It's dangerous to have this bakery near the bank, grocery & hardware stores. I'm tempted way too often! The pastries are laminated perfectly so they are flaky while never dry. The selection of food and drinks is large. It's a great place to meet friends or get food-to-go. The coffee drinks are "okay" and can take some time, so if you get drinks to-go, be prepared to wait a little bit during the crowded times. There's seating outside, as well as inside.

OK, I'm updating the review of this cute really high-quality bakery. It seems like they've got their management staff putting together and they are trying hard. Looks like they have increased their staffing management appointment so we're very happy and we frequent this place a lot. Keep up the good job

This place had beautiful croissants of all flavors! The bakery is located in a shopping center that has plenty of parking. I highly recommend the almond croissant.

Great bakery, great sandwiches, when you are inside it smells like any bakery in Paris. Loved it. Their eclairs are perfectly made. Lots of bread variety, cinnamon rolls very good. Looking forward to return.

The pain au chocolate is superbly laminated dough. The French baguette had zero flavor and we ended up sharing it with the birds.

Came here on a Friday at noon and it was busy! Practically every table was filled with people and there was a line. You order at the back of the line and pay up front. I loved that they had free samples!!! I got to try their apple pie dessert, passionfruit eclair and pistachio croissant. My tummy is rumbling just thinking about it. They were all SOOO GOOD. Not too sweet, not artificial and just delightful. I got the chocolate elfroy and strawberry envelope. These also hit it out of the park. The pastry was flaky and fluffy. The custard was abundant. The strawberries were fresh. Every single bite was swoon worthy and their presentation was superb. They also have savory sandwiches and open-faced sandwiches in their cooler case. I'm quite intrigued to try those as well! This place is such a treat - every single pastry is perfection, you really can't go wrong. I cant wait to share this place with more of my friends and family.

Yum! I stopped by this location because I love the other location so much, and it did not disappoint. The space here is more open, the samples were a nice touch, and the staff was incredibly friendly. There's a great variety of sandwiches to choose from, and I was especially excited to see fruit tarts-my favorite! I'll definitely be back.

Natalie and Taylor are the kindest people I've ran into in OC/Newport. Natalie being very informative with what's offered at Chaupain and then Taylor being super respectful and sweet. They're a great pair to have working for this establishment. I also love how light I feel with the meals I eat here. There's plenty of flavor offered here, the pastries are why you'd expect from a bakery of this tier. I'd give all the hours to those girls asap(if they wanted it) cause they're the main reason I'd keep coming back. Customer service is key to success for restaurants.

what a wonderful bakery they use all french flour, and their pastries are perfectly flaky. i ended up getting the jalapeño and cheese pastry, guava cruffin, and salmon cucumber tomato toast. all of them were delicious. my friends loved them too. the displays were beautiful, and i love how this is a great place to just hang around; the atmosphere is intentional. you can also pick up your weekly fresh bread here. tons of selections, from focaccia and sourdough to baguettes. they have seasonal drinks, quiches, desserts, and more! i also want to mention the girl with the cool blonde hair working the a.m. shift. she is seriously so sweet. i took a long time looking at all the selections, and she was patient and welcoming. she even offered customers samples of her favorite pastry. i couldn't sleep the previous night and decided to try this bakery as a pick-me-up. i drove far to get to this area and really appreciated the kindness from her and the rest of the staff. all smiles at 7 a.m. (: it made my day.

What a cute place to visit for lunch! I came here with a group of friends and tried the Kaskrout Merguez Sandwich and the Chicken Pesto Sandwich, along with some pastries and other yummy offerings. The kaskrout was my favorite of the two sandwiches - the sausages were so flavorful, and the dipping sauce was sublime. I might have scraped the bowl clean! The salad that came with it was bright and fresh, with just a slight drizzle of dressing - just the way I like it! We came here to celebrate a birthday, and the staff heard us singing and brought out a slice of the German chocolate cake for the birthday boy - how nice! I went back and bought a chocolate chip cookie, a pack of cinnamon cookies, a pistachio croissant, and a blueberry tart. Everything was so delicious. Prices are pretty reasonable as well. There are plenty of places to sit inside and out. OH! They also have a pretty extensive drink menu, as well as some RTE goods as well. And they sell coffee beans!

