Overloaded pizza with no balance, baked wings with zero crisp, and even the marinara I paid extra for came cold in a plastic cup. The only edible thing was the cheesy jalapeño dough bites--and that says everything. Quantity over quality, no care in execution. Won't be back. This review went down to 1 star. I just spent 15 minutes filling out the form on the website. Captcha was so annoying and wouldn't accept my information. I then called the restaurant and they tell me they can't find my order. Lunch special for 2! AYCE pizza and salad bar. Not sure how much other Mt Mikes charge, but this downtown Oakland one charges $15.99. Supposedly, some branches charge $9.99 or $12.99 for the special but drinks are not included like it was with our lunch. Pizzas weren't out yet at 11:15 when we got there. They said it'd be another 6 or so minutes but the salad bar was ready to go. The salad bar selection was great. I can't think of anything that was missing! Since we were the first ones there, the ingredients and presentation was pristine! The drink selection was self-serve. I got the lemonade and it was good. By the time my salad was finished, pizzas started coming out. First out was a cheese pizza The second pizza was half pepperoni and the other half was a combo of mushrooms,olives, green peppers & pepperoni. 3rd pizza was half ham & pineapple and the other half green onions, tomatoes and bacon ? (I didn't try that one). I was getting pretty full at this point , but I grabbed a slice of the next pizza which had bbq chicken & pineapple. It started to get busy at noon as nearby office workers started coming in. Staff kept the pizzas coming so I think they've figured their daily needs to provide for being in the downtown area. You know what it is. Serviceable pizza buoyed by a serviceable salad bar. Separately, they'd be pretty bad, together, they're kinda alright. Baygreens and Mama's Boy are right down the street and both offer outstanding salad and pizza, but in two different buildings. I mean, my company orders pizza from them frequently for large meetings, so get to eat free Mountain Mike's pretty often, and at that price, it's unimpeachable. It was my first time trying Mountain Mike's - we wanted to have food to serve for an outdoor picnic, so we ordered a large vegetarian pizza, and then took advantage of a buy one large, get one medium free deal to add on a medium pepperoni pizza. It was ready quite quickly for pickup, within 10 minutes of ordering. Modified large Yosemite pizza with garlic white sauce and no olives, base cheese, artichoke hearts, fresh sliced tomato, onion, garlic, regular crust, spinach: I liked this quite a lot. I appreciate the option to swap the sauce for white sauce. Usually I find vegetarian pizzas to be too plain and not seasoned enough, and/or being overpowered by the "healthy" taste of vegetables (in a bad way). However, this one was really tasty. They were very generous with the cheese, and I feel the onions and garlic made it nice and savory, so the spinach, artichoke, and tomatoes just make the flavor more interesting overall. I felt it all went together quite well. Medium pepperoni pizza with regular crust, red sauce, base cheese, pepperoni: It was quite tasty. The pepperoni was crunchier than your typical pepperoni pizza. It ended up being a hit with our group. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with it and the deal made it reasonably priced (if we didn't have the buy one large get one medium free, it would've been more on the expensive side). It's not usually crowded here when I've walked by, so it should hopefully be reliable to get the pizzas without a long wait as well. However, the parking near the restaurant is mostly just metered street parking so keep that in mind if you're coming by car. read more

Coming from me, a rare 5 (or more like 4.5 because I tend to not give 5 out of principle to imply improvement is possible, not in a patronizing way)! Well, take it with a grain of salt though.... I ordered take out, and the staff were quite friendly. While the order did take a bit to finish, they do make it fresh so it's understandable. They have vegetarian options (I got the Veggiemore this time), and the pizzas in general are delicious. What was really the kicker, though, is on Tuesdays they have a promotion for 40% off large pizzas. That surprised me as I had happened to go in on the right day without prior knowledge, and 40% is no joke. It turns something that might hurt your wallet to a multi-meal steal. If you're looking for relatively high quality and affordable pizza, this is an amazing deal. The place itself seems nice to dine in as well. They have many screens to keep you entertained, and it seems like they even have a semi-private in the back you can use for things like parties. Overall a great place I can highly recommend - especially on Tuesdays! The owner of this establishment is incredibly rude and insulting. I order from mountain mikes all the time and I've never had an experience like the one I had today. I ordered a few pizzas and one was trash. Even the kids didn't like it. I called to let them know and get a refund on the one pizza and the owner gaslighted me, said they should have never taken my order and that I call for refunds all the time. I was very confused because like I said, I order from mikes all the time (first time at this location) and have never had an issue. When I asked her for details she got even more rude and said I'm "blocked from all mountain mikes". This was insulting and made me feel so uncomfortable. Mountain Mike's is my favorite of the chain pizzerias (and quite frankly my overall favorite pizza). When I crave pizza, I don't crave deep dish or brick oven pizzas, as delicious as they are. I crave the humble, no fuss, everyman pies I grew up with. Mountain Mike's is a little pricier than some of the other places but it's worth it. The pepperoni curls up into little cups in the oven and come out super crispy (but definitely not burnt). I like that the marinara isn't sweet (I hate sweet tomato sauce and prefer it to be spicy), you get good cheese pull action, and once you start venturing into the large and Mountain sizes you're bringing home a LOT of pizza. I'm pretty basic when it comes to pizza -- I'm happy ordering a classic pepperoni every time -- but sometimes I'll throw some green bell pepper on there for something a little different. The Everest is a great combo pizza with salami AND linguica. MMMM. The pizza is always done really fast here. I usually don't have to wait more than 15-20 minutes for it to be ready to pick up, and the couple of times I've had it delivered the delivery guy has shown up way earlier than quoted. Since I'm a regular, the woman who always answers the phone when I call to place my order knows what I usually get and always asks in a friendly way if it'll be me or my fiance coming to pick it up. I like that level of familiarity, and that the staff are always welcoming and nice when we go in. I was thrilled when this location opened up a couple years back because it's so close to me (about a ten minute walk), and I'm happy to continue supporting it and the great people that work here. read more

DO NOT RECOMMEND FOR LARGE ORDERS! I ordered pizza delivery for a client and I called several times in advance, a week in advance, to set up the large order. The owner, I believe, was impatient and passed the phone off to someone else several times. I asked for a receipt to be emailed to me since it was a business transaction and I had to call back several times to get the invoice emailed to me. I gave the card information and my cell phone number and was told they could not run my card until the day of the delivery. I said that was fine, and I left my cell phone (and the email address that I had left several times before) and no one reached out to me. Instead, they asked the clients we were sending pizza to for cash, and never reached out to me. This was supposed to be a nice treat for the clients, not a stressful experience. The owner was unapologetic even though I had spoken to him many times. My company has made a note to not order from here again for a large order. I ordered large orders from several other pizza places for other clients and they were able to fulfill the order with no issues. We will not be returning, order with caution. read more

This was my first time at a Mountain Mike's! There are about 3 entrances to get inside, but the entrance to the far south is the only way in. I came here for the lunch buffet with my boyfriend. There was plenty of seating and looked like a comfortable lunch spot for groups. There was a group of 8 sitting across us. Food: 3/5 - The salad bar is pretty typical. But, after my second serving of broccoli and further investigation, I spotted black spots on it.. so I stopped eating. Loved the canned peaches though. I got to try the BBQ pineapple chicken pizza, pineapple pepperoni, jalapeño pepperoni, and cinnamon pizza.
