Another wonderful day at Moulin. The closest thing to Europe in Newport Beach. Grab a pastry and a coffee and sit in the sun and listen to the fountain. Have a nice talk with a friend. I just love the place. Time to slow down and relax. This is the place. I recommend it with five stars.

Everytime I am near by I always try and stop for some viennoiserie and pâtisserie. Love their almond croissants and other breakfast pastries. Their desserts are also decadent and worth trying. The Paris-Brest and Opera are yummy. Friendly staff and helpful. Located in a strip mall on Bristol, the space is on the bland side, though not sure there is much you can do to enhance it.

I had been craving a croque madame and I was blown away by this spot! Their prepared food looked amazing and the whole room was filled with wonderful aromas. We decided on eating breakfast there and taking some pastries to go! The outdoor seating was nice and we were able to get our food within 10 minutes of ordering which was amazing. Their staff were very friendly to use since it was our first time and even gave us some recommendations on what to try. I'm looking forward to going back again very soon!

Moulin provided it all ~ a spectacular French brunch, strong and smooth lattes, phenomenal service, and the cutest, most inviting atmosphere. I'm looking forward to returning (to this location or one of their others) to check out more of the menu, and take home some French cheese and pate!

Food was excellent as always and service is stellar for a non-full service restaurant. The only wonky thing is that the food items in the case are served cold. May not sound that odd but when it's Cod and Potatoes au Gratin, it's unexpected. We also went with the La Galette Complète this time. Unique to us and it did not disappoint. Coming back tomorrow just to pick up pastries for a party.

Every time I come to Orange County I have to stop here. Love the food and the pastries . Whether you live nearby or just passing through make it a point to stop by for breakfast or lunch!!!

The setup feels like an authentic French place - to-order restaurant items, a bakery, a deli section, and small market items. The meal food was good, but I'd say on the lighter/blander side. Their pastries are the star of the show for me. Would definitely come back specifically for the saint honore, and fruit mousse cake which had passionfruit notes. Really enjoyed the extensive patio seating.

Delicious pastries and the coziest ambience! Their almond croissants and pain au chocolat are perfectly flaky and I love how the bakery section gives you the option of purchasing full size or mini size pastries. Their takeout sandwiches are also great (especially enjoyed the jambon fromage, chicken pesto, and bayonnais!) and the crepes look amazing as well. Will definitely revisit to try more of their coffee and entree items!

Usually go here for lunch 1-2 times a week and grab something from the hot bar selections. Their chicken is solid if you're looking for something healthy. Veggies are also good as well as some of the hot sides. Panini sandwiches are pretty good also. Vibes are amazing and get's pretty busy during peak lunch time. Staff are friendly and service is pretty quick. I'm not personally into pastries so much but have tried bits and pieces here and there, all great as well as their coffees. Plenty of French stuff including imported butter that they sell in the store as well. Recommended and will keep coming back!

I've tried multiple pastries from here and decided to pick up a birthday cake here for my husband! SO GLAD I DID On their website, they have a lovely little guide that gives you all the details along with illustrations of the cakes as there are a ton of layers. There were so many great options, but I opted for the Chocolate Hazelnut Cake (chocolate sponge, hazelnut praline crunchy, chocolate cremeux, candied hazelnuts, milk chocolate mousse, milk chocolate glaze). THIS CAKE WAS PERFECTION I called two days ahead to order and ended up speaking with the manager (I believe her name is Katia) and she was so friendly and kind! I picked a cake, added a chocolate plaque, and paid by phone. Nice and easy! The day of, the cake was ready to go. I was in and out of there in a minute and the workers were so kind. It was also Halloween and they even complimented my costume haha The cake was GORGEOUS! OMG When I pulled it out of the box, everyone said wooooow THE CAKE WAS AMAZING!! The layers! I ate it layer by layer just to try and understand how all the flavors came together. It was truly a beautifully created cake. Not only did they think of how the flavors complimented one another, but they also considered textures. Loved the crunchy elements along with the silky mousse. One of the best cakes I've ever had!

One of the best French places in the OC I love their pastries, especially their hot food bar section with the layered potato dish to die for every time and their breakfast omelettes are fantastic. Love their patio area as well and love to just sit here and people watch parking is fine and easy and it's just a really cute store with a lot of goodies in there. In addition to food highly recommended. The ambience is really great and I've always had great service every time being in here.

