    House salad

Wow... I can't say enough about this place. The service was hands down phenomenal. You are served by everyone and helped out by everyone. The place is perfectly nestled at the top of a shopping area with great views of the mountains! Now... the food. Best miso soup I have had in a very long time. The spicy yellowtail roll was so good!! Perfect amount of spice and very fresh fish! The salad was my favorite part of the entire meal. The salad dressing has a perfect balance of sweet and savory. I devoured it. The sake was amazing. It was all so fresh and delicious!

This sushi spot in Breckenridge is SO good. The sushi is really high quality -- we ordered fatty tuna sashimi, a dragon roll, atomic shrimp, and a shrimp tempura roll (can't remember the name). The fatty tuna was (obviously) the highlight -- extremely fresh and melted in my mouth. The rolls were also fresh and delicious, with the atomic shrimp being another standout. I also found out they have boba tea! I've been looking for a good boba spot in Summit County ever since my favorite place in Frisco closed. It was delicious -- not too sweet, and served in a huge cup. I like that the vibes are relaxed, but the food is top quality. It's a no-frills spot when it comes to the dining experience, but the food is seriously impressive for a mountain town. I'll be back... very soon

Randomly discovered this spot while craving Asian food during our Colorado trip. -- Reservations are highly recommended, it gets packed around dinner time. -- Our server did the best to keep up, but the restaurant was clearly understaffed, and several items we ordered took very long to make it to the table. -- Overpriced for quality. I've had far better Kin Medai in Napa and the Bay Area; this one was dull and lacked depth of flavor. -- The shrimp tempura missed the mark - far from Japanese-style, with overly thick batter and very little shrimp inside. -- Ironically, the standout dish of the night was the gyoza :(

The best sushi I've ever had--and that's a big statement coming from someone with endless sushi options in the Dallas area.

The best sushi I have had in a really long time. We sat at the sushi bar and the service was great. Every single thing we ordered was amazing - salmon nigiri, spicy salmon roll, peak 2, peak 4, peak 7 and peak 8. Everything was amazing.

    Tonkatsu Ramen (chicken)

This place was fairly good! Their tonkatsu ramen was tasty other than the chicken being a little tough. Their matcha tea was excellent, but they sell their matcha at the same price as their Thai tea.. despite getting FAR less Thai tea than matcha because of the fancy glass they fill to the top with ice. The Thai tea was watered down and terrible. Their Japanese omelette sushi was good, and their California rolls were good as well. They were extremely busy, but the server and hostess catered to us well and remained polite and friendly despite being very clearly stressed out. We sat at the sushi bar, and got to watch them make the sushi rolls right in front of us!! So that was very fun. It's a cute little place and i'd definitely recommend it if you like seafood.

    Omakase (Apr 2024) Plate #3 of 3

Absolutely delicious sushi experience, in the mountains at a ski resort no less. I did the Omakase and received three very unique plates of sushi, all wonderful. I also did the Japanese whiskey flight. If you're into Sake, they have a very large menu of options, cold, hot, flights, ultra premium, etc. I felt the pricing was very reasonable for an excellent service and great food experience. Only two words of warning are they have a very limited bar menu and kids menu. The kids menu is basically just scaled down versions of a couple adult items, like chicken terriyaki. So, if you have picky eaters, they may be going hungry here lol. On the bar side, they have a few great beer choices, lots of Japanese whiskey and Sake choices, and.... Titos vodka (I assume straight unless you want it mixed with a soft drink as they have no mixers). If you wanted full liquor bar for cocktails of choice, this won't work.

Great "hidden" gem. We wanted somewhere close to where we were staying --the village-- and this was it. Originally didn't have reservations so was looking at an hour wait. As we said, OK, no problem, the hostess said, 4 right? And sat us. Service was slow to start-- but they were busy. We were on vacation so waited patiently. Once the server came all the way to payment was perfect. The food was amazing!! Kiddos loved it. Parents did too.

This was great for a large group. The sushi was good and so was the service. We really enjoyed this dining experience.

Finally a place from my short list that didn't disappoint! Seafood of any time in our landlocked mountains is a challenge. I'd put the quality of Mountain Flying Fish up against Morimoto or Sushi Kashiba. Although a bit more casual it's exactly what you'd expect in a mountain town. We got local hospitality from our server too. He was knowledgeable but not in an elite manner as is often the case in some high end restaurants. Don't let the more casual atmosphere fool you, the price is consistent with high end restaurants. At Mountain Flying Fish you'll get what you pay for. Prepare to be amazed.

Amazing fresh food, the sushi tasted so fresh. Amazing service, the waitress was so friendly with our family. The ambiance was awesome. Highly recommend this place.

Our server was also very friendly. The restaurant is clean on the inside and has a nice outdoor area as well. We got a poke bowl, Philly roll and the rainforest roll and all 3 were a 10/10 Poke Bowl - you get to choose two meats, we chose to double up on the salmon and let me say they give a MASSIVE portion of fish. I was very pleased. Rainforest roll- this apparently is their most popular roll and let me say this was probably the best roll I've ever had! It has the perfect balance of flavors and if you love a saucy, flavor bomb roll this is it. Overall, it is a bit on the pricier side for sushi in my opinion but very well worth the dollars. Would definitely come back!

I ordered the miso salmon entree and my husband had the lobster ramen entree. I was looking at two different different and the waitress recommended the "papaya lady" to pair well with it. The broth was delicious to just sip on, and went great with the noodles.

We ordered fried pork dumplings (they had no vegetables in them) the steamed crab dumpling had no veggies. the egg roll was ok, they gave us this weird pinkish red jelly like stuff with it; it was ok but I don't know what it was. We ordered a special order sushi roll-snow crab and shrimp tempura no veggies- it took 30 minutes to get because the waitress wrote it down wrong. the miso soup was too salty and didn't taste like it was dashi stock nor did it have any green veggies in it. the California rolls tasted like grocery store kind we get back in Texas. (did I fail to mention that) And last but not least, the chicken teriyaki, we ordered 3...BIG MISTAKE. the chicken was rubbery (and THATS never a good sign) the sauce was sweet-like but not with honey or brown sugar. After 3 bites it was over. I don't know where this dude gets his chicken or he just doesn't know how to cook it. In Texas we have MANY Asian restaurants and WE KNOW the goodness that is the FLAVORS involved in cooking this kind of food. It's all about the flavor, the freshness. This place is a far cry from traditional Japanese food. And, I don't know if it's just Colorado NOT KNOWING great Japanese flavors and ingredients or just the people visiting Colorado DON'T KNOW but, to have anything above 2 stars for this eatery is ridiculous. (no RR inside for customers) DO NOT RECOMMEND IT
