Total paid with tax not including delivery and tip was around $30. That's a lot, but an instagram video made the place look good so I tried it. What i got is pictured below, it is untouched that's what I received. Although it looks like I may have taken a bite out of the rice, I didn't. So why does it look that way? it makes me question how they are handling food over there. well Done temp is already overcooked for a ribeye but this is overcooked Beyond any sense. as well as being extremely over cooked, the steak and rice tasted like they had been sitting out for 2 days and were stale and would not break down when I chewed. inedible. Portion wise, you can see there's 4 1inch thin strips of ribeye and a half cup of rice and half an egg. For $30. I ordered for lunch right when they opened, and The food seemed like it had been left out a while, so was it the previous days left overs? I've gotten bad food before, it happens, but this is beyond anything I've seen. I feel like they robbed me. Party of three was already inside and came with my family (party of 4) and was met with a silent welcome. Only one staff member was occupied with another party of three ahead of us. After waiting for them to finish another staff member appeared and began to help us and we began the bowl process. We asked if the proteins out were all they had and she said uhhh we just make more. So my dad and I ordered the ribeye and the worker who was helping the first group ahead of us began making the ribeye. Service was quiet (hard to hear staff member), unclear, and slow for a build your own bowl style place. The curry was so sweet and had a bit of spice like there was a tub of honey dumped in with the roux and then to overcompensate a bottle of sriracha too. My party said it was very rich. I barely ate extra curry. Also for the udon base they put a soup broth first and then ask if you want curry on top or on the side. For my bowl I opted no broth and just curry directly on top. Cool thing was there was no limit for toppings at least when we were bowl building. I did hear the first women tell another party that the woman helping us was "new" and only working there a couple of days. Worst part of our time there was they began cleaning (assuming since it was an hour before close) and must've burned some plastic or cleaning solution because the restaurant began to get smoky and this horrible burnt smell filled the space. This place is in Sprouts market area. The staff are very nice but they are still learning. The place is clean. You can pick and choose your base, meats and toppings. The meats were small and the curry was generic. I tried curry ramen and to be honest, I did not like it. The broth was sweet. They put more broth than curry sauce, which is different than other curry or Japanese places. With ramen, broth and curry yet, it was barely half of the bowl. So technically you get a regular ramen with little broth and a splash of curry. FYI: the portion was small. I finished till the last drop of the broth in 10 min and I was still hungry. Hopefully they will make improvement. I would rather pay $17 for something else more fulfilling. read more

Got there and it wasn't too busy seemed nice and quiet. Wanted to start my order with the ribeye but the person in front of me ordered it, and thankfully saved me the extra charge. The worker cooking the steak on the flat top was just putting so much pressure on the steak I was sure it would be over cooked so once it was my turn I ordered the tonkatsu pork. I asked the guy helping me how much to also add the chicken but he wasn't understanding and tried to put the pork back. I reiterated that I wanted the pork but also wanted a second protein but he clearly didn't understand so I just said forget it. Once I got home (a short 5 min drive) the pork was just dry. The curry saved it a little but for the price I won't be coming back it wasn't worth it at all. Save yourself the money and go elsewhere. Katsu was cooked with a nice crispiness. Ramen noodles cooked perfect, soup base is salty enough to balance the sweetness of the curry. It's not the traditional Japanese curry I am used to (from Japan or other Curry places, not bad. Different). They got the prime rib marinated and cooked just right, medium rare for me. Service was nice and personable. We plan on going back to check out the udon option, since it reminds me a of place in Tokyo. I was excited to hear a new Japanese curry place open in my city as I usually have to drive further out if I'm craving it. We came in on a Thursday, 15-20 minute after opening. The interior looked nice, however, the layout was strange. There were 2 columns of 2 seat tables which made the walkway narrow. It would be practical to combine the columns/tables, so the walkway is bigger since you start your order in the back of the store. There was a couple ordering ahead of us, and we had to maneuver through the tables to get behind them. We ordered an udon katsu bowl and rice katsu bowl ($34 total). There was a variety of toppings to choose from, however, they didn't look restocked as the worker was scraping at the bottom of the containers. He also used tiny tongs and gave very small amounts. I added tofu to my bowl, and I was expecting cube pieces, but it was all smushed up. The curry sauce had a sour taste to it, and the katsu meat was cold. We were left full but very unsatisfied and disappointed. I want to support the restaurant again since it's a local business, but I hope they will make adjustments with the feedback given. read more

