This is Shaver Lakes BEST restaurant. There are others in town that we enjoy but this has it all. Ambiance is clean rustic and well taken care. If you like that small town feel, this is your place! Food is alright, we had the burgers and they were pretty good. The servers are super friendly, though the service was middle of the road. We tried the tiramisu, but the cake part was dry and grainy, can't recommend it. All in all not a bad experience, just a bit pricey for what you're getting. This review is for the bar section only as I have not had a chance to dine here yet. Their liquor selection is just the right mix of what is needed and Jen took such great care of us we will be back! She has a great "bar side manner" and made our drinks delicious and with a smile. Steady under pressure and friendly throughout. Having bartended many years ago, I definitely respect her skills and really enjoyed her personality too! Definitely not a dive bar so don't expect $2.00 PBR cans. So I came to this place wanting a steak, I heard that Aroma had an amazing ribeye steak. So I went expecting a great steak, When my steak got to my table it was very undercooked, I asked for medium rare I got rare, the mashed potatoes were more like lumpy baked potatoes but really not that bad the steak really wasn't that bad but it wasn't really that good either, Not to mention the service was bad, when my server came to my table she just kind of stared at me when I told her my drink order so I asked if she wanted to see my ID ? And she said no and proceeded, never did she come by to see if everything was good or if I even wanted another drink, but I noticed when other people came in they got a whole rundown on the chef special of the day all the drinks they offer and so on, my experience here was not good I don't recommend this place at all read more

We went to the Aroma at Huntington Lake today. I believe it just opened. Nice workers. We ordered chips & salsa. The salsa was good. Fried zucchini. Not a huge selection, but it is right on the lake. You can sit outside and look at the gorgeous view. Would definitely go back. read more

Time to give these guys a second look. We had eaten here a few years back and were impressed. But subsequent visits didn't live up to the original experience. After a long hike at Dinkey Lakes we decided to give them another try. And we are glad we did. The menu was updated and excellent. Everyone liked their meals ranging from pasta to burgers, chicken sandwiches and entree salads. The drinks were fabulous. A little more upscale than we expected in the mountains, a pleasant surprise. The servers were on the spot and friendly. And Chief G came out to meet us and promises to continue with the current success. We will be back for sure. Visiting shaver lake, came across Aroma yelp page. The food looked delicious and let me tell you it did not disappoint! We ordered the ribeye dinner and the Chicken Marsala pasta. The ribeye was delicious. A little bit more well than we wanted but it was still tender and a little juicy but overall savory and well seasoned. The Marsala! The chicken was cooked to perfection. It melted in my mouth and I wish I could have it again for dinner tonight . They do change their menu with seasons so don't expect them to have all things you see on yelp. Been to Aroma a few times and it could be hit or miss. But last night was a hit. Service was great. We had the salmon and pork chop followed by the apple cobbler. All the dishes were very good, well presented and tasty. And my one test are the veggies. Broccoli and asparagus were green and tender but not over done. We live in Shaver and the dining establishments are limited so nice to see Aroma stepping up their game. And the topper was the fire in the stove that kept my wife warm on what turned out to be a rainy and snow night. Great job and look forward to our next visit. read more

Excellent Steak and Service, But Skip the Bread What do you call a sad steak? A miss-steak. Thankfully, there were no such tragedies here. I came for a nice dinner and found a very comfortable spot with a unique ambience, both inside and out. The staff was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout the entire meal. The main event, the Rib Eye, was cooked exactly as I requested, featuring a beautiful crust that gave way to a perfectly prepared interior. While it leaned a bit on the salty side for my personal taste, it was an excellent cut of meat and well-executed. The zucchini sticks were a standout appetizer--pleasantly thick and very flavorful. The one true disappointment was the bread. The rolls were dry and completely unremarkable. Honestly, they could have just saved themselves the effort. Despite this minor carb-related incident, the overall experience was fantastic. I would definitely recommend Aroma Tavern to anyone looking for a place with great service and a masterfully cooked steak. Just maybe fill up on the tasty zucchini instead of the bread. read more

