I have done Pilates/Gyrotonic/Gyrokinesis with Alexis. I found Alexis during Covid and she was happy to teach me Gyrokinesis lessons via Zoom even though I was the only one to come to her class. (Gyrokinesis uses rhythmic, flowing and circular movements.) I love Alexis! She is so positive and if you can't get a move the first time, she'll break it down and help you be successful. Her lessons during Covid cheered me up and helped my body feel better. Now I take in-person Gyrotonic personal training sessions (like Gyrokinesis but on a machine). These sessions have helped my back. and Alexis is one of the best trainers/instructors I've ever worked with. read more

Therapy session was good. If you have no worries about cost, but if you are worried about how much you're going to pay, I would caution to not try PT - out of network here. I am disappointed with the lack of clarity and communication about billing. During the intake process, I was assured that the facility would handle billing directly with my insurance and secure pre-approval. I was also informed that I would likely only need to pay my deductible. However, there seemed to be significant pressure to schedule an appointment without addressing the billing in detail. Even after claims were not submitted correctly, I continued to receive follow-up calls encouraging me to schedule appointments, with the understanding that the facility was still working on my insurance coverage. To my surprise, my insurance covered a much smaller amount than usual for out-of-network sessions, especially given that I have previously had a different experience with out-of-network physical therapy providers. Additionally, my insurance showed that the provider had agreed to collect a specific dollar amount per visit, but I was still billed the full amount. I gave PhysioFit the opportunity to resolve this issue. My issue was left unresolved and dissatisfied. I was only requesting a refund for the amount that was agreed upon through the insurance claim. read more

I had a large clogged duct that was lasting days and i was afraid it would progress to mastitis. After a visit with my OB, she referred me to here for them to help clear it. I was nervous that it would be painful but It actually felt relaxing and calming given all the stress I've been having about it. They started with a lymphatic massage, then the ultrasound wand, and manual expression. Sydney the PT did an amazing job and educated me what to do at home. After less than 24 hours my duct has mostly cleared! I'm so glad this service exists cause I'd be lost without a solution. read more

I love this place. I started seeing Janet a few years ago for jaw and neck issues, referred by my dentist. More recently I went again for back issues and have referred several people here. The staff is also helpful and nice. I'm only giving 4 stars instead of 5 because I'm going on Medicare soon and will no longer be able to come because they don't take Medicare anymore and I can't afford $340/session. read more

Talk to ob and get checked first before getting the treatment here to unblock the clogged milk duct. Two things I wasn't satisfied with the service 1. The scheduler asked me not to feed or pump 1h before the session, which turned out to be the wrong message delivered. 2. The PT who gave me the massage made me in deep pain, and I got a fever afterwards. There are things that I should take responsible for so I didn't give a lower rating. Specifically, they told me ultrasound can't be used when there is an infection going on. I wasn't sure at that time whether I have an infection so I let the PT take the evaluation and she decided it's okay to give me the ultrasound. I told her I've been taken advil and that might mask the fever. Another thing is when I felt great pain, I should stop the PT, which I didn't. I know people coming to this place actually got their problem solved, so my suggestion is talk to your ob first then decide whether you come here or not. read more

This review is for the outstanding service provided by Janet Perrino. I was assigned to Janet for therapy following my shoulder replacement surgery in mid November of 2022. How lucky I was to have been under Janet's direction!. I found her to be extremely knowledgeable of the surgery and its aftercare, including the physical therapy. Janet is extremely professional and as mentioned, very, very knowledgeable. At each session, she asked of the ups and downs I experienced since our last session and provided information of the why something may have happened and she was always right. I really trusted her. Her techniques are traditional and she deployed them so well as we moved to the right with my recovery. She was upbeat and sensitive to my situation as all of this was quite emotional to me. I found her encouraging and a real coach. My in-person PT, which span about four months, is over now and thanks to Janet, I've had enough training and guidance that I'll be able to successfully continue the treatment at home. I can not thank Janet enough for all she did for me. I will truly miss our Thursday sessions. I used to say, "if it's Thursday, it's a Janet day!" I found PhysioFit through my friend who also had clogged milk ducts. I was having a persistent clog that wouldn't resolve and needed to unclog it. I'm in healthcare myself and I've never heard of therapeutic ultrasound that delivers heat to break down the clog. I've only heard of diagnostic ultrasounds. Katrina who is the physical therapist I saw explained that it's not new technology but usually used in PT to help with sore tissues and muscles. Katrina used the therapeutic ultrasound and massaging technique to get both of my clogs out! I felt relief immediately! The session was an hour and I was afraid I'll be uncomfortable while she worked on the clog, but Katrina was full of energy and chatted with me the whole time! The sessions are pricey ($290/session) but they were upfront on the cost and did try to bill my insurance. But since I have HMO insurance it was considered out of network and did not cover the session. However they do take FSA card and sometimes offer promos! In the end, super glad this place offers this type of service for lactating mothers. read more