I was honestly disappointed in more ways than one. I arrived at 4pm and there was nobody at the front counter. It took nearly 10 minutes before somebody came out from the back to help us. When adding toppings to my bowl, i asked for corn and she realized that it didn't have a designated spoon already in it like the others. So instead of grabbing a new one, she used the spoon that had been sitting in the brown bean dish which still had its syrup dripping off the spoon to scoop the corn into my bowl. So my review is purely based on service and my time there (~7 mins).* The ordering style is like that of a Panda Express. You pick your base, protein, and then toppings. Pretty standard. I do want to say that I am sorry that I had to cancel my order right before paying but it had to be done. What happened (Just want the problem? Skip to the problem section) Going to the place, I was excited for some tonkatsu with curry because this was an "authentic Japanese curry" place. I chose the tonkatsu pork (love me some tonkatsu with my curry) but unfortunately they only had 2 pieces left (like the two small end pieces). I told myself "that's okay some more will probably come out later." That's when the worker told me that I could instead do 2 pieces of tonkatsu and something else for me since they were out. Okay great, I get tonkatsu and I could try some other protein. Maybe I'm just dumb or didn't understand but I said "how bout this one (ribeye)." The worker went "that's like an extra charge" ( I think it was 7 dollars?). I said "never mind." Then I went to the next one "how bout this one" (wagyu beef). They said "that's also an extra charge." This is my exact reaction "." Problem: I looked over to the "free protein" and there was sausage and maybe like 2 piece of karaage chicken. I just wanted the experience to be over with, so I can at least eat my curry that I was eagerly waiting for. So I chose the karaage. I was then told that it was "bogo," so I got the sausage as well. OKAY IM DONE, BUT MY FRIEND STILL NEEDS TO ORDER. He goes to the worker "do you know when the next batch of tonkatsu would come out?" The workers replied with "we aren't sure as our manger has left the store." OKAY LIKE THE FUCK this is not okay. This was also the same for the karaage chicken. I was PEEVED my girlfriend was PEEVED. Like how are you running a store like this. I looked back to my friend with a bowl with just udon and vegetables. I'm sorry but that was not okay. He was willing to wait but hearing the workers going "I don't know when it would be made cause the manger isn't here. He out." was not it. I decided to cancel his order and mine as there was basically nothing to be served. *side note personal preference* Red flag. Please play some music or maybe more audible music. I honestly couldn't tell. I walked in to hear the workers talking at a normal volume but because the store echos and is so silent I basically heard their convos fully. Personal red flag. Workers discussing how to cook a food item in front of a customer. I get it sometimes you forget how to make an item and need help but this just shows that the store is unprepared. The item in question was ramen noodles. Worker 1 "how long do we cook the ramen for again?" Worker 2 "I think 3 mins. No it's 4 mins I think." Currently at a Coco Ichibanya getting my curry fix. I saw some poor Yelp reviews before making the 50-minute drive, so I knew what I was getting in to. And just like the bad reviews said, we walked in and were greeted by the saddest counter of protein choices. Three sausages that looked like Jimmy Dean breakfast links, a burnt up piece of pork katsu, and a piece of ribeye that looked like part of a cowboys saddle. We told them we wanted katsu as well. They put some in the fryer. While we were waiting, we saw them take the katsu out if the fryer and cut it. She looked at the katsu and had her coworker look as well. They looked unsure and put it back in the fryer. They DID NOT wash the cutting board or knife. If the katsu did not look cooked, everything it touched should have been washed thoroughly. After cooking longer, they took it out and placed it in the same cutting board and cut it with the same knife. We left at that point. Please beware if you're considering eating here. read more
