You know when it's time for noodles! I was raised in a multicultural community and I get bored with just eating the usual all the time. Especially being Mexican, guess what? Oh I get bored with the tacos. I was so please to see, them open for pick-up. I ordered the pork Black Motto. It was perfection! It was exactly as I had envisioned all the flavors came together. Oh and my pork chop melt in my mouth! My favorite Ramen ma and pa operation. It is located way in the back of the shopping center. My friend and I went here last night and I have to say... That was the best frickin Chicken Katsu Curry I've had in a LONG time. Easily top 5 in my book. How your staff were able to serve light, crispy, succulent, tender chicken, that WAS IN NO WAY soggy, is beyond my comprehension. Matter of fact - I don't even care! This one had sear marks on both sides which made the meat taste smoky & melt in your mouth goodness. Overall, a very satisfying meal. I ordered the motto black and their special motto red and karage chicken. The motto red is very flavorful with a bit of a kick to it and they give you two large pieces of pork with each bowl so you'll get full. The motto black has a smoky garlic flavor to it and I really enjoyed it. The karage chicken was pretty good as well, it was crispy and tender at the same time. Sign in and hang out, its worth it and the patio has quite a few nice tables and benches while you wait. We both enjoyed our ramen. My wife does that black oil one and she said this one was really good. I went with the Motto Special and also thought it was very tasty. I think I would do the spicy next time because I like it a little hotter. Great broth, noodle texture on par. Grabbed some gyoza and they also were very good, hot. My only complaint might be the water cups are so small I would finish it in a drink or two. That said those ladies had the place covered and my cup stayed full. Thats impressive but I felt bad too. Not very flavor strong here tho. Bamboo, shrooms, ginger, green onions are present too. Ok the egg is super generous, most places give you half a seasoned egg. The food was not so great. I ordered the black ramen. The broth was neither flavorful nor robust-- something I almost always expect when ordering black garlic ramen. The flavors did not blend well together and the toppings like the bamboo and egg all felt like they were just boiled and added on top on the soup. I went with their spicy pork ramen and my friend had their black ramen. The food came out pretty quickly - I'd say it took maybe 7-10 minutes. Their broth in both ramen dishes is well made - good balance of pork and spices without one overpowering the other. I do wish there were more pieces of pork in my dish - it came with two, but a few places either do three or make sure the pieces in the bowl are a large size to compensate. There was no shortage of noodles or bean sprouts in mine for sure. I actually had to take a to-go container for the rest of my broth and noodles. The team will pack it to-go for you, unless you ask to separate the broth from noodles like my friend did. (She was given two containers to put the broth in one and the noodles in another.) My husband got the special and I tasted it after he mixed it which was quite spicy so i don't know if the red itself is spicier? I really liked the broth and felt portion was fine. I immediately ordered the chicken karaage and tsukemen (dipping ramen) while my friends ordered the Black Motto ramen. Chicken karaage came perfectly cooked - crispy on the outside while juicy and flavorful on the inside. The tsukemen, on the other hand, was a little disappointing. The broth was wayyy too salty and I love salty, savory food. Also, the broth got cold pretty quickly after a couple of dips of the noodles. If I could turn back time, I would've ordered the Black Motto. Service was fabulous. Our waiter was friendly and quick. After ordering and receiving my Spicy Classic Ramen, I was checked on often to make sure everything was okay One of the workers there asked if I was enjoying the bowl and what I liked about it. I could tell that he really cared about the business and always kept a nice smile. Their Spicy Ramen definitely has a bigger, better kick than other places, and their pork was really tender. My friend's spicy ramen was also just as spicy. I'm not sure what it was, but I didn't enjoy the ramen too much. I think I didn't like the texture of the noodles nor the cut of the chashu (the other toppings weren't out of the ordinary either), but the broth was pretty good! I didn't finish the rest of my ramen and gave it to my friend. I would give this place a 3/5; -1 star for just average food and -1 star for the customer service. My friend didn't see a free waiter (no one was walking around) so he put his hand up. It was there for a few minutes before I started looking for someone, too. After the waitress acknowledged him from the other side of the room, he raised his empty cup to signal that he needed water. A few minutes later, the waitress came and refilled his water.
