My whole family used to use Mountain View as their go-to car wash, but we gradually became the last holdouts as everyone else got fed up with the wonky pricing and hit-and-miss quality of the finished work. After what happened to us today, we will be joining everyone else in avoiding this business. We took our car in for a general wash and shampoo the seats and carpets. The cost $230...okay. It would take about 3 1/5 hours...also okay, since we could leave and come back. Later, husband returned to find his battery dead. They had left all the doors open to help the seat and carpets dry and apparently had not turned off the inside lights, which completely drained the battery after a few hours. Wow...not okay... but accidents happen. When he let the manager know his battery was dead, he was told they don't give jumps. Then, she let him know they would be closing in 1 1/2 hours. That's it. No acknowledgement they screwed up, no offer to rectify their mistake. The manager showed zero concern about the bad situation they had put him in. When he called to tell me about what happened, I thought there must have been a misunderstanding, but when I drove back to Mountain View, the manager essentially said the same to me. When we asked the manager for her name, she refused to give it to us, and instead said she needed to talk to the district manager and walked away to make the call. Eventually, she gave us an email address where she said we could send any questions and concerns we had. She also finally told us her name was Clara. I think it is a major red flag when the manager of a business, especially one who works directly with the public, won't give you something as simple as a first, or last, name because it usually indicates they are trying to avoid accountability for something they know is wrong. I thought about giving a two-star rating because the manager did eventually contact a nearby employee who was able to give us a jump. That guy was everything the manager should have been, but all the way to the end, Clara was such a jerk, so I just couldn't. Even though everyone involved spoke perfect English, she rudely insisted on talking to the employee, who came to help, in Spanish because I guess she thought we wouldn't understand the trash she was saying. Otherwise, she ignored us, until we were finally getting in our cars to leave. Then, she walked over and just kept repeating again and again and again and again and again, in the FAKEST sweet voice possible, "Thank you." "Have a nice day." "Please come again." In my opinion, her deliberately putting on a show of acting super friendly and upbeat, as she waved us off, was unbelievably petty, and really solidifies how this business seems to have absolutely no problem with screwing over their customers and smiling about it. :( read more

The old adage "You get what you pay for" is the perfect one for Mountain View Car Wash. About 3 months ago, my car was looking a little shabby inside. My daughter had spilled her melted ice cream in the back seat, I had been using my passenger side seat as a table for late night drive-thru dinners after work and taking night classes. My car looked like a wreck. Seriously, I was disgusted to have anyone get a ride from me due to how bad it looked. I took it to a car wash by work to have my car "detailed". This car wash place assured me that all the stains (grease and ice cream) would be taken out and my car would be "like new". They only charged me $100, which I thought was a great deal. Turns out, they didn't do anything more than vacuum, shampoo, and add air fresher; those stains lived on. This brings me to Mountain View. I called ahead and the nice young woman on the phone assured me the stains would come out, as she expressed confidence in her crew. I paid twice as much as the other car wash place, but guess what? The stains are GONE! Also, my car, quite literally, looks like new (again)! I was ecstatic to see my car looking so nice again! My only complaint is that they don't have those plastic liners to put over your seats after a detail. This means I had to drive home and get my clothes all wet from the detail job. If they can fix this (and, as a fellow Yelper suggested, offer an air freshener), this place would definitely be five stars. read more

I gave them a chance and have a problem with the prices they list on the website and what they actually charge. At the bottom was my initial review. The men cleaning the vehicle do a great job. However I went to get my vehicle again like I do every week at this place and again every time they do a fantastic job. My issue here is that they will not give you change from a debit or credit card transaction. I was told my first time here that I need to use the atm machine which charged me a few dollars for me to leave their employees a tip. Ok so I did it, well this time around I paid my ticket walked over to atm and it was out of service. So I waited in line again and asked if I could get money so that o could leave a tip because the atm was down. I was told sorry to walk to the gas station. Sometimes this place does a good job, and other times not so much. They almost always try to up sell you. What really irks