Banana bread latte, sourdough croissant, and soup
    Katie T.

There are alot of mixed reviews about this place... you either hate it or love it. First off the inside and outdoor patio is gorgeous. So open yet still warm and welcoming. It's a very aesthetic place to have breakfast/brunch. You order first at the counter and then find your own seat. They have an extensive menu that ranges from coffee and teas to pastries and brunch items. Everything looks very appealing and picturesque and I hoped the food was as tasty as they looked. Especially considering how steep the prices are... The banana bread latte was tasty but with a subtle banana flavor and strong notes of cinnamon more than anything. I also did get this less sweet so that could have affected the strength of the flavor. The sourdough croissant had that signature tangy flavor but be warned the texture is not like a traditional croissant at all. It is dense and bread-like rather than flakey. I found it interesting to say the least. Also do note that they refuse to heat up pastries here. I understand charging a premium when there are these beneficial claims (seed oil free, refined sugar free, in house milled flour, etc) attached to it but I personally don't think the prices justify the claims nor taste. I also heard rumors that they recently changed ownership so the claims and quality of everything might change for the worse which is a shame.

Incredible quality of the food. I felt like I was at a Persian cafe as the croissants were absolutely the best I've had on this continent. Avocado breakfast toast, fantastic! Very impressive!

I've been seeing this place all over social media and finally got to try. Such a cute bakery with a cozy indoor vibe and aesthetic outdoor garden area. Makes the perfect spot for photos but other than the ambiance, the food and drinks were just ok. It felt like something we could make at home and my friend's omelet ran a little runny/undercooked. Unfortunately, we had dog poop left underneath our table against the wall and we didn't notice until after we were cleaning up. I understand it's a pet-friendly cafe but that was a bit of turn-off...There's also some flies or bugs flying around if you sit outside given the nature. Overall, friendly service, abundant seating, limited parking, and ok food at ok prices.

Truly don't understand the hype this place gets. I came here after hearing many great things about their pastries, especially their cinnamon rolls, so I figured I'd give them a try. Could not be more disappointed. -Cinnamon Roll: Man oh man was this dry. Probably one of the worst cinnamon rolls I've ever had. I came in a little bit before noon on a Friday and they only had a handful of them left on display. Went straight home to warm it up and it was as if these had been left out on the counter for 3 days. The dough was not chewy or plush like you'd expect. The frosting stayed pretty stiff compared to classic cinnamon rolls. The flavor profile was OVERWHELMINGLY sour. Like I get having cream cheese frosting which typically adds some tang to any cinnamon roll but both the dough and the icing were far tooooo tart. Maybe I'm just not the target audience for this type of cinnamon roll but this was an immediate no for me. Tried to pass it off to my family and everyone said no thanks after trying one bite. Don't get this unless you like sour and dry cinnamon rolls. -Chocolate Croissant: I think croissants are an excellent way to judge the skill of a pastry shop. Unfortunately, this one was also very telling. I don't see this often when it comes to bakeries that are suppose to specialize in making bread and pastries, but man the croissant was flat and hollow?! After my disappointing cinnamon roll, I only wanted to try half of the croissant in case it was also not good so I cut it in half and warmed it up. You would have thought I bought a hot pocket lol. This croissant had large gaping holes and extremely poor lamination. No discernable flakey layers which is exactly what you want from a croissant. Since they also use the sourdough base for this pastry, it also lends a very pronounced sour taste to the croissant, but that's hardly an issue, all things considered. The shop and parking: The saving graces for this bakery is the interior and patio areas were cute. Staff were also nice. Parking is not good. There are about 8 spots out front, 4 on the left and 4 on the right. They don't connect to each other because the sidewalk starts immediately in front so if you see a spot open on the other side, you have to exit the lot and re-enter because there's no thru road. The back side has some additional parking but many of the spots are reserved for the other businesses and all of them were taken as well. Overall: I spent $17 for 2 poorly made pastries. I will not be coming back.

As others have mentioned, the prices here are high. I am skeptical of places like this where the prices are high and not worth it. While I don't think that their food and drinks fully justify the high cost, it was pretty good overall. I love the ambiance and decor of this place. It's a neutral, modern design that I absolutely love. I enjoyed just sitting and spending time slowly eating my food and drinking my latte while taking in how nice this place looked! The Roasted Chicken Pesto ($24), while pricey, was a decently sized sandwich that filled my hubby and me up. The Bread Basket ($5) was much more affordable considering how pricey everything else was. I'm a huge fan of sourdough, so I had to try the bread basket that offered me a taste of their sourdough and baguette. They definitely have a tang to their sourdough, but not as tangy as I had hoped (I like them real sour). Service was great from all the staff members - friendly! Overall, I wouldn't frequent this place often because of the prices, but I would definitely come back again!

I've had Eller saved for months now and finally was in the area to try it! Interior is super bright and open. Parking lot is a tad small, but seemed to be enough. There was ample seating inside and outside. Staff was very nice at helping us choose our food. We ended up ordering a wide variety of things. My personal favorite was the tomato and basil pizza and the carrot cake.

