Came because it was a friend's favorite pizza place! Thought it was unique with the flavors. I got the artichoke pizza and it tasted like the artichoke spinach dip/chowder, which is very creamy! There was no line when we went. They don't have seatings inside, only a table. They have a small area for you to hang out and eat outside though.

This was okay overall. The artichoke pizza was definitely my favorite. It was super creamy and flavorful, but it was really oily, which made it a bit heavy after a few bites. Honestly, all the slices we ordered were pretty oily. Service was quick and we got our slices pretty soon after ordering. There is seating outside with tiered steps and bench seating. The spot itself feels pretty run down and not very clean. It's definitely more casual and is good if you're looking to grab a quick slice or stop by after drinking. The location is also convenient because it's near Telegraph and you can easily shop and walk around before or after stopping here. Other than that, I'd probably choose another pizza spot if I were looking for a more elevated spot.

Came here around 1am on a Saturday night and it wasn't too busy. They still had 3 or 4 pizza options despite it being so late. Artichoke Basille's Pizza hits the spot every time! I have come during the day too, and there is always a small line because of how good it is. Food: - Artichoke (Artichoke Hearts, Spinach, Cream Sauce, Mozzarella, and Pecorino Romano Cheese): 5/5 Possibly the best pizza I have ever had. I can't believe I was missing out of this pizza my whole life. Service: around a 5 minute wait for the pizza to be heated up and cashiers have always been friendly Pricing: $ so worth it for the size of the slice!! extremely filling! Ambiance: they added a lot of seating outside which is nice and they have parmesan/red pepper to use Parking: Sometimes there is street parking, but sometimes it is hard to find parking haha Would love to come back and try all of their pizzas!

I really wanted to like this place, but the quality just isn't there. If you do try it, only grab a slice if you see it coming fresh out of the oven, reheated slices are rough. I ordered a pepperoni slice and it was pretty bad. To make things worse, the guy serving had clearly been cleaning something in the back, came up with dirty hands, and still handled the pizza with bare hands. Not a good look. If you're going to try Artichoke Basille's, stick with their specialty slice, it's the only thing worth getting here. Everything else is a skip.

Conveniently located across the street from the Graduate, hotel and down the street from Top Dog. We were going to go to Blondies, but this just popped up next to us so we gave it a try. It's set up like Blondies, a counter with all the pizza's on display for you next to the cash register. I was surprised at how conscientious they are about cross contamination that they used a different pizza cutter with each pizza to do the initial slice off the pie. They had a few to choose from. Deep Dish Sicilian, sausage, probably peperoni, and artichoke with a white cream sauce. I almost got the artichoke, but I was afraid the cream sauce wouldn't agree with me so we got the one with basil and cheese on it. To be honest the pizzas don't look very appetizing just sitting there behind the counter. They are cold and have some grated cheese just on top of them. The slices also look small for $7.95. We picked out the basil with cheese slice and he slid it into the over. He asked if we wanted it in a box to go or on a plate. We opted for the plate as we were going to eat it right there at the walk up counter in front of the register. After about 4 minutes our pizza came out of the oven. He sliced it in 2 length wise and handed to us on a double plate as it was so long. Well, it looked bigger and much more appetizing after it came out of the oven. We each took a half, it was hot so we took our time. As it turns out the pizza was delicious. It was a very think crust and the cheese was gooey. I'm happy with our purchase. It was a good snack before we started our service project in downtown Berkeley. I recommend this pizza joint. The pizza is good size and comes out hot and delicious. The service is quick and very friendly. The server defiantly had a smile on his face the whole time.

A grab-and-go casual pizza stand that has huge slices and outdoor seating. We got the artichoke pizza, which is more of a white sauce cheesy slice that has an artichoke twang to it.

The slice DWARFS Costco pizza in comparison (which is crazy). It was like approaching deep dish thickness. The artichoke was a tender, unique touch to a pizza but it was too creamy and only was yummy when it was still hot. Then it got kind of gross. It was fine when reheated though. Also the dude lowkey eyeballed me before naming a price for water. The box also costs extra compared to the plate (makes sense) but I wish that had been disclosed to me before...

Get the artichoke pizza! The lines are typically long but worth the wait. Sometimes the pizza comes out still cold in the middle and I've seen some other customers get it twice baked.

I remember when this place first opened back when I was going to school here. It was notable since it was one of their first west-coast locations, and only a block away from where I lived. All these years later, it still hits the spot. If it's your first time, I would recommend going with their signature artichoke pizza. The slices are huge and priced accordingly ($8), but one slice is pretty much always enough to be a meal. It was great in the college days when you didn't want to commit to a whole pie, and even now it works as a grab-and-go option. It takes about 5 minutes for them to heat it up, but if you have the option, I'd recommend waiting for a fresh pizza to come out of the oven.

Perfect late night grub! I can ALWAYS depend on this spot after a long night out or concerts. There's not much to say about artichoke basille's besides the fact that no other pizza joint serves big pizza slices quite like them! Park in the nearby parking garage or you can find parking on the street! I arrived late night at around midnight on a weekday and found easy street parking.

I've had Artichoke Basille's in NY and it was amazing. However when I tried the artichoke slice again here, it was a goopy runny mess with a very hard crust on the bottom. There were also not enough artichoke pieces to my liking. Not bad, but I agree with the other reviews saying it's probably better fresh out the oven.