me is when I pay for those spray on waxes, and then as I watch my car go through the wash, that special light does not go on. But nonetheless, I keep coming back because it's in a convenient location, and I can run across the street to Mimi's Cafe! Also, they track how many times you visit, and on #12, it's free. THEY RIPPED A PART OFF MY CAR! Ok lets talk car washes, they use to be good to me back in the day and use to detail the inside spotless. Now they do a piss poor job cleaning the inside. Carpets still had dirt and cup holders still had crumbs ect.. i could have done a better job myself for cheaper. Not only that but i left with a part hanging that got ripped off my car after it went through there washer..i was inside so when i came out they had parked my car i looked over it on the drivers side then got in, noticed it was still dirty inside but thought ok at least the outsides clean its fine i guess.. because i was in a rush and drove off after i got the keys, get down the street a little ways and i hear something hitting my back passenger side window real hard and the car wash ripped the back window panel off and it was hanging on only by the weather stripping and was hitting my car. So i pulled over and removed it so it didn't fly off on the freeway. The prongs for it broke off inside the holes and now it cant be replaced because it was a permanent part of the car. they weren't even nice enough to tell me hey this came off we are sorry they just let me drive away knowing it was damaged! Update: went to go see what the manager was going to say something about the cleanliness of my car and to show him the damage he started yelling at me right away that there was no refunds and that he wasn't liable for damages after taking me to see a sign that stated so, told me the damages to my car were my own fault! and i didnt even ask him for a refund i thought he would be nice and clean it again but he didnt offer me that untill after he shouted at me and i was very calm about it till he stated really yelling then i told him just to not touch my car to clean the inside again and left.. he was a real piece of work.. read more

Service writer charges $55 for "Hand Wax" plus Full Service car wash, even though the website advertised $50 for my sized truck. I told them to take their time and walked across street to eat. When they said they were done, truck had no armor-all except tires. Top of truck still had bird droppings on it. Bed of truck still had muddy footprints and leaves. Today I took my truck in for a hand wash and wax. After asking the gentleman for a hand wash and wax, I proceeded to the cashier. While waiting for another vehicle that I had brought to finish being hand washed, I see my truck coming through the machine. I was very upset to see my truck not being hand washed and now worrying that my paint has hairline scratches from the machine and my off-road lighting is messed up. I spoke to the cashier who was extremely helpful in resolving the first problem. She told me that the gentleman I originally spoke to wanted to see what happened and I told him my request and he thought I wanted the top of thew line wash. he then offered to have it hand washed following our conversation. I go back outside to see what they're doing with my truck next. They sprayed it down with just water and put my truck in line to be dried off. I then noticed that my truck was almost finished and would not be getting the wax that I requested. I had to go back and talk to the cashier to have the manager involved. He knew my truck and was wondering why it was not being hand washed. he offered to have it waxed after being cleaned and I requested a refund, then he presented $40 of a $60 wash which now I believe I should not of even paid for the wash. I am extremely disappointed in what has happened to this car wash because I have been a loyal customer for years always bringing my vehicles in and experience great workmanship. I'm only giving 2 stars as I feel like my money was almost but not completely wasted. Paid for a hand wash (that was an up sell that I said yes to) and asked what it came with. "Same as diamond wash with all the wheel and tire dressing and a hand wash. They'll do a good job" he assured me. I asked if that includes cleaning and dressing the floor mats, "of course" he says. Needless to say, I had to walk around the truck and point out the several spots that were completely missed or somewhat neglected. Minus 1 star. Then no dressing on the bed box trim (black plastic) or the running board treads (black plastic). Minus 1 star. Or on the floor mats. Yes the floor mats that I specifically asked about. Minus 1 star. It was relatively quick, perhaps this isn't a good thing since half the truck wasn't finished. And aside from forgetting to provide the vanilla air freshener that I asked for, I guess the rest was, meh, good enough. Not a $40 wash by any stretch of the imagination, but better than I came in with. I spent the last half of the afternoon finishing the job at home with my own detail chemicals. Maybe i should just use the spray wands at the easy out across the street next time. I think that is less than $6 and if I'm doing the work