Remember my first MOULIN review when I said I'd be back? Yeah... I've been back at least ten times, (yes 10X in less than 3 weeks) and dragged half my girlfriends with me because I'm fully obsessed. The food? Unreal. Delicioso! The service? Richard deserves a medal for being consistently kind, efficient, and on it. When a restaurant's staff call you by your first name, and can accurately guess your favorite foods, I'd say KUDOS to the Owner for training them well. The ambience? I love the energy here. It's addicting. And don't start with me gawking at their desserts and pastries. I told myself I'd lose all the holiday weight I've gained but for some reason 'logic' flies out the window the moment I step in there. DUH. And listen... I almost don't want to admit how OBSESSED I am with their Smoked Salmon Sandwich, because every time I show up it's either close to being gone or there's one sad little survivor left. My heart dropped so hard the other day (when I saw the one last Salmon sandwich) you'd think I'd just locked eyes with a starving French bulldog.

One of the best French cafés around -- if not the best! Whenever we run out of new restaurant ideas, this is the place we always come back to. Especially on a Sunday brunch, it's close to home, casual, and relaxing to sit in their outdoor dining area. You simply walk up to the front counter, pick your favorite pastry, place your food order, and then find a cozy spot to enjoy the sunshine. The server will bring your meal right over. We usually go for the soup and salad, sometimes a sandwich, and always end with something sweet from their tempting pastry selection. The French onion soup and chicken pesto salad are our top favorites -- comforting, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Their croissants are also excellent -- buttery, flaky, and fresh every time. A perfect neighborhood café for a laid-back weekend brunch or a casual weekday bite. Highly recommended!

It's waterfront and can be accessed via the boardwalk (it's behind the street-side shops). Parking can be tough and very expensive - you'll likely have to park in the structure and walk over. Make sure to take your ticket with you for validation. Seating is available inside and outside on their covered patio. Plenty of space for parties of all sizes. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to make a same-day reservation for a Sunday afternoon. They had plenty of open seating even when we got there. Tables were very dirty. They have a lot of work to do - it seems like months if not years of food, dust, and salty moist air mixed together and collected in the creases in the tables, on the walls, etc.. It's like a sticky gross residue that never gets completely clean. Many people like to dress nice in the area but honestly I would hate to wear something nice here out of fear it would get dirty. We also required new plates as ours had old food stuck to them. Service was not great. Our waiter was somewhat attentive but not nice - the poor guy seemed miserable like he hated his job and did not want to be there. Despite the restaurant being full, he wouldn't come by often when we actually needed something - he even disappeared towards the end and a new waiter had to help us. Food is delicious. Besides the location, their saving grace. We tried the sandwiches and yummy! Fries were also delicious with the spicy mayo. Love the different options they have, overall. They also had some great looking food on the brunch and drinks section of the menu. You can scan the QR code at the table to see pictures of each menu item. Overall was good and we'll be back every once in a while because we love Lido. Will try sitting inside in hopes the tables are decent. Really hope management makes some improvements though!

Maybe we didn't dress decent enough for them to serve us since we were in our regular jean and tshirt. So I have to actually speak up and call them to order. So when we get to order, it was 10:20pm already. After the foods are brought out, we had a decent dinner together and they are about to close. So one of the server brought out the check for us to pay and we decided to pay with exact amount with cash and leave tip in cash also. One of the server genuinely SMIRKED at us while counting the money. Like he looked at us and SMIRKED. He probably has a bad day or a busy day but still, it's a Tuesday. So instead of a nice dinner and a good nap, we had a really bad close of the day because of service at Zinque. So if you want food at night, you can come to Zinque but don't expect too much for the services recently, since it was SO MUCH BETTER back then until today.

Cozy dining in a relaxed yet efficient style generally unavailable anywhere else. Sharing a delicious seared scallop and risotto appetizer with a glass of white Burgundy transitioned to beef Bourgogne for me and steak au poivre for my bride of 47 years accompanied by a Bordeaux, both available in half bottles. Nice. A celebratory crème brulie was a fitting conclusion. Attention to details like artisan bread with soft and luxurious butter, hot food served piping hot, quality stemware in a warm and unpretentious dining room. And if all that were not enough, the menu and wine pricing are extremely reasonable. Shhhh.... Unless NPB glam is essential, for those that appreciate dining of quality over being seen, Basilic is not to be missed.

Our server was very warm and helpful. For two of us we ordered one heavier dish and 3 on the lighter side and I actually left pretty stuffed. The menu is always evolving so I'd love to return, but for this visit we started with the bread and ham butter. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the ham butter imparted so much flavor. My favorite item that we ordered was the Galician Octopus. The thin slices were perfectly executed and the flavors underneath packed a punch. I would pass on the Gambas al Ajillo. While the shrimp were large, I found myself wishing that they had some char. The Summer Squash Salad was a perfect complement to the other dishes. I found the squash ribbons to be unique, the dressing to be light and fresh, and the inclusion of small bits of cheese to impart just the right amount of saltiness to the dish. Because we were celebrating my birthday, they gave us a complimentary slice of the basque cheesecake with a candle in it. Typically I'm not a big fan of this type of cheesecake, but theirs was wonderful and we ate the whole thing. I'm always appreciative when a restaurant does a little something extra for a special occasion. Extra props to our server because she noticed the gift that my friend brought for me and took it upon herself to inquire about the occasion and bring the dessert. It's those little touches that mean a lot.

