    Pizza of the day...potato!!!
    Angela M.

Fast service. Fresh ingredients. Always satisfied. The pizza of the day changes daily and can be found on their website. A few steps from Downtown Berkeley Bart station is Sliver Pizzeria. With two slices, you usually get a free half of a slice (sliver). Perfect for brunch, lunch, dinner or breakfast leftovers. Crust is thin with an airy crispness. Toppings are abundant, fresh and so incredibly satisfying. The green sauce puts it over the top, elevating the toppings flavor that much more. I have never gone wrong stopping in and enjoying a slice or two, unlikely you will either. You can stay and eat or take it to go. Either way you have it you will most certainly enjoy!

This was my first time here. At the same time, quite a few choices and ways that you could order Pizza. I didn't really see any of the old school, regular kinds like pepperoni or combination. The pizza hustle selections were very creative. I ordered the Mushroom Pizza -2 slices. It came with 2 slices and what they call a sliver. It was a pretty good amount of food for $8. My Pizza was pretty tasty. I would definitely go again and try something else off of the menu.

Pretty good pizza! Their signature extra slivers are pretty large additional portions which was nice. I liked that the crust was thin, but the slice overall felt a bit greasy and not as refined/clean. It's a good spot with fun rotating flavors though!

We visit Sliver whenever we come to Berkeley and it never disappoints. The pizza is always hot and fresh and the flavors are great! Previously I wouldn't have liked that you only have one pizza flavor to choose from, but they've all been great and with the green sauce, even better! The service is always fast and friendly, though I will say we tend to pop in during odd hours of the day (like mid afternoon) so it's never crowded when we go. The interior is clean enough and pretty spacious. A good place to hang out with friends and enjoy some pizza.

I've been going to Sliver for over 10 years and would have considered myself one of its biggest fans. My friends and I used to plan our days around coming here because it was one of our favorite places. Today was honestly heartbreaking. The quality has completely collapsed. The pizza was so limp it literally folded over under its own weight, and I couldn't even finish my slice. But the bigger issue is that Sliver has abandoned the concept that made it special. Instead of the creative, thoughtfully crafted pizzas that made people love this place, the menu has been filled with literal slop. Nobody I know comes here anymore because it isn't the same restaurant we fell in love with. It's sad to watch a Berkeley institution lose its identity. I genuinely hope management listens to longtime customers and gets back to what made Sliver special, because in its current state I can't recommend it less.

Had to come here when visiting berkeley. I've always ordered from the store on shattuck so this was my first time here after graduating years ago. I was psyched that the slice of the day had both corn and potato - the 2 pizza toppings I realized I loved after having them on a sliver's pizza. Sad that they just give you a tiny container of the green sauce now. I remember filling a cup up with that stuff before in college. Delicious as always.

Quick service and great pizza. Similar to cheese board in the sense of one type of menu offering per day. Got the corn pizza and it was great. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area, the wait on a Saturday wasn't long there was no line and only took about 5-10 minutes for a whole pizza. Expensive though for a pizza ($30).

Corn pizza! This spot really shines in its daily different ways pizzas with fresh ingredients! There's no line to wait and the whole pie comes out within minutes. Service is kind and will give water cups. It's a causal spot and spacious restaurant with table and booth seating!

Sliver never disappoints! Fresh ingredients, cooked perfectly, extra cheesy, and full of flavor! We love the corn and asparagus toppings as well as their mushroom pizzas. You can't forget the green sauce either. Staff was super friendly and they had cute holiday decor. We will be back!

a berkeley classic! their green sauce is amazing as always (and I don't usually like cilantro). I ordered a slice of the daily special as a snack and of course it came with a sliver! I personally love it when their pizza comes with corn (their menu rotates daily) and FYI all their pizzas are vegetarian. Sliver reminds me of Cheeseboard but is more conveniently located near campus/southside. Usually my friends and I would order a whole box and share the whole thing. Service is very fast and you bus your own table.

Menu changes so check the website!

You don't have to stand and hold up the line anymore because there's only one pizza option on the menu. The staff is friendly and they'll get you your order in about 5-10 minutes. Plenty of seating, such as tables, benches, or a couch. The pizza will come with green sauce, which you can feel free to smother all over your slivers. The green sauce provides some freshness and acidity to the savoriness and cheesiness of the pizza. A go-to spot for me in Berkeley.