My new favorite place in Shaver. Came for 4th of July dinner and my first time at the Tavern. Sat in the bar to hear the live music. Had an exceptional night all around. I had the salmon and the street corn. Food was delicious along with a tasty pinot. But what sold me was the very friendly staff from the greeter to the bartender and assistants. They were busy yet made sure to take a moment to connect and engage and make you feel welcomed. The vibe tonight was such a blast. Would have given them 5 stars but the service was weak. Sign at entrance said "Wait to be seated" we stood there for a few. When we were seat, never asked or brought water. We waited for a bit before our order was taken, asked for water then. Bad part, they were not busy. Came here after a day in the snow. Was seated immediately and our waitress took our drink orders. She was super helpful and nice throughout the evening. Inside it was warm and inviting with a cabin feel. Ended up ordering just a couple appetizers so I ordered the appetizer zucchini and the crab dip. The zucchini was so good!!! The breading was perfect and for the price, I was pleasantly surprised with the portion size. The crab dip was good but needed some more crab! Aroma was the last restaurant before heading north out of Shaver Lake and towards our camping site. Given the location and the circumstances, I'm going to give Aroma a solid Yelp 4. The welcoming was cold and the meat was dry. I would give it a 2.5 if I were in a busy city with more choices. I enjoyed the ambience. The food is great The service is personal and helpful. The parking is easy (compared to many places in Shaver Lake).... The remodeling inside the building is reflective of the area with locally made tables from forest and sawmills nearby. Woodstove on cold days after snow sports. Went both Friday and Saturday. A sign out front says "Happy Hour Friday and Saturday 3-5" it also says live music. Nobody inside knew anything about a happy hour and there was no music either day. I'm not sure why you would deliberately put a sign out and not offer anything on the sign. Seems a bit shady. My husband and I were visiting Shaver Lake a couple of nights and decided to come to dinner here. I had a ribeye (yummy) and my husband had a chicken Cesar salad that he liked. Loved this place!!! Aroma Tavern offered elevated comfort foods with all the Shaver Lake charm! The restaurant feels like a log cabin inside. The menu offers many beers on draft along with craft cocktails. The pork belly mac and cheese was soooo good. The pork belly is slow roasted but also so crispy, yum! I called early and made a reservation: the woman I spoke with was friendly and efficient. When we walked in they quickly seated us and handled our party of 8 (with a small child!) pleasantly. The tavern was comfortable and nicely decorated with an appropriate mountain theme. However the best was the perfectly cooked steaks! Others in our party had other entrees which they also enjoyed. I especially loved the avocado topping on the steak. One lack was an unsweetened tea but that was not a big drawback. Others were enjoying mixed drinks, tap beer so likely not an issue for most. There was live music as well for those sitting outside. Inside was so well insulated we couldn't hear it just outside our door. So best of both worlds! read more

Aroma Tavern is a great addition to Shaver lake village and community! We stayed at the inn across and ate at the restaurant twice. The food was great and portions are big (so bring your appetite or take the rest back to your hotel). The drinks were great! I truly enjoyed sitting in the dining area near the fireplace. Madison was our server for both nights and absolutely fun to be around with. She's very attentive and takes the time to listen and chat although the next night was busy but she still made the time to talk. We can't wait to be back and hope to see Madison again. read more

We attempted to stop in and have a cocktail and review the dinner menu. It was 3 o'clock when we arrived. I stood at the desk inside to ask if we could have our dog on the patio. I waited 3 to 4 minutes there. Then I saw somebody else with their dog on the patio so we went outside at the patio. The waitress delivered food to the table near us. No one greeted us, no one said we'll be with you in a minute, completely ignored us. At 3:15 we left. We were going to go back for dinner. Aroma Restaurant and Whiskey Bar is not quite the same as Aroma Tavern and, in some respects, not quite as good in this incarnation. The really-tasty ribeye and salmon options are gone and I get it that some might have been turned off owing to price. Instead, Aroma WB now offers the barbecue meats platter concept. Chicken was executed fairly well. Pulled pork tasted like it spent the day in a crock pot and had only a (KC Masterpiece?) BBQ sauce squirted over the pile of SUPER soft and kinda over-done pork. Moist, but almost had the porkiness cooked out of it. Daughter has had the smash burger and likes that a lot. Got to give credit, though; staples on the menu like the Mac and cheese and the maple whiskey cocktail are great. Next time, I'll try the brisket. Aroma seems to have always had slow service (4-5 visits since they opened), so if you are in a hurry and/or just can't slow down to enjoy a cocktail on the deck or in the spacious bar, think again. Do I wish they had kept the old menu? A little. But Aroma is one of the nicer all-around dining options in Shaver. I do suggest making a reservation. read more
