Farmer John took the time to talk to me about his grass fed cows which takes extra care and time. Most recently we bought a prime rib for Christmas and our family thought it was outstanding. The staff did seem annoyed that we wanted to spend way too much money getting sandwiches and groceries with them, but at least they were efficient, and the selection is eclectic and fun. They've got fresh wild turkey eggs, a surprisingly great selection of cheese, all kinds of house-cured meats, as well as the standard array of deli meats with which they'll make you some pretty decent sandwiches. There's also all sorts of sauces, jams, pickled pineapple (!) local honey, beer, cider, some bizarrely priced minced dried onion...I had a blast poking around and overpaying for a random assortment of edible delights (although some were more delightful than others). The owner was very friendly and comically had a sniff of the meat. He gave me with very specific instructions as to how to cook it. I say the best possible way to see a butcher who is passionate about the product he is putting out. Perfectly prepared and will look forward to coming back if I am in the area again. For over 70 decades I've enjoyed the tasty sausage - until this year, 2024. It was so apparent when I fried the sausage something had changed. In the past there was a light layer of grease from the sausage fat. This year there was no grease, only water. The pan filled with 1/3" of water that had to be drained to properly fry the sausage. The taste was even worse! Gone were the spices that, in the past, contributed to the delicious taste. The sausage is now very bland and tasteless. My husband even commented the sausage tasted like cardboard with no flavor at all. The cooked sausage and another package in the refrigerator went in the trash. Sad to say but after over 7 decades, good bye Marona's. There will be no more annual treks to buy what used to be the best breakfast sausage you could find. So sad.

The restaurant decor looked very nice when I stopped in to get my to-go order. I have heard great things about this restaurant and was excited to try it. Unfortunately I also ordered a Tabouleh salad with grilled chicken. There was SO much dressing (oil) on the Tabouleh I could barely taste the actual vegetables--the oil was even leaking out of the container, so that was disappointing. Also the grilled chicken was fatty and not very tasty so I was unable to eat it as well. I do want to try some other dishes here in the future to see how other dishes taste.
