They kept the car for an entire day, and did not charge us because it magically started running again and they could not duplicate the problem. (Stupid car.) To be honest...possibly the worst service I've ever had with a mechanic. I won't be going back. I sat in the waiting room for 9 hours (with a previously scheduled appointment by the way) only for them to tell me the issue was identified as a faulty starter. After they fixed this and charged me almost $1,200, they proceeded to tell me my car still wouldn't start. My car then sat in their garage for multiple days. I had to constantly follow up with them, only for them to tell me they couldn't help me by day #3. I rolled my car out of their shop with a $1,200 charge and a broken car. Thank god I contacