This was a great little spot. The host was wonderful explaining all the options for the menu combination. I had a variation from the menu with dumplings, noodles and saag paneer (not on the regular choice). I had a hard time choosing between that and the Tikka Masala, so they even brought me a little of that too. The host also noted if anyone in our party wanted something else he would gladly exchange it. He suggested a shared order of Naan and even split it among our party as we were all on separate checks (also no problem). You can't go wrong here. read more

A delicious spot for Indian food lovers in Boise, we tried vegetable Momo's, veg noodles, saag paneer and roti. Food was very delicious and the owner was very friendly , he came and suggested us with vegetarian options and I did not regret ordering what he suggested. This is the best ~Indian in town. Period. Fantastic Butter Chicken, Samosa Chaat.. and of course the Momos. I spent a year in India and I can say that this restaurant isn't losing anything in transit. They didn't Americanize/dial down the flavor. The family is also the nicest you'll ever meet, happy to have you try a little of everything and genuinely excited about the food. I couldn't recommend it more highly! This place is delicious! If you're going to get appetizers, don't just get one. The samosas and dumplings are so different but equally as tasty - must try both! My boyfriend and I were super hungry so we also got naan bread and butter chicken to dip it in. A year ago I had a bad encounter at Mount Everest Momo Cafe when dining in. To be clear, nothing to do with their food, more the rudeness of the owner. I went back a 2nd time and encountered the same thing. Problem was, I REALLY like their food! Several months passed and I took to bypassing having to interact with the owner by ordering through Door Dash a couple of times to enjoy the food in my own home. Tonight I had a conversation with my husband about dinner and it was decided to order from them, but before taking to Door Dash I opted to call Momo Cafe directly to ask if in these times they are doing delivery themselves .... ie I was looking to support them by ordering directly if they were set up to do their own deliveries. The conversation went EXACTLY like this: Me : hello, I'm calling to enquire whether you are doing your own food deliveries? Owner : No Line went dead! This is the last straw for me with this business. There is zero excuse for rudeness in any scenario. In times where people are stressing to support local businesses, I think it's also vitally important to call out reasons to not support certain ones. Don't get me wrong, I'm annoyed as much at myself more than anything, for not having 100% boycotted this business before now! Stay kind everyone! read more

Mount Everest has everything my heart desires when craving North Indian food. Although this restaurant has Nepalese food, it is the closest you can get to momos. This guy makes the best navratan korma I've ever had. The biryani and the momos are also great. It's a different style of biryani than I've had in other places, not as spiced and a little more oily, but not in a bad way. I really appreciate the variety he has on the menu with Indian, Nepali, and Tibetan foods. The coconut naan is another favorite. Highly recommend trying this place. read more

Raj was a very attentive and knowledgeable server. Our favorite appetizers were the yack momo dumplings and the crisp samosas. Makhani butter chicken, a spicy and sweet tomato base flavor was delicious, especially paired with warm onion naan. The lamb Masala was very flavorful, as was the Saag paneer. We highly recommend this place, everything is cooked to order and you can taste the fresh ingredients. If you are worried about spiciness they offer levels 1 to 5 when you order. My husband and I stopped by a few days ago and ordered food to go. We ordered food to share: the chicken chao chao, cheesy naan bread, and yak Momo. My family and husband liked all of the food they had. I thought the cheesy naan bread was okay--it reminded me of a variation of tortilla with cheese. I personally wasn't a fan of the yak meat, but the rest of my family liked it so I must be the oddball. I think I would have preferred the taste of lamb or chicken in my Momo instead of yak. But the thing I loved about this restaurant was the chicken chao chao. My mind was blown and I want more. Too bad there isn't a location where I live. :( I would recommend this place. May I please have your attention? Yes, this was my first time here and yes it was good. I went today for lunch because I was in the area due to a flat tire. At first, I was nervous because no one was there. It's a mom and pop shop, brick and mortar, or whatever phrase you like better. My husband, had been before so he kept reassuring me. I got the lunch special($9.99), creating my own plate type of doing choosing from 3 options. I was familiar with 2 of my options because I had before, but one of them was something different. The owner was also our server and it was apparent that he was proud of his place, his menu, and his food. And there is reason to be proud. The food is awesome! We ordered some momo's (dumplings), chicken curry, and alu paratha naan bread. Everything was outstanding and I wouldn't hesitate to order again. Go For The Yak It might sound strange to kick off a review with a meat many people haven't tried (myself included), but you're missing out on a delicious, tender, well-seasoned meat that will have you coming back for more. I recommend trying the Mixed Momo dish (think dumplings), where you'll get two pieces each of pork, veggie, chicken and yak. My other favorites include the Navaratan Korma (a veggie korma) with a sweet, yet delicious yellow curry; Vegetable Chau Chau (pron. chow chow) which is a Tibetan-style noodle dish with vegetables and spices; and a side of garlic naan (garlic-seasoned flat bread that's tender, moist and savory). Finally, the service. Raj is a generous host who makes sure everything is taken care of. This is an excellent place for a variety of dishes from India, Tibet and Nepal. The lamb curry(get as hot as possible) was delicious, so was the naan and onion culcha. I never had Nepali food before coming to this place, and I loved it! It seems to be authentic food, and the portion size is good too. The price was also good for the amount of food you get. We ordered the chicken chau chau, the matter paneer, the chicken korma, and three types of bread (garlic naan, onion naan, and one with nuts that I can't remember the name of). Absolutely 100% recommend this place for taste. This is the type of restaurant only locals know about and there is an intimate feeling.
