My partner and I visited Eureka twice this last week for dinner, THATS how good this place is. I have been to several southern CA locations in the past 10 years and Eureka has always lived up to high standards regarding quality of food, cleanliness of establishment, and fantastic service, and the Boise location matched all of that. Both nights we sat at the bar, and were helped by Javier who is brand new and training. The female servers training him both nights were great, helpful and attentive, while still giving him space to do his thing and learn but give him independence when appropriate. Javier was great, he was up front about being new but clearly dedicated to the business, learning the menu, and above all else, customer's having an amazing experience. He is gem and a great hiring choice by management. The food was phenomenal. I ordered the Fresno Fig burger and the truffle cheese fries both nights, medium rare and both nights were delicious and made perfectly. I also ordered an old fashioned, Eureka Sour and the seasonal Farmers Market Sour between both nights and all drinks were well made and delicious. Between both nights my partner had the bacon jalapeño burger, the bone marrow burger, truffle cheese fries, and a couple different draft beers and an old fashioned. He loved everything he had, but would specifically recommend the truffle cheese fries and the bacon jalapeño burger. Thank you Eureka Boise for continuing the tradition of Eureka being my favorite burger place, it enhanced my trip SO much. Can't wait to come back. read more

I am not sure I have been this underwhelmed in a very long time. Was excited for a really good burger with flair. Eureka is the dorm burger and fries north for the college. Service was so stoned they forgot our water order six times. We got water after we finished the meal, which is surprising since it took forever to get our tv dinner burger. Came to Eureka! to have lunch with my dear friend to celebrate my birthday. The last time I was here which was a while ago, I had a nice salad and dessert. The dessert was missing a major component to it. It was good but you can tell it wasn't complete. My last visit didn't hit the 5 star mark but today I had a feeling that it was going to be great! We were early and got first dibs on a table on the patio. The day was beautiful so sitting outside was perfect. I appreciate the big umbrellas that created nice shade. We checked out the menu while a diet soda was grabbed for my friend. We both decided on the Eureka! burger for lunch. Both of us got it lettuce wrapped with fries of course. Since we were so early, food was brought out pretty quickly. Our burgers looked fabulous! My burger patty was cooked nicely and wasn't dry. The lettuce, tomato and onions were so fresh. I appreciate the beautiful char marks on my onion. And the cheese was nice and melty. I demolished that whole burger! Everything about that burger was great! And the fries... the fries. Being a potato lover from Idaho, these fries were cooked perfectly. Crispy on the outside, soft in the middle and nicely salted. For dessert, I got the peanut butter pie. And since it was my birthday, I got a free scoop of ice cream. My server was super sweet and added a birthday candle to my dessert. That was really kind of him to take time out of servering his other tables to do that for me. That small gesture sure did make my time there that much more amazing! The peanut butter pie is a must if you order dessert! It was rich but not overwhelming. You can taste the chocolate and peanut butter but neither one overpowered the other. And it wasn't overly sweet so it was easy to polish that gem off without having to guzzle a gallon of milk. It was rich but I was committed and ate the whole thing. I had such a lovely time today. The food was so good! My dessert was fantastic! Our server was attentive, kind and wonderful. The weather couldn't have been better for us to enjoy our lunch outside. This place was able to accommodate a group of seven guys and was pretty quiet during the early night of Saturday. Our server Rylee it was pretty easy to get along with the order of the menu items and was able to deliver drinks pretty quickly and checked in on us regularly. She was even also able to get all the separate checks as quick as possible when we had an additional eight more people show up. read more

Love the location, so we will start with that. Came on a Saturday around 1, we were able to reserve an outside table through open table, but they weren't too busy. I would say overall everything was okay. The place itself is nice, indoor and outdoor seating, dog friendly patio, but it was fairly warm (near 90) and they didn't have umbrellas at all the tables, so that was kinda a bummer. We ordered appetizers, but the food and apps came out at the same time. Service was okay, not great, but it wouldn't keep us from going back. The food itself was fine- we got some the "favorites" and thought overall it was okay. Price point is what you'd expect for a trendy foodie spot in downtown. Overall not bad, but not great. If we were in the area, we might go back, but not sure we would seek it out. They had plenty of staff working, so I think maybe if service had been a little better, we would have given a 4/5. read more

A tough decision to make when there are so many places to eat in the same block. I went with a group of folks and had reservations here. When I saw the menu, I was kinda excited to have a really good burger, but it was just OK. We started with a few shared appetizers: fried pickles, truffle fries, and pretzel bites. Out of the three, only the fries were really good; others were mid. My bacon jalapeno burger was alright; I was expecting something more flavorful with bacon jam and charred chiles on it. It was also a smaller burger and the meat didn't really stand out either. Sides were a la carte...what place doesn't include fries with their burger? This place... I did enjoy the 3 desserts we shared as a table: bourbon cake, carrot cake, and turtle pie. All were very tasty to round out a meal. read more

We came in from out of state so it was close to 10 PM when I called in to see if their patio was dog friendly. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The manager welcomed us (and our ) even though the place was bought out by the Tattoo Convention attendees - THANK YOU!! It was really nice sitting on the patio and chatting with tattoo artists. The food was delicious!! We had the seared salmon and al pastor fish tacos. The waiter suggested the Bourbon Barrel Cake. So we ordered that along with a carrot cake à la mode! My husband and I was in the area over the weekend and he wanted me to go here to try out the 28 day-old dry aged patty burger with bone marrow butter. I couldn't say no to that description. When we got to our table, our drinks were quickly taken. When we placed in our order, we were told that they were out of the 28 day old dry aged patty! Oh that was such a disappointment because we both ordered that. We had to place in an American burger option and added in the bone marrow butter on the side. Our mimosa flight was decent, my favorite on the list is the blood orange. The burgers were okay -- I think we were so hyped about the original burger that when the order couldn't be placed, we were a bit sad that we couldn't taste it. The American burger with the bone marrow butter was a bit elevated, but it tasted similar to other burgers I've had. It was good, nonetheless. We were seated at a very intimate and cozy booth. One of my go to spots to catch a sports game! Picture typical bar food but better. With great happy hour deals and plenty of seating with views of their TV's I love bringing friends to Eureka and sharing classics like their nachos. Their cocktail menu is elevated the drinks are delicious, of course they also have classic drinks as well as a full bar, but I highly recommend trying their house specials. The steak Caesar salad is a great go to it was cooked perfectly, the new fried pickles are so fun and delicious definitely a must order. Ordered food for delivery. Wanted chicken strips, Mac & cheese balls and fried pickles. I've ordered the strips and fries before and the deis often come undercooked, so I sub in the fried Mac. I revived my order and was super excited to dig in. Pickles and Mac & cheese balls great. Dips fine! The problem.....boneless tenders. They sent the equivalent of frozen toddler chicken nuggets?? What happened to the amazing hand breaded ones? Im posting photos of what I should have had, vs what I got . I won't be supporting this place again. It's a bummer because I took a gamble and lost. This was our first time at Eureka and we came back the next day. This is easily one of my Top 5 burgers of all time. The Black & Blue burger was astounding! Oakley was absolutely delightful showing us a wonderful experience! Her service was outstanding and we went back the very next day to request her to take care of us again. The problem was the food came out cold like it had been sitting a very long time ... which I'm sure it had because the wait to get anything including drinks took a very long time. This was not the waitress's fault she was clearly running but they just weren't staffed for the amount of business that they had . The manager did come apologize and comped our apps and gave us some cards for future use. I would recommend this place just not on a busy night like Friday or Saturday..unless they hire more staff. Stopped in to the BoDo location recently and had a fantastic experience. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and super attentive, and the food absolutely delivered. I came with a big party and the staff handled us like champs while staying kind AND getting our food to us quickly -- not easy to do all of the above and do it well, but they did! It's clear their leadership and management are dialed in and committed to creating a great ambiance. The Wagyu cheeseburger was amazing, and the mac & cheese bites were roll-your-eyes-back-into-your-head good. And then... there was the carrot cake. When I say I was not emotionally prepared for this cake, I mean it. I live in Nampa and genuinely considered DoorDashing a slice to myself later that week. (Okay, fine, it was the next day.) This cake altered my brain chemistry. If this cake were a man, I would go full Beyoncé and put a ring on it. The whole place feels well run and welcoming from start to finish. Somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. Great vibe, lighting, house-style music and excellent friendly service. My issue with this place, and frankly a lot of restaurants in and around Boise fall into this category, you feel like the pricing is above what it should be and what most people can comfortably afford for a weekly hang. The lion's share of their mixed drinks are $15 and up. The sandwiches and burgers are in the $18 range and don't come with fries. It's hard to pay $50 for a burger, fry and cocktail (incl. tax/tip) and feel good about it. Perhaps it's fine for a special occasion but is this the place you'd save for a special occasion? See the point...? Boise prices don't align with Boise budgets and that's sort of the greater problem here and for places like this trying to charge premium pricing. read more