Ask the Community - Sliver Pizzeria

Do you get a sliver when you order a whole pizza?

Yes! You usually get 2 or 3 :)

Is the green sauce still free?

    Yes I believe it is!

Do they have gluten free pizza by the slice?

The gluten free crust option is by the pie not slice

    How is the vegan pizza?

The vegan pizza is like a salad on top of pizza dough. No cheese or sauce.

I passed by this place 2 weeks ago and they were closed. Does anyone know what happened?

Sliver closed its location last year because of the rental costs and could not reach an agreement with the landlord. They have relocated on 2468 Telegraph Avenue, the old Pieology location. I do hear they are going to reopen in downtown Berkeley…

Does sliver offer gluten free pizza? I've heard mixed answers and was wondering.

THEY DO! I had one last week and it was excellent!

I was there the other night with my beer buddy and all around friend with the same first name as I (and that's another story!) for the tribute to the local beloved character that passed recently, Mr. Bailey Pendergrass. A longtime institution in the Berkeley music scene from way back in the day till present. An interesting, kind fellow who still walked around in skinny trousers and a leather jacket- even on very hot days. And a hairdo like no other! He kind of reminded me of a character from Rocky Horror Picture Show or someone who could be played by Johnny Depp in some hip artistic movie. A bit of an eccentric, soft-spoken, amazingly charming man. A joy to sit down and chat with who had strong opinions and a distrust for doctors and their prescribed medication's,etc. I don't go very far back other than six or seven years when I met him at a popular watering hole called the Cornerstone on Shattuck. He would invite me to hang out while he ate his standard hamburger and fries and wash it down with what I remember was cranberry juice. He could never finish the whole burger so he'd take half home but would eat the fries usually, with a little help from me. We would talk about Minneapolis (where I'm from) and Prince of course, and he would share interesting stories. I'd keep him company until the music event would start where he had carte blanche, complementary entry with a plus one at the Cornerstone. I was his plus one and it was fun one night. I'll have to dig up the mixed CDs that he made for me that he presented in a recycled/repurposed "In-n-Out" bag, it was a nice touch. There was a little hand written note as well. The IVY ROOM put on a nice event and many showed up to pay their respect. Some were given a chance to get on the stage and recall memories. However, the crowd never stopped talking, so it was very hard to hear their praises, etc. The bartender was superb, but I'm sorry I didn't catch her name, very kind and approachable and humorous and of course, extremely efficient! It's a nice cozy room with a lot of history and an eclectic group of patrons. I chatted with a couple of extremely friendly kind people. However, I left before the music started as after a long day of work, I started to fade. Thank you Ivy Room for opening up your space to honor Mr. Bailey Pendergrass, and the wonderful people attending this event.

Open mic night gives young people a voice. Older musicians act as unofficial mentors - the best advice from one was to 'make me feel something!!' I love the art scene - and to me there is a special intersection of utility (maybe articulating an important message - or building a useful couch) --- and the beauty of that piece. How you put it together, how it looks and most importantly how it makes you feel when you sink into the couch or words. I have a lot of opinions and a lot to say. These days you really can't complain much - in the world you are a nag and in church you are labeled a legalist. The secret is if you say those things in a beautiful way or tip toe around a subject asking questions and letting the audience come up with their own conclusions. The young people today I have lots of sympathy for. The 50 year olds could get away with earning $50k/yr - the 40 year olds could get away with earning $100k/yr but the 20 and 30 year olds in the bay area with 2 kids need to earn $200k in their household to make ends meet. Gentrification is the enemy - those who are 'rich.' Lets blame the boomers. Maybe there are some other 'enemies' of the unaffordable nature of the bay area. I just had a half order of the handcut french fries and they really are top-notch man, they're served with different condiments that you can help yourself to. I chose the Sriracha sauce and ketchup. I couldn't find the horseradish tonight. I've been coming in here for several years and I really dig it. Very special people hang out here, kind of a hippie Berkeley vibe. I've had great long conversations and met very groovy folks. It's a great watering hole.
