol.... Trying to consume each dish before the other arrives was a laugh... Plus everything was fresh and made to order. I alway get the salmon collar as yellowtail tends to alway be limited. Which this visit, they had one available. Both are great and a good potion of meat with the ponzu sauce. Besides the sushi, there's the kind that's has no rice. It's a must try. I never order rolls as I rather have nigiri. Everything was delicious and flavorful. For the price it's well worth it. Both premium or regular, you can't go wrong. Fish was fresh and everything was made to order. Service was great and all the staffs were friendly. Until the next sushi fix...

Delicious with an extensive menu. We did AYCE and because the quality of fish was excellent, it was definitely worth it!! Our favs: - Seared Salmon Roll - Seared Salmon! (and other seared nigiris) - Hamachi kama - Seaweed Salad - Salmon Tama

Love the vibes at this place. It's a chilly February evening so my daughter felt like Ramen. Sounds good to me. We both ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, I wanted mine "Spicy". Our server asked me to choose a number between 1-10 in spicyness....I chose a "3." I kinda regretted that it wasn't higher as soon as he walked off. The Ramen + appetizer was only $5 more, so we ordered our appetizers, a dish of edamame and the Baked Mussels. Dear Lord. Our Ramens came and my Spicy Ramen "3" felt like a 5/6! Imagine if I ordered a 5. I got use to it, but it was spicier than I expected. Though it was darn good!!! Therapeutic, actually. My daughter ordered the Strawberry Macaroon and I had the green tea ice cream. Both were delicious! The macaroon was Ah-Mazing! Great place to chill, eat delicious Ramen and dessert, and watch the big screens.

The standout was the Spicy Shrimp Wontons, which featured delicate, silky, the shrimp filling was perfectly seasoned, and the spicy chili sauce had just the right balance of heat, umami, and a subtle hint of sweetness, making each bite addictive. They were so good that I immediately ordered another serving to go. Honestly, I preferred these over Din Tai Fung's. The OG Ramen was deeply comforting and satisfying, with a rich, flavorful broth and perfectly cooked noodles that held up well from start to finish. We also tried the takoyaki, which had a lightly crisp exterior, a soft, creamy center, and plenty of savory flavor, finished with classic toppings like bonito flakes, mayonnaise, and takoyaki sauce, tying all flavors together. The service was warm and attentive, making the entire experience. Seated in a rather interesting part of North Hollywood, the summer heat did not deter us from eating here, as the smell immediately brought my worries elsewhere. A vast majority of the food here was fantastic, and the only reason I was going to opt for 4 stars was the takoyaki had quite a tiny portion in the actual dough ball- despite the actual breading so soft and fluffy, it was like the most delightfully extravagant packaging for something that was a bit of a let down. Though, much to the credit of our waiter she understood and offered to swap it out for another appetizer, which probably deserves the vast majority of the praise here. The vegetarian dumplings we ordered were legitmately some of the best dumplings I've had period. From the vegan mayo to the best gentle heat I've ever had the experience I've eating. Just hot enough for a brief moment with delightful heat throughout. The chicken skewers we had and the calamari were solid and with a perfectly paired Thai Iced Tea, I only hope to visit again and drown in dumplings. Cheers!

Our server was kind and attentive, frequently checking in throughout the meal to make sure we had everything we needed. We ended up ordering from the lunch menu, which included complimentary miso soup and a small side of vegetables as a thoughtful touch. **Lunch Sushi & Sashimi: 5/5** This lunch special offered generous portions, featuring a chef's choice assortment of sushi and sashimi alongside a maki roll. While the spicy tuna roll was enjoyable, the nigiri and sashimi were easily the highlights. The salmon and yellowtail nigiri had exceptionally smooth, buttery textures that practically melted on the tongue. Each slice of sashimi was delicate and remarkably fresh, with a clean flavor and no hint of fishiness. **Salmon Ikura Don: 4/5** This donburi featured salmon sashimi and ikura served over rice with avocado and a spring salad mix. The salmon was tender and silky, pairing beautifully with the ikura, which provided bright bursts of brininess and a satisfying pop with each bite. Underneath, the rice was perfectly cooked, while creamy slices of avocado complemented the richness of the fish. My only complaint was the spring salad mix, which felt somewhat out of place among the other ingredients and didn't contribute much to the bowl. With well-executed dishes and warm hospitality, Izakaya Osen delivered an incredible dining experience that left a lasting impression. The combination of exceptional quality and excellent value makes this a restaurant I'd happily return to.