I see Alison Fong at Physiofit and she is fantastic--incredibly knowledgeable and talented. The front desk folks are also friendly and helpful. So why the two star review? I have never been to a health-related place that was more money-first. Sessions there are very expensive, but more importantly, their pricing is undisclosed. Unless things have changed, you will see that no prices are listed on the website. When I first called, I was told one price and I didn't think I would go, but my pain had been so consistent and resistant to the interventions I had been getting that I decided to call again. The second time, I was told that I would get a discount because I have Kaiser. I bought a 8=session package because I was told it would be cheaper than sessions paid for individually. When that package was up, I purchased an 11-session package, thinking I would be paying less than the $220 per session for 8. Much to my surprise, I was actually charged $250 per session. When I communicated my shock, I was told that I had received the December discount the first time, although that was not communicated to me at the time. Tracy generously offered to extend the discount since I had not been informed that that price was going to expire. But why did I have to do detective work to discover the price? Why isn't the pricing structure clearly laid out on the website? Finally, I am writing this review now because I had to cancel my appointment as the result of juror selection and happened to notice that clients will be charged $45 for cancelling 24 hours in advance. Luckily I had called earlier in the week to explain that this might happen, but in all of the time I've been seeing body workers, I have never seen anyone charge a client for providing a full 24-hours notice. I know Los Altos is expensive, but the prices and policies at Physiofit make me feel the business itself is more concerned about making a profit than making sure people with even somewhat limited means can access their services, and I find that really sad. read more

I began pt sessions in late June of this year for tendinitis in my tibia. I was experiencing excruciating pain in my lower right knee and thought I would need surgery for fear that I injured it working out. I was referred to Anastasiia for my specific injury and am so happy I chose to come here over any other PT. We've been working together for 12 sessions now. My pain is completely gone thanks to her guidance and work she has done with me. She is a great motivator and very knowledgeable in her work! I would recommend her to anyone! I went to Physiofit for a chronic foot problem (plantar fasciitis and tibial tendon dysfunction) which keeps me from doing the things that I love. I feel fortunate to have worked with P.T. Katrina Wong. After six weeks and six sessions and religiously doing my exercises at home, I see some improvement. Katrina is just professional in every way and so knowledgeable. I am a new mom and recently experienced extremely painful clogged milk ducts after the birth of my son. My boyfriend did a Google Search and found PhysioFit. I live in San Francisco and this was the closest (and only) place to get this sort of physical therapy done. PhysioFit was amazing and fit me in immediately into their busy schedule as they consider clogged milk ducts an emergency treatment. A woman named Alison saw me and did the ultrasound/massage treatment to help me out. My case was severe, so after my appointment, Alison told me to stay in the room and that she'd come back after her next appointment. She worked on my ducts more. Thanks to the time and care she put into my treatment, I was CURED the next day. She also showed me how to do self-massage at home in case this issue came up again. The office called me a few times to check up on me and to make sure I was cured. I felt extremely cared for! I did not have the billing issues that some of the other reviewers encountered. I paid out of pocket and was mostly reimbursed by insurance within a few weeks. This place was amazing. If you have clogged milk ducts, don't think about it--just GO. read more