WOW!...a beautiful stop and go bakery. WOW! would also be the word I would use to describe all the food I tried. The sandwiches were amazing - tried the chicken pesto and the kaskrout sandwich. Both were great but I preferred the kaskrout more bc the marinara sauce it came with was so good. Also had way too many pastries in one day. Carb overload but so good. The vanilla cheesecake, tiramisu we're all great. We came here for a birthday and the staff actually gave our friend a piece of cake for his birthday. So nice since it's an order and sit down kind of place. I also tried the chocolate chip scone which was flat but soooo good. There Ferreo rocher cream puff was *chefs kiss*! And the blueberry tart...so flavorful. I couldn't resist. Now excuse me while I go burn off the carbs and calories. I want to come back for more ASAP!

Our server who I forgot his name was super nice and attentive. My husband got chicken and I got duck and both dishes were delicious. We also got a Brie cheese dish as appetizer and it was amazing as well. The vibe and the decorations felt really welcoming and authentic. The lady who helped me - dark hair, really overly colorful eye makeup, and tattoos - processed the transaction but handed me the card without a receipt. When I asked for one, she spent a moment at the screen and then told me she couldn't print it because she had already closed out my tab. I was confused why 1) she didn't give me a receipt in the first place, then 2) she decided that was the only solution - to tell me it could not be done. After I asked her to find a solution as I needed a copy of the receipt, she finally asked her colleague beside her, who pointed her to the right place, and, voila, the receipt was printed. Leading with "I can't" is never the right customer service instinct, especially for something as basic as a receipt. I also tried to buy the butter they import from France. I stood at the case for several minutes with no acknowledgment. I finally walked over to the nearest employee (her name was Lucy) who was finishing up with a customer at the register right next to the butter section. I politely asked if she could help me when she was free. She looked at me, nodded, and said she would. Then proceeded to assist every customer who lined up behind that original customer without once glancing back in my direction. In fact, I had enough time to walk to the bakery, go through the entire gift card situation as mentioned above, and return to the butter section, and Lucy still hadn't looked over. I left without the butter. Moulin used to have fantastic service. I don't know where those regulars went, but two strikes in one visit, with two different employees, is hard to brush off.

The Order: * My Go-To: I highly recommend the chocolate chip cookie with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on top. * Variety: They have every flavor of milk, ice cream, and cookies you could want. Timing & Atmosphere: * Avoid Weekends: I would not recommend coming here on a weekend. The store is tiny, and because it's right next to all the bars, the area gets crowded with a lot of drunk people. If that isn't your scene, stick to a weekday visit. * Rewards: It is quite expensive, but it's a nice treat. Plus, you can sign up with your phone number to get discounts for future visits. The Parking Situation: * Virtually Non-Existent: There is no parking lot, so you are stuck looking for small spots along the side of the road. * Accessibility: There is no designated handicap parking, so keep that in mind if you aren't prepared to walk a bit from a side street. Final Verdict: It's a perfect weekday spot for a warm dessert, just be prepared for the peninsula parking struggle!

I've…read morenever had a bad experience here before, the food has always been great, and the staff has always made us feel welcomed and taken care of. This last visit was unfortunately very different. We came in with a fairly large party, and we completely understood that accommodating a group our size is a lot of work. When we got in line, the employee asked how many people were in our party, which made sense. However, we were then told that we could not all pay separately. This was confusing because payment is taken before you even sit down, so it's not like we were trying to split a bill afterward. Rather than make a fuss, we combined everyone's orders onto one card, totaling around $400. The food and drinks came out fairly quickly, which we appreciated. The reason I felt compelled to write this review, though, was because of how rude one particular employee was during the experience. She was wearing patriotic cat ears and appeared to be one of the baristas. One of my friends ordered a latte with alternative milk, but it seems the order may have been entered incorrectly. I've worked in the coffee industry myself, so I understand mistakes happen all the time, and remaking a drink is usually not a huge issue. Instead of handling it kindly, the employee responded with, "That's how it was put in, the request time has passed, that's our policy," in an incredibly dismissive and rude tone. We were honestly stunned. My friend, visibly uncomfortable, just quietly said "Okay," and the employee walked away. Nothing was offered to make the situation right. This happened after we had already spent hundreds of dollars and tipped before even being served. I'm not someone who enjoys complaining or writing negative reviews, but the interaction completely changed the experience for our entire group. What's most disappointing is that the refusal itself wasn't even the main issue, it was the attitude and apparent enjoyment in being dismissive over a very small and understandable mistake. I'm writing this mostly out of disappointment because I truly loved this place. I also think it's important for larger parties to know ahead of time that there appears to be a policy limiting payment methods, even though I've personally visited before with smaller groups where separate payments were allowed. I genuinely hope this was just an off day, because Eller Bakery has been a place I've loved supporting for a long time.