Ambiance: Fat of…read morethe Land is exactly the kind of place you want for a date night--small, cozy, intimate, with dark wallpaper, velvet accents, and a warm atmosphere that makes you want to linger. Service: The service was excellent from start to finish, and you can tell a lot of thought went into the overall experience. Food: Must Order: The piquillo peppers. Without question, this was the standout of the night. They were stuffed with juicy Iberian pork, had just the right amount of heat from the peppers, and sat on a crisp fennel slaw with a tangy dressing that tied everything together beautifully. It was such a balanced dish that I was wiping every last bit of the dressing up with bread. The rest of the savory dishes all felt like they were about 75% of the way there. * Octopus: Cooked perfectly--not chewy at all--but it wasn't seasoned, so all of the flavor came from swiping it through the citrusy mojo vinaigrette underneath. I wanted the octopus itself to have more flavor. * Bread with ham butter: The bread was good, but the butter leaned more toward green onion than ham, and I wished it had a richer, more pronounced buttery, savory flavor. * Gambas al ajillo: The shrimp were well cooked and nice and large, but I was hoping for that classic punch of garlic. Instead, the oil tasted mostly like oil with a little heat, and the shrimp flavor dominated. I wanted the garlic to completely infuse the oil--or honestly, just cover the shrimp in minced garlic. It needed a bigger garlic payoff. Dessert: The Basque cheesecake was phenomenal. If bread pudding and cheesecake had a baby, this would be it. We ordered a double espresso and started dipping each bite of cheesecake into it, which was the perfect ending to the meal. Pro tip: do this. It was so good. Overall: While the atmosphere, service, and a couple of dishes were fantastic, I'd probably only come back for the piquillo peppers and the Basque cheesecake. The savory dishes all felt incredibly close to being amazing--they just needed a little more seasoning and refinement to go from promising to truly memorable.

Favorite fine dining / Michelin-star restaurant in OC! Can't say enough great things about it!…read more A super intimate, upscale-casual (smart casual vibes with no enforced dress code) restaurant located in the third-floor penthouse of SCP. The space feels intimate because it's on the smaller side, and they thoughtfully stagger reservations so the dining room never feels overcrowded. You can be seated in the main dining room, on the outdoor patio, or on the indoor patio next to the penthouse shops. I come here at least once a year for my birthday because the staff are genuinely warm and make every guest feel special. They clearly care deeply about hospitality and creating a true culinary experience. Honestly, the entire team is top-notch, but on our most recent visit, Kara took especially great care of us. She remembered our preferences, made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed without needing to ask, and made my birthday feel special while also giving my husband and me space (I dislike when wait staff at smaller restaurants hover - they don't do that at all). The way the staff serves, takes orders, clears, etc. is like a really well-rehearsed dance - they want everything to be paced, smooth, and efficient (without feeling forced or robotic) and it really makes a difference. The food is delicious and beautifully presented, with thoughtful attention put into every detail of the flavor profile and color palette. They NEVER miss. I love how they refresh the menu a few times during the year to showcase seasonal ingredients while still staying true to the restaurant's overall identity. They also have a selection of dining experiences - I always go for the 3 course prefix during lunch and the portion sizes and timing of each course is perfect. Also highly recommend their afternoon tea on Saturdays. Couldn't find a more luxurious afternoon tea experience in OC! I genuinely hope they continue to do well! It's a pleasure to be a guest and feel pampered for a special day or an elevated casual meal with friends/family. Will be back many times in the future!

Definitely will be back for the dessert at least... and maybe the tasting menu. Apple (vanilla panna cotta, tatin, earl grey crumble, granny smith: compressed & gelee, green apple sorbet): You gotta come here for dessert. This was phenomenal. The earl grey crumble was delicious and plays well with the sweet tartness of the granny smiths. I'd say the component that felt out of place was the compressed pieces; they tasted like an fresh apple version of tandra which was too sweet and the layers meshed together. Main diver scallops (cauliflower, romanesco, capers, lemon confit, crostini): The scallops were so juicy and perfectly seared on the top. The cauliflowers were good but lackluster. The server told me there's cauliflower puree on the bottom which was yummy. Lemon confit who? There was an essence of lemon but nothing very present. Crostini was essentially like mini plain croutons. Wild Alaskan halibut (braised & fermented fennel, castelvetrano olives, preserved lemon): Only tried a bite of the fish and fennel. The fish was very nicely cooked and the crust on top was delightful. The fennel was sour due to fermentation but I didn't particularly enjoy it.