at least I know it will be done right. I used to come here and get an oil change and a wash and eat at Carrow's and kill 3 birds with 1 stone, but its just not worth it now. Clearly they dont care here. Oh well. The new OWNER IS HORRIBLE!! He has no communication with his staff. I've been coming to this car wash for years I've always been satisfied and the guys has always taken care of my vehicle. Now under new management. I finally decided to get $35.00 platium. In which their system is supposed to recognize lic. Plate and know exactly what wash you have signed up for. They have not fixed the issue and normally the crew mgr. Knows my vehicle and knows my plates, he gives me an air freshener with my monthly purchase every time my vehicle comes there. Platinum states "optional air freshener " also UNLIMITED MONTHLY CAR WASH means exactly that UNLIMITED....I would come to have my vehicle washed daily, weekly or monthly in which I pay for (that too is why i took the deal) The new owner is pathetic. He doesn't communicate with his staff...and because their system isnt set up to recognize monthly players it became a hassle. The owner was rude, disrespectful and argumentative because he tried to tell me...i can only come through once a day, I have to pay EXTRA ($2.00) for a air freshener and I paid for an Express wash. This owner has just lost a loyal customer who referred other customers....all over not managing his store properly and if he talks to a customer like this I can only imagine how he talks to his staff. I went in on May 11 and paid for a gold car wash. When I came out of the lobby after paying the tab, I saw my car come out of the wash with the drivers side mirror dangling by the power chord. The attendant that drove the car from the wash to the vacuums never said anything to anyone, just went about his business. I went and got a manager who in turn got another manager. They both looked at the mirror for about 5 minutes as if it would just repair itself. I finally asked what the plan was . "Glue it back on" was the solution they had. That was not acceptable. I was then told that the plastic where the mirror attached to the car was bad. I was also told that this has never happened before. All sad excuses and attempts to blame me or my car for going through the car wash. I filled out a sad excuse for a report form that was provided and was told I would be contacted. As of today, May 18, I had no contact back from the business. I just called a few minutes ago and asked for the owner or manager. I was put through to Sam, who said he was a manager but did not handle these kind of things. Now is the best part. I come to Yelp and see that Sam responded to other complaints on Yelp, and his title, OWNER. This is a deceitful business. The thing that they fail to realize is taking care of this like they should have would have been much cheaper than dealing with an attorney. I really wish I would've looked up the reviews before listening to someone and coming here without thinking. I'm a young female and as cliche as it sounds I've never had a car wash without my dad being there or him taking it without me. I looked confused and kept asking questions. The man who looked to be in charge kept pushing sales on me. I was looking to get my seats cleaned because I had a huge stain. He offered to clean the seats and I agreed. Then he offered to clean the carpets and I forgot what else. The price went from 80 to 110. I tried negotiating the price to 100 and he said no. I agreed to paying 110. I had NO idea how long the car wash was going to take. After an hour, I asked how much longer and I was told an hour and a half or 2 hours longer. This upset me so I went to talk to the cashier. She called in the man who was washing my car and he let me know he would take that long because he wanted to do a good job. Which I completely understood. That's when the first man I talked to walked in and I told him he didn't tell me it would take that long, if I knew I wouldn't have gotten a shampoo. All he said "yeah it takes a while" no apologies, no accommodations -- NOTHING. The only thing I was told was that they'd finish in 40 minutes. I told them not to rush it because I want them to do a GOOD JOB and the man reassured me they would but that they would hurry. On top of that, there was a car that got there AFTER me and they parked it in front of mine and began detailing it while leaving my car unattended with all the doors open for about 20-30. After waiting about another hour and after paying over $100 my car still has so many spots. I was told they cleaned paint that was on my car that wasn't mine??? What paint??? My car hasn't been hit or scraped. There was a huge smudge that wasn't there before I brought my car in. Honestly, I've paid $20 and my car has looked so much better than this. Took my Rav 4 to be detailed and washed. When the car was done they didn't even touch the back of the Rav 4. They only did the front seats and the middle seats but left the entire back undone. They didn't so much as vacuum or touch the back. Be sure to check on the work they do. They half-assed the work done on my car and will probably half-ass other cars in the future.
