Happened to get my bicycle over to them for a flat rear tire yesterday morning. also requested a truing-up of the wheels. I came to this shop to get a consultation cause my bike was tuned up a month ago in another bike shop and my shifter got harder and harder to shift after a while then the 24 speed was suddenly just 15 speed at best when working. After Jeff look at it and some magic, Lubricant and adjustment my bike is working as it should. 24 speed and shifting flawless. Jeff then proceeded to explain why the shifter acted that way. Made me so comfortable that I want those who read this review to be confident in going to 'Mount Holly Bicycles". I ride everyday when possible so I'll keep you posted on how this story will develop. Went here last week for the first time. I had a childs bike and a Unicycle that needed repair. As soon as I came in the shop I was greeted and assisted. I expected that they would take my bikes, give me a ticket and call me when they were done. Nope! He fixed them right on the spot. They just needed air and a bit of adjusting. This was the first time I've taken a bike in for repair. I spoke with someone on the phone. They were pleasant and knowledgeable enough so I brought the bike. A day later, I bought the bike in and encounter the same guy who I spoke to on the phone. He remembered me and my bike's issue. Even though he said it would take a week to fix my bike, he took it to the back and fixed it within 30 minutes. It was a great first experience. I was first introduced to the Mt Holly Bike shop at the Spellbound Century. They were one of the sponsors of this extraordinary event and they had a table set up with all of the other sponsors for people to visit after the ride. 1 mind blowing bike ride and 3 beers later I visited their table with my cycling friends. There was a brilliant blue Cannondale hanging from the back of the tent and even though the employees told me that it was 'Steve's bike' I started looking at it, gripping it up trying to climb on it to test it out. I was like - I'm buying this bike right now! Someone go get my wallet!!! The bike was like 6 sizes too big for me and as they said very nicely, that's Steve's bike. But I had 3 beers so .... I was a little obnoxious. About a month later I went into the shop. I wanted a new Cannondale. I had one and now I needed another (bikes are like potato chips....one isn't going to do anything for you). The young man that was guarding Steve's bike was there and he listened to exactly what I wanted. There was no ...add this, get that, etc. I told him the bike I wanted and he ordered it for me. (They have tons of bikes in their store, but I'm that difficult customer...I want that bike in this size but in that color..special order) My bike arrived in less time than I thought and I went to pick it up. My shiny black Cannondale was sitting there on the trainer waiting for me. It is such a beautiful bike. I finally got to meet Steve who made sure everything was at the appropriate size and setting. He rolled it out and put it on my rack shook my hand and I was on my way. Two things that I want to say about the Mt Holly Bike Shop. First, their customer service is excellent! Other reviewers have already said it - there are no high pressure sales. They treat you like a potential client regardless of whether you're just looking or actually buying and some places don't do that. You know the feeling.....you walk in and they have already determined whether or not you can afford anything. There is no judgement here. Second, I love the fact that they support events like the Spellbound Century - that was what brought me to the shop in the first place. As for the Cannondale, it's a glorious bike! Fast, sleek, sexy. I love it so much. Cycling will change your life, go to a good bike shop to get a good one and have it properly sized for your height, inseam and cycling style. I'm new to biking so when I went out in my mid-forties looking for a bike (and guidance), it was a bit overwhelming. I went to a number of bike shops and chain stores and everyone was helpful but nothing even close to what I experienced when I stopped by Mount Holly Bikes. The owner, Steve, has gone over and above what was expected on so very many occasions. He has walked me through picking out my bike by offering lots of information, instruction, test rides, patience and a LOT of understanding and care. Sadly this was also true when I lost my removable tire just a few weeks after purchase. Also true when a friend's bike fell off my new trunk rack en route (even after repeated detailed instruction). Again true when I had low or flat tires and especially the time I broke my hand break trying to get it in my car (for fear of bike falling off again like in previously discussed rack episode). I always feel like I have a "partner" in this with me to help guide me and clean up the pieces (literally) when I fail and get back on that bike. Whether you are an avid cyclist or a parent looking for your child's first bike with training wheels - THIS IS YOUR PLACE!!! It is a lovely little local bike shop that will give you lots of personal attention, extremely fair prices, and......no judgement when you keep making rookie mistakes. :) read more

I never felt pressure to buy and they went way out of their way to ensure I got the bike I wanted. Their thorough explanation for a novice like me helped tremendously. I never leave negative reviews but I totally feel the need to do so now. I bought a new bike and brought it to Mount Holly bikes to assembly for me. To be fair they told me it will take 7days due to the back log and that they may call be before the seventh day if they are done. I called on the 7th day since I did not get a call before then only for them to tell me the bike is not ready and that they have not started working on it. The person I spoke with this time told me it takes from 10-14days just for an assembly. I immediately told them I was coming to pick my bike up if it could not be completed that same day. I went back to pick up my bike and none of them felt it necessary to apologize for wasting my time. they just handed the box over to me. Terrible customer service and will never be going back. I took my bike to another Bike shop equally busy and had my bike ready in 24hours. read more

Mt. Holly Bicycles is a really great resource to have. You can tell they love what they do. They are so knowledgeable and obviously enjoy sharing their knowledge. I brought my daughters bike in, and they immediately found the issue and fixed it. Within minutes! In addition, they found a few other problems that could have resulted in a serious accident. They made a few adjustments, explaining everything as they went. All told, the visit only took minutes, was very reasonably priced, and I returned home with the repaired bike. I wish all my errands went this smoothly. I highly recommend this place for any bicycle needs large or small. read more