If nothing else, I always make an effort to squeeze in at least one new restaurant in their lineup. For one, I get to sample what each restaurant considers to be their most popular menu items or exclusive dishes. Also, it's often a tasting menu that offers a little bit more. More like a foodie's bonus prize, just for participating. Yakumi looked good this time around. Probably because I'd eat sushi any day/every day, if I could. And I was able to find a quick prix fixe style sushi solution without roshambeau'ing with myself for hours, deciding on what to eat. YAKUMI BOX + THE DineLA MENU On the regular menu, the Yakima Box is $29 and no drink's included. During DineLA week, this filling lunch choice was just $25 and came with a shōchū cocktail as a refreshing bonus. It included: + Sunomono or seaweed salad + 1 piece of tuna sushi + 2 pieces each of yellowtail, salmon, and albacore topped with fried shallots (Note: It's not the fresh green scallions with ponzu sauce recipe) + A choice of 2 classic rolls like 2-piece baked crab roll, or 4-pieces of yellowtail jalapeño, spicy tuna, spicy salmon, avocado, and California roll (Note: The crab roll was buttery and tasty; the spicy tuna was standard) + My bonus drink: Mango Lychee Shochu The fish was fresh, the mango lychee cocktail was refreshing. Both were on the lighter side and pleasant for a lunchtime meal. INDOOR SEATING + OUTDOOR PATIO Sit inside or outside? To settle the debate, I did both while waiting for my lunch date to arrive. The warm, sunny patio was lovely, but there are only a few spots in the shade during certain times of the day, even with the awning drawn. Indoors, it's quaint and mirrors the koi fish artwork that graces the corner of the restaurant's exterior. It adds an authentic seafood-centric, Japanese charm to the ambiance. Service was prompt, although it wasn't a very busy time. Just across the street at Alfred Coffee, however, the second wave of a caffeine rush hour--needing their daily fix--rolled by as we paid. For me, on the other hand, the light shōchū buzz and pleasant stroll to my car was a foodie's bonus I'd come back for again.

This was easily a 5-star experience for both the food and the exceptional service. We came in without a reservation, put our names on the waitlist, and were seated in about 30 minutes. Definitely worth the wait. We started with the tuna handroll, except it's not really served as a traditional handroll. The fresh tuna comes in a bowl surrounded by crispy, crunchy rice, with nori sheets on the side so you build each bite yourself. Super fresh and such a fun way to start. Then came the chicken wings -- to die for. So flavorful and Korean AF in the best possible way. Probably one of my favorite dishes of the night. The salmon rice was good, but honestly nothing too special compared to everything else we tried. The wagyu pasta, though, was incredibly rich and packed with flavor. Then the wagyu empanadas surprised me all over again. Such a unique combination and flavors I really haven't had anywhere else. We ended with the banana ice cream and it was the perfect ending. But I have to give just as much credit to the service. Beyond exceptional. Everything was extremely organized and the entire staff worked like one team. Just because we had a waiter didn't mean only that person took care of us -- everyone was helping, checking on the table, clearing plates and bringing things out. It genuinely felt like we were welcomed and taken care of by the entire team. I had Sushi Ran in my to visit spots for years but finally came by and I'm happy I did! Located in a little plaza in Toluca Lake (free parking available, though potentially not plentiful especially during rush times), Ran offers an all day happy hour discount of 20% off items on the menu. Decor is minimal and there's exclusively indoor seating and the place isn't super huge but al this is about on par with the average sushi spot in the Valley. Service was slightly slow but I do think they were short staffed when we went. Crispy rice spicy tuna 4.5-5/5, nicely crispy, tuna is fresh and sauce is well paired, leaves you w slight spice in your mouth Orange blossom 5, nicely lightly spicy and the fish was super fresh, melts in your mouth WB roll 3.5/5, we wouldn't reorder this one. It's slightly more spicy than the orange blossom but the actual issue for me was that the scallops were too large on top of the sushi pieces?? It's possible that the issue might have been they were slightly less fresh as they didn't melt in my mouth like traditional scallops do

The caterpillar roll had fake crab on the inside that was super sweet and the fish did not taste fresh. Also, they did not include the sauce we requested or ginger or wasabi. Lesson learned. Don't order sushi for lunch on a Monday.

We came for a friend's birthday party, and DEVOURED. Started off with the Matcha IPA beer (green deliciousness, a bit strong on the hop + matcha so beware), and ordered a few appetizers to start--edamame, karaage, seared albacore with onions, yellowtail jalapeño, ceviche (omg so good), shishito peppers--everything was amazing! And we were off to a great start. We ordered a few rolls, and sushi, and hadn't realized that each portion came with 2 pieces so we definitely ate a lot. Everything was very fresh, and the quality was amazing. As if it couldn't be better, the service was superb! The owners came to check on us multiple times, ensuring everything was according to our liking and nothing was amiss. Can't believe it was my first time here! Will definitely be back for my sushi cravings!!

The restaurant was pretty empty due to the extreme hot weather. We ordered the lunch specials and they were really fresh and delicious. (like their restaurant name) The server lady was very friendly and answered the questions that my daughter had. I accidently left my key after the lunch and they kept it safely for me. This restaurant deserve more business and highly recommend. Obviously we will be back this restaurant again sometime soon.