Ordered and they heated up our pizza in the oven. Wait was pretty quick, about 3-5 minutes. My friend and I shared an artichoke pizza for snack and they had cut the pizza in half. It was creamy and cheesy. The crust was a good texture. I think it does need more artichoke slices on the pizza though. There's outdoor seating and a table inside that we ate at. Good late night snack.

For one it brings back so many good memories, Blondie's always makes me happy. The second reason is they now have 100% BEEF PEPERONI! You heard me, 100% BEEF PEPPERONI! For some people that's not a big deal. For someone who hasn't eaten pork their whole life & always has to avoid getting pepperoni on their pizza, its a HUGE freaking deal. I love, love, love when the rare occasion happens that I get to enjoy BEEF PEPPERONI on my pizza. OK besides that, the pizza is amazing. I was literally closing my eyes and in my happy place the whole time. Now for those that never had BEEF PEPPERONI, please go try it. It is so much higher quality than pork pepperoni, so I've been told. I plan to make many more trips in the near future, thats how excited it made me. By the way I loved the cheese just as much, yum yummy. Pro tip: parking is hard, obviously, downtown Berkeley and all. So either walk, Uber, find parking, take the bus, or do as I do and tag team it and drop off a friend to go order for the whole car and drive around until they are ready to be picked up. Do what you have to, just get there. Now go enjoy yourself, you can thank me later.

I've been looking forward to visiting Pizzeria da Laura ever since I heard about Chef Laura Meyer's…read moresuccess in world pizza competitions. It definitely lived up to the hype. The location is excellent. It's within walking distance of UC Berkeley, just a minute from Downtown Berkeley BART, and there's a public parking garage a block away. Another nice touch is the market next door. They sell pizza by the slice, snacks, and drinks. I would've been there 100% during my college days. The customer service was outstanding. Everyone was genuinely friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions. The atmosphere was warm, clean, and inviting. You can watch the pizzas being made, and there's also a TV if you want to catch a game while you eat. It had a relaxed neighborhood feel that made us want to stay a little longer. Having delivered for Round Table back in the '90s, I have an appreciation for the flow of a pizza operation. Everything felt organized and efficient. We started with the Chicories & Beets salad. It was fresh, crisp, and a perfect way to start the meal. We ordered the 18" NY Ray J and the Detroit The Standard. The Detroit The Standard was my favorite. The crispy, caramelized cheese edges were incredible, while the inside stayed light and airy. The mushrooms were perfectly cooked, not soggy at all. Every topping tasted fresh, and the balance of pepperoni, sausage, onions, olives, and sauce was spot on. The NY Ray J was just as impressive. The crust had the perfect balance of crispiness and chew, making it easy to fold. The combination of thin and thick pepperoni, creamy burrata, fresh basil, fermented honey, and Parmigiano Reggiano was outstanding. Every slice came with a great cheese pull. Both pizzas had crispy crusts, fresh toppings, quality ingredients, and just the right amount of sauce. We left feeling satisfied, not heavy or bloated. We visited on a Wednesday, and by dinner time the restaurant was full. That's always a good sign. One of the highlights of the visit was chatting with Chef Laura about dough, ingredients, and technique. It gave me an even greater appreciation for the attention to detail that goes into every pizza, and I picked up a few ideas that will definitely improve my homemade pizza game. I'm actually eating the leftovers as I write this review. They reheat beautifully. The crust stays crispy, the toppings still taste fresh, and they're just as satisfying the next day. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. Whether you're a Berkeley local or just passing through, Pizzeria da Laura is absolutely worth the trip.

We were greeted by the friendliest server (a tall guy with curly hair whose name I unfortunately didn't get but shout-out to him) who asked us if we had any questions about the menu. My friend and I had already glanced at the menu when we checked in with the host, so we pretty much knew what we wanted. I did ask our server about crust options though and ended up going with the New York style because I didn't have the stomach capacity for the slightly thicker options like Detroit but perhaps next time with a bigger group! We ordered The Standard, which seemed like a good choice because of the diverse, balanced toppings, and the chicories & beets salad. The salad arrived quickly, and the pizza was brought to our table soon after. I liked how refreshing and crisp the salad was, but the pizza was really what I wanted. It was everything I wanted in a pizza - definitely the best choice of the lineup imo. The crust was so soft and pillowy I couldn't resist devouring it all and leaving no trace. I'm very much a crust gal. Glad the plan to hit up Rose Pizzeria didn't work out so that we could discover this gem. With the various styles of pizza options available, there's sure to be something from the menu for everyone here!

The biggest issue was that the food no longer seemed to have the same level of care and quality. The spicy Caesar, which I had enjoyed in the past, was surprisingly flavorless. The mushroom pizza was decent, but it was overly charred and lacked the balance and attention to detail that once made it stand out. It wasn't bad--it just wasn't exceptional, especially for the price. What made the experience more frustrating is that the prices haven't reflected this decline in quality. Even my spritz felt skimpy, with the glass mostly filled with ice. The service didn't help. To be fair, the staff have never been particularly warm or attentive, even during the years when I loved the food, so that wasn't new. The difference is that when the food was outstanding, it was easy to overlook the indifferent service. Now that the quality seems to have slipped, it stands out much more. Nine months ago, I would have enthusiastically given this place five stars. Now it feels like corners are being cut while the pricing remains the same. I hope this was an off night, but based on this visit, it's no longer the restaurant I used to rave about and will no longer recommend.