Love this spot- amazing food, pastries, and coffee!! First time dining in today and it is super cute inside with great service. PLEASE get a changing table in your restroom so I can update to 5 stars! My mama friends and I will come regularly if there was one

Eller has been on my bookmarks forever! Finally stopped by & it definitely didn't disappoint. I only ordered the cinnamon roll and it was delicious. Next time I will have to sit down for lunch or coffee. There are so many different options on the menu. Parking can be tricky due to having a small parking lot. So I would recommend you go early I the day.

Pretty great place, but too expensive and that's why it's not 5 stars. Friendly service, spacious inside and outside, and quality food. They bake with good ingredients and many things are sourdough. The make an excellent coffee, as well as do a great job with the breakfast plates. Excellent omelette, excellent potatoes. No complaints! Only the price... most things were $20. I liked the cinnamon roll, but recommend the sourdough chocolate chip cookie even more!

This cafe/bakery has such a stunning indoor and outdoor space! If you're dining in, you still order at the counter and they will give you a table number once you order. They have a variety of savory and sweet brunch options and tons of fresh baked goods. Their drinks rotate seasonally with lots of fun coffee flavors. There is a small parking lot both in the front and the back but it can get quite crowded on weekends

Very cute breakfast spot in Costa Mesa with a nice ambiance inside. Croissants are delicious and are sourdough! The food was good but not going to lie it's a tad bit on the pricier side for what it is but that's anywhere today I suppose. Service was a solid 7.5/10 so not bad. I'm not super crazy about a 5.75$ drip coffee either but at an establishment as such I understand that people need to get paid. Overall very cute small breakfast / pastry / bread joint. I'd recommend to try at least once !

First time today for lunch. Talk about a wonderful experience! The building has a very peaceful atmosphere. The menu is full of delightful thoughtful dishes. Avocado toast was amazing and you must have it with a poached egg. Everyone we encountered was above and beyond friendly. I asked if I could buy flour from them. A no go for now but, you never know down the road I hope?? I will be back! Thank you so much for a fabulous lunch!

When you enter, the location is huge! Tons of tables and seating. Nice! People are working, hanging out, and enjoying their food and drinks. I ordered a churro latte half sweet and a deluxe avocado toast. The latte was delicious. Sweetness level was just right for me. I don't like super sweet drinks. The avocado toast was also great. There was so much flavor from the egg and bacon and seasonings. It was a little hard to eat out of the to go container, but I made it work. It could easily be shared depending how hungry you are. I love that I didn't feel rushed here. It seems they expect people to come and hang out for awhile. Can't wait to return! I'm eyeing the biscuit and a matcha next time.

Inside is a café inspired by natural accents with an industrial flair giving a rustic character with modern style. The vibe inside is chill with plenty of seating for groups or singles. They also have an outdoor area with covered seating surrounded by plants. The menu delivers just as much appeal as the setting. They have an expansive list of coffee, tea, and lattes with several modifiers to choose from. To accompany your drink the menu provides options of sandwiches, bagels, and a variety of pastries. I had the smoked salmon bagel, featuring delicate slices of salmon layered over cream cheese spread, topped with capers and fresh chives. This is my go to for coffee houses that offer it. The bagel exceeded my expectations and I believe the chive's subtle flavor complemented the smoked salmon really well. For drinks we tried the chai and hot chocolate. The iced chai latte was smooth and not too sweet with a dusting of cinnamon on top, but I would rate it average in taste. The hot chocolate was deliciously velvety and detailed beautifully. I would rate it a five out of five! The difference at this coffee shop is that you can choose from a range of seating arrangements and have an opportunity to support the business by picking up clothing, a bag of coffee or other merchandise. The con for this coffee shop is that the beverages are somewhat undersized relative to the price point. In addition, the customer service experience fell short. We were greeted upon entering, but it was unclear where customers should retrieve their order or whether orders numbers were called out. With that said, those looking for a quiet morning coffee or a cozy place to catch up with friends, this spot can accommodate.

Unfortunately, this visit was one disappointment after another. We arrived at 8:30 a.m. hoping for a peaceful coffee-and-breakfast morning. Instead, we accidentally wandered into what felt like a Janis Joplin tribute concert. The music was blasting at nightclub volume--not exactly the relaxing start to the day we had in mind. But surprisingly... that wasn't even the worst part. The food was incredibly disappointing. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and the potatoes were still raw--hard enough to remind me they were once part of the ground.. My husband ordered the French toast, which looked suspiciously like it took a quick detour from Trader Joe's frozen aisle before landing on our table. There's nothing wrong with frozen French toast... unless you're charging $14 and calling it brunch. Another friend ordered the granola with berries. After a few bites, he gave it a skeptical look, pushed the bowl away, and decided breakfast simply wasn't worth the gamble.