I've been here on a couple of occasions and have enjoyed my experiences. They have both indoor and outdoor seating (in nice weather) and I've enjoyed both. The outdoor patio is along the bustling, foot traffic only area of Idaho so it makes for some great people watching as you enjoy your cocktails/bites. I've gone for snacks and cocktails on the patio. We ordered their brussels sprouts (I prefer crispier brussels so these were a bit of a miss for me) and their signature fries (delish!) to go along with our old fashioned cocktails. The old fashioned was pitch perfect. On another occasion, we dined indoors and I got their Eureka salad which was a crisply fresh blend of butter lettuce, heirloom cherry tomatoes, avocado, thinly sliced green beans, and broccolini. It's tossed with a lemon vinaigrette which was the perfect accompaniment to the salmon I had added (for an upcharge, of course). It made for a beautiful main dish salad. The service is a-ok and their prices are about what you'd expect for downtown Boise. Get to it! read more

Eureka! has been on my wish list to visit for quite some time. We were lucky to swing by and see an opportunity at 5:30 on a Saturday night and we're seated relatively quickly. We ordered the Baja fish tacos, Fish & chips, Chipotle Burger and chicken tenders. I had the Baja Fish tacos - fish had so much batter on it that was over fried, it crumbled to the touch...not flaky at all. I had to cut the fish in half for it to fit in the tortilla. The chipotle Mayo was completely lost in the abundance of pico and slaw. It was nice to have the option to switch out the tortilla chips for fries without an up charge. Overall, it was okay....would not order again only because I couldn't taste the fish, it was just crispy batter I could taste. The only thing that saved my meal was the phenomenal tarter sauce (which was not your typical sauce at all) that accompanied my husband's fish and chips. Hubby's fish and chips suffered the same fate as my fish taco fish....over fried, heavy batter and they almost looked like crispy fish nuggets. Totally unappetizing and not worth the price. Son had the chipotle burger, cooked medium. Said it was one of the best burgers he's ever had. He never finishes his meals but could not eat that burger fast enough....basically licked his plate. Daughter loved her chicken tenders. Said they tasted fresh and perfectly tender. Service was mediocre at best. Slow, slow, slow....restaurant was semi-slow for a Saturday night and it still took almost 1.5 hours for our visit. Asked for water and it came at room temp....had to ask for ice. Order came out missing sides we ordered. Never saw our waiter after food was served until 30 minutes after we received our food. Plates removed and had to wait 15 minutes for the check....and didn't even get a check, just took our card and without seeing what we were charged. Not the best experience for the money. read more

Our party of 8 rowdy women were celebrating a 50th birthday and a birthday card with hand written notes from a number of employees was awaiting the birthday girl. Been here a few times and it never blew me away but this time was particularly disappointing. First off I'd like to say the service was great and the cocktails were nice but a couple of things put me off. The food was not good at all and the prices were far too high for the poor quality. The fish tacos I got were cold and soggy because of the amount of guac they put on them. The fries were tough and chewy- not sure how they accomplished that. Also, $13.25 for a Tito's and soda is outrageous. There are so many better options downtown for good food and drink. read more
