This review is for their delivery option, I've never physically been to the store! I've ordered from this location a few times as I was staying at a nearby motel. Always got a small pizza and an order of mozzarella sticks. Their pizza is good, nothing to complain about and nothing I'm over the moon about, but I will say I'm grateful that they don't skimp on their pizza toppings! I hate when places skimp on ingredients so you have to order "extra" for a dollar or two more. They also gave me a lot of crushed pepper and Parmesan on the side in a little bag in case I needed! The only thing I can think of to "grumble" about was that the mozzarella sticks weren't as hot and melty when they arrived, probably because they were sitting in a car on the drive over so, understandable - luckily I had a microwave. Also wish they had a Diet Coke 16oz bottle option but I should opt for water anyway haha. Overall, I ordered delivery through Yelp, waited about 45 minutes to receive my food, had to reheat my mozzarella sticks a bit, but enjoyed a satisfying pizza. My delivery guy Mario was also really nice! Thankful for Yelp's Eat24 option that gave me a digital receipt, confirmation emails, an option to tip beforehand, and even a timer as to when I'd get my food. This place is not only "pizza the way it ought to be" but also customer service the way it ought to be! Very friendly lady (I think she was the owner) was at the cash register and after I placed my order, she mentioned that there was a coupon that she could apply that would get me a larger pie for essentially the same price! So refreshing after the recent experience I had at our regular Mt Mike's location near home (see my review of the Pleasanton location) - what a difference in customer experience! This place is also very clean and well maintained. The place has a great atmosphere with lots of natural light and a decent number of flat screen TVs. The owners clearly take pride in their location and it shows. Holy cow - just got my pizza and the nice lady already had some peppers and Parmesan packets packed for me in a baggie. Little things but really makes you feel appreciated as a customer. If there are any Mt. Mike's franchise folks reading this - please take note. This place represents your brand well! read more

I had to get a lot of food to the Berkeley campus in short order for an event so I turned to Mountain Mike's and was not disappointed! The staff was friendly and responsive over the phone, and helped me choose the right amount of pizza for the event (I initially tried to over-order and they offered their expertise so we wouldn't waste a bunch of food). So easy to put together an order, add to it, remove from it, and schedule the delivery. They really have this totally dialed. Price to quality ratio is solid. Everyone liked the pizza. I am looking forward to using Mountain Mikes again for this type of thing. Also I called about 30 min before drop off and asked for some sides of ranch and they made it happen - sent out a separate delivery driver just to drop them since the original driver had just left. Classic bait-and-switch. We love Mountain Mike's Pizza and this San Pablo location is only two blocks from our apartment so we order pizza here at least one a month for the last few years. Also, we get copious amounts of coupons almost every other week from, which we are thankful for. We ordered take-out last night using the same coupon that we use regularly (any specialty pizza for $20.99) and I told that to the cashier over the phone when I placed order, however she explained that she could not accept that coupon because their prices had changed recently. I told that I understood and changing your prices is fine and natural, but my coupon was valid until 1/30/2018 and I told her that she had to honor my coupon that I received last week because it is valid and the advertised price. She said she would give me a different (new) coupon for $5.00 off but would not take my valid coupon. Also, when I picked up the pizza and told her I was bummed that I brought the paper coupon in and she still wouldn't accept it. She gave me new coupons for next time that have been sharpied over to change their prices... the situation left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. Back then, the delivery was fast, and the pepperoni pizza was terrific. When searching Yelp for pizza nearby, I remembered the name. We picked up our order (ready quickly and very hot) and were delighted with the pepperoni pizza and the second pizza, mushroom and garlic. Highly recommended. I've still been ordering here over the years, but overall it seems like the food here is just realy inconsistent. Sometimes its just fine, sometimes its... just a little off. For instance, my "buffalo wings" came with no buffalo sauce on them at all. Just plain chicken, why? That makes no sense at all to me. Also somehow the blue cheese is sweet? Very gross. Also the pizza, a McKinley with garlic added, is also incedibly sweet. I feel like either I'm having a stroke or there has to be an absurd amount of added sugar to everything. Somehow the overly sweet pizza is drowning out Italian sausage, pepperoni, AND garlic. UPDATE: Always great customer service though. They provided a refund. UPDATE: The manager Raj personally called and apologized, this was a first and automatically won me over considering most (almost all) pizza places never do this and don't really make the time to care. We almost ordered from the usual Sliver, Zachary's or Little Star but Mtn Mikes had the best and most recent high stars Yelp reviews. Yes, I admit we read Yelp to choose from the numerous options. The Berkeley location is busy (a good sign), they make their pizzas to order, as ordered, super reasonable, hot, cheesy, flavorful and fast. We ordered the day before and they called the morning of delivery to confirm our large order. The Manager Kamal got it 100% correct, was very courteous and appreciative for our business. That's usually an exaggeration, but not this pizza. As for the "Italian" sausage, it is bland, flavorless and an insult to those of Italian heritage everywhere.
