The soup was rich and comforting with great flavor, and the main dish really stood out--the meatloaf was tender, perfectly cooked, and topped with a sauce that brought everything together. The mashed potatoes and gravy were smooth and hearty, and the Brussels sprouts had a great crispy texture with a ton of flavor. You can tell everything is made with care, not just thrown together. Bad experience, service by Rob was inconsistent and slow. Watch as other tables were seated, ordered and left before we got our food order in. The only reason we came was for the elk stroganoff but we watched as the last was sold.. as we were skipped over for entree ordering. It was also my boyfriend's birthday on this visit, overall just bad experience with service. This is more like a cozy family restaurant than a saloon or bar. Dimly light and super cozy, wood vibes very welcoming. Safe to say I feel it's an iconic solid farm to table kinda place that uses local game in standard dishes. I had Elk Stroganoff and hubby had bison rib eye. ***GABBY SHOULD BE FIRED*** I had a very disappointing experience at Blue Stag Saloon. From the moment we sat down, the service felt unnecessarily difficult. The biggest issue started when my son, who is clearly under 12 years old, tried to order from the kids menu. Our server, Gabby, insisted that he could not order from it, even though the menu appeared to be intended for younger guests like him. What should have been a simple request turned into an uncomfortable interaction that set the tone for the rest of the meal. Unfortunately, the service never improved. Throughout the meal the attentiveness was minimal and the overall attitude we experienced felt dismissive. When the bill came, I left a small tip that reflected the level of service we had received. After seeing the tip, the server returned to our table to question it, yelling at me which made the situation even more awkward for me and the people around us. Feeling uncomfortable and wanting to end the interaction, I added a little more money out of goodwill even though the experience had already been frustrating. What happened next was the most surprising part of the evening. As we were leaving the restaurant, the server followed us outside and continued confronting us about the tip. The interaction escalated to the point where she threw the cash back at me and used language that I would not repeat in a public review. Dining out is supposed to be a relaxed and enjoyable experience, especially with family, and this encounter left us feeling embarrassed and unwelcome. I don't know if she was having a bad day, but because of this experience, I would hesitate to return. read more

We ordered the rattlesnake skins because they sounded unique. Never imagined myself eating rattlesnake sausage lol, but It honestly tasted like normal sausage to me! Super great combo with the crispy potato skins and sauce. Would definitely get this starter again. The bison burgers were amazing as well; meat was super lean and juicy. Did not taste greasy at all! The menu says they serve shoestring fries, but they were just regular cut French fries. Overall, we enjoyed everything we ate here. I will say the service was great and they were really dog friendly. They brought our dog 2 treats. The drinks we had were also tasty. The food on the other hand was confusing. I had the blackened chicken sandwich. I would not consider being drenched in a sauce blackened. Plus it was sweet. Again, blackened is not sweet. It should be spicier. The staff here is small but mighty. One thing to note is that there is almost always a wait to get in because this place is popular. However, the staff were able to get us in. The front hosts were really kind, the table runners were nice, and our server was also really nice. The food was also really good, we ordered the chicken wings and the ribs as appetizers.