I worked with Alison Fong and she is an excellent therapist. She is very detail oriented and has very gentle manual therapy skills. She explains things very well. She has a keep eye for muscle engagement and correct form while on the reformer so no matter how weak you are you can work with her without injuring yourself. I found Physiofit through my lactation consultant at Los Gatos El Camino, who recommended Physiofit for clogged milk ducts. I got introduced to Katrina, at Physiofit who is by far the best physical therapist I've met. She was able to get rid of the milk ducts in no time, and also taught me and my husband to try it out at home. 7 months into my postpartum (due to complications in my pregnancy, I was advised to be on bedrest for the last 5 months of my pregnancy) , I suddenly developed plantar fasciitis and I couldn't take a single step. I also had issues with my pelvic floor, which became a lot weaker as I started resuming my normal activities. I went back to Katrina, and she did wonders within a couple of months. She was very knowledgeable, and she amazingly handled both the issues simultaneously. She always listened to me, and offered modifications if I found something difficult. This made a huge difference in my recovery. She provided simple exercises that I could do at home, and I was super happy to see the results very quickly. The best thing about the whole experience was that I actually enjoyed going to the sessions, and looked forward to them. Katrina didn't make me feel weak, or disabled. Instead she brought up interesting conversations, and encouraged me to get to the finish line! 10 minutes with my orthopedist for "diagnosis"; 1 and a half hours with Janet, my PT at Physiofit for "diagnosis confirmation"... turns out - the orthopedist was likely not correct. But how could he have been sure having only spent 10 minutes with me? Well of course, because he makes a few hundred thousand dollars a year! :-| I have been SO impressed with (specifically) Janet at Physiofit whom I have been seeing for some shoulder pain for a couple of months now. I went in with a diagnosis of "rotator cuff tearing" which yes I did have (so said an MRI) but after doing some extensive strength and mobility tests on me, Janet is quite certain my pain isn't from rotator cuff tearing since my rotator cuff is very strong, has full mobility and THE PAIN IS NOT NEAR MY ROTATOR CUFF. Thanks Ortho 'Doc... While my pain is very stubbornly only slightly better, I feel quite strongly that Janet's suggestions are way more "on" than my orthopedist's. It just makes much more logical sense. There is such a blatant difference in coming here to see highly knowledgeable physical therapists versus visiting my "prestigious" orthopedist. It truly feels like they care about you. And I can actually hear the frustration and disappointment in Janet's voice that my improvement is slower than she'd like. Physiofit also offers massage therapy, Pilates & Yoga classes and personal training in addition to their physical therapy. The office is clean and bright. All 3 PT's have varying levels of Pilates Training which they apply in their treatment programs. The receptionists are very friendly and (as Karen H mentioned ) DO seem to remember your name! Either that or do some very quick stealth appointment-book checks just before you walk in! They have private rooms, a small gym in back, a Pilates equipment room in front and a nice, clean, large bathroom for changing. I would recommend Physiofit to anyone needing PT. I came to here to treat my exercise inflicted back pain & I was very impressed. The facility is clean & welcoming. The front desk staff & the tech Keya took really good care of me. She is very professional and knowledgeable & after just two visits my pain is gone! She emailed me some home exercises to do at home and it really helped. My OB-Gyn referred me to this physical therapy office due to my pregnancy-induced sciatic nerve pain. This is a very nice office. When you walk in, the front desk girls are very polite and remember your name. My therapist, Theresa, was great. She did a full exam, asked me a lot of questions about my discomfort. The office has private rooms and in the back, they have their mini-gym complete with an exercise bike, yoga balls, rubber bands, mats, etc. They also offer yoga classes! While I'm not a patient at their Physical Therapy Clinic, I do participate in the TRX classes held during the week. Our instructor Christi is great at keeping us motivated and energized throughout the class. The space is small and limited to about 6 people. TRX is a great way to improve core strength and I have definitely seen results; it's amazing how our bodies respond to exercise. While I haven't taken any other classes there I do know they offer Pilates and have some great instructors! read more

1. Like the other reviewers, their billing practice is shady. They charged upfront for you to get a therapy, and then when they are reimbursed by the insurance, you will get reimbursed. I had to pay out of pocket for $240 per session, and when the insurance claim needs information from them to process, I called multiple times, they told me they sent the information. My insurance said they never get the information. So I really don't know who is lying, but i'm the one who is already broke paying $240 per session of therapy. They care less to solve the claim with the insurance, since they already get paid. 2. They never told me that one of the therapist is not a license therapist and only a therapy assistant, but they billed me as if i'm having therapy with a license therapist. 3. to get appointment you need to wait like 6 - 8 weeks. If you're injured, how can you wait for 6 - 8 weeks. And on top of that, they never told me that i'm only getting a therapy assistant. I will avoid this place and will not recommend it no matter how qualified and good their physical therapist, because their business practice is not transparent and no integrity. read more

