This is a much overdue review. Ian did an amazing job installing our hardwood flooring in our home…read morein Truckee! We have used Ian twice, once in late 2019 for our original hardwood flooring install, and again in August of 2023. In 2019, we had a very positive impression of Ian early-on, just by the initial planning we saw him do for the floor layout, and it only improved from there. He told us about the known issues with the milling on the brand of flooring we selected (some pieces had varying widths and a few boards even tapered from one end to the other). He recognized the issue and knew how to sort the wood and handle the variation. (We don't want to even think about how the floor would have turned out with another installer without Ian's experience and diligence!) Because of the issues with the wood, the installation took longer than estimated. However, instead of rushing to get done on schedule and move-on to the next job, Ian took his time to make sure everything was done right, beginning to end. The results are amazing, and you should see the precise cuts around our river rock fireplace. We are truly impressed! It was so refreshing to see someone still taking genuine pride in their work, and deliver exceptional quality in today's construction world. Doing it right, even if it means taking longer on a fixed bid. He was the bright spot in an otherwise very stressful remodel. We are so happy that Ian of Metrik Flooring installed our flooring! I feel the need to warn neighbors against using Donovan at Sierra Screw and Nail. I hired him for a…read moresmall paint job to spray 4 doors in my garage that I will then put up in our house. He goofed up because it was too cold outside and the paint would not set and it ran like crazy. He cleaned up and fixed what he could for the day and said he would return once it warmed back up. He then followed up and set a new date, on a warmer day, to come and sand the messed up doors to correct them and then spray a second coat. He then ghosted. Have not heard from him since and he was supposed to come back a week ago. I have called and left a message and I have texted 3 times with no response in 8 days. Now I'm stuck with screwed up doors that I am going to have to pay someone else even more $ to have sanded and repainted. And, I'm out the paint he used on the first round. Fortunately I had not paid him anything yet. He seemed like he had the right intentions but I cannot figure out where he vanished to. So, I cannot recommend this business. Customer beware.

Envy Pest, without inspecting anything, gave me a $2200 quote to "fix the problem" without ever inspecting the interior or crawl space. The owner I spoke with assumed I was an out of state investor and I very much had the impression he was trying to up sell me... brief research shows that a systemic treatment is typically unnecessary, unless a colony has regular water supply and wet/moist wood. It turns out when I inspected the home myself we had a water leak under the home and the ants helped us learn of the problem! 45 minutes with a plumber fixed both the water and the ant problem. I rarely write reviews, but the reckless disregard in providing an honest quote and appraisal of the "pest problem" exhibited by this company infuriates me, steer clear!

I was repeatedly told that it would be done "soon"! Numerous attempts at getting the date resulted in "Don't worry, soon" to many times to count. Than it became "next week", again after asking for the start date. After several "next weeks" I was told their not going to do the job. It was a simple job requiring one gutter around 30 ft long. Now after seven months of waiting and being ignored winter is here. I have to store the equipment and wait for next year to find a reputable company. Don't be deceived, what they say and what they do are entirety different.

He incorporated my job into his busy schedule and did great professional work removing the old roofing and installing a new metal roof at a reasonable price. His crew were punctual, efficient, and conscientious, cleaning up every day with minimal disruption to our living conditions. He advised us of reroofing options ahead of time, took care of getting the building permit, started work on time and finished on time, with full inspections and excellent workmanship. So far the roof has held up well with the infrequent rains, and hopefully it should withstand some heavy snow storms this winter.