I came here for plugged ducts. I was in so much pain and so frustrated, and they squeezed me in that same day. It took 3 sessions over the course of a week, but if it weren't for them, I don't know how I would have resolved it! I had dealt with plugged ducts for over 2 months before I finally saw them, and I wish I would have gone sooner! Not only did they "fix" me, but they taught me the techniques so I could "fix" myself and/or prevent future plugs from occurring. I am SO grateful to Kim and Samantha! Be very careful if you decide to come here!!! My family doctor recommended this place to me, therefore I totally trust them. Before my first therapy, they said they'd checked with my insurance company and I only need to pay co-pay $30 per visit. I do love my therapist, Janet, and that's why I kept going there for 5 months. Then one day I got the HUGE bill from them and was told they are not the network provider and I need to pay $105 per visit. Really feel frustrated and unfair. Why at the very beginning they got the wrong information and why it takes them so long (5 months) to find out they are not the network provider??? Really truly not acceptable practice!!! The saddest thing is that I recommend this place to several of my friends and one of them got the same trouble with them too. Really feel sorry to my friend. UNDISCLOSED CHARGES, POOR QUALITY, HOSTILE TO KIDS Kim explained that the cost of the first session to us was only going to be $12 (10% of the $120 for therapeutic exercise, rest paid by insurance). The session lasted barely 40 minutes. Kim was impatient with our toddler and not fully forthcoming in sharing all the information about the condition, trying to keep us on the hook for repeat visits and hence more $$$. The nastier surprise was when we received THE BILL. In addition to $120 charges for 40 min session, there was a $100 charge for "Initial Evaluation" which was NEVER DISCLOSED UPFRONT. The financial agreement form we signed does not even mention anything related to initial evaluation or the variable cost thereof. In addition, the $12 already paid was applied to this surprise charge, and not to the therapeutic exercise charges we were told about. When we contacted Kim to dispute the $100 charge, she presented the excuse that the exact charges are not known upfront because the evaluation is on a case by case basis, and therefore she did not disclose even the EXISTENCE of such a charge. Even if a charge is variable, an ethical business would disclose the fact that there is this additional charge. Imagine a car mechanic springing a $100 surpirse for "initial evaluation" when you go to pick up the car from their shop. And just because the insurance company is used to this charge does not mean the customer is automatically aware of it. Kim was evasive at first and then dismissive, about our disputing this charge. In summary, we were billed TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY dollars for forty minutes of annoyed attitude and fairly slim therapy. Naturally, the first visit was the last one too. Avoid this place. If you can't, atleast insist that all charges, known or unknown, fixed-rate or variable, be disclosed UPFRONT and IN WRITING. ****** Update 7/27/2009 ***** Kim's comment below again evades the real problem: undisclosed cost items, AKA surprise after-the-fact charges. Specifically, the "initial evaluation" charges that are nowhere to be found on the financial agreement form, nor mentioned even verbally. Nobody said anything about deductibles; the origninal review above mentions disputing ONLY the $100 undisclosed item, and that the $12 already paid was applied to this item, instead of the cost that _was_ disclosed. Physiofit should address the undisclosed charges issue, instead of continuing to evade and misdirect attention. read more

If you need physical therapy, this is the place to go! Calm, quiet, clean with privacy every time. Kim has actually taken me from having extreme pain in my lower right back to having none. Yes, it's chronic pain & will return at some point. But to walk in in extreme pain and then out with it gone was wonderful. My physical therapy is carefully and personally selected and supervised by a single qualified physical therapist. No handing me off to a technician for part of the session & then seeing the therapist for only a few minutes. These folks are professional, kind and well trained. They know what they are doing. Overall, after going to one PT mill, and coming here, I stayed. I've been coming here for over 2 1/2 years for post surgical treatment and ongoing chronic pain therapy. I wouldn't go anywhere else. PhysioFIT has a Friendly, professional environment and is well located. Everyone is nice. The facilities are clean, clean, clean. There are a great variety of equipment available. Kim REALLY knows what to do to lessen my pain. I couldn't ask for more! PhysioFIT also provides innumerable other classes and services. I decided to choose the doctors choice of therapy location!!! what can I say they Have the Best staff. They are well trained. PhD and Masters in the field of Kinesiology. The have magical hands!!! Came here a couple times for Physical Therapy ONLY for different injuries and was discharged feeling good both times. My PT and techs were very friendly and knowledgable. I like that they have Pilates reformer machines on site to use for the exercises and I'm sure Physiofit is wonderful for those other activities (Pilates, yoga, TRX). It actually seems they get more business for fitness than PT. My only qualm is that I wish they were open just a TAD bit earlier to accommodate work schedules and help those who have to drive anywhere during rush hour. read more

Physiofit is excellent! They helped me recover from a broken femur in 2004. Now I am recovering from a total hip replacement. Kim and Janet are creative problem solvers.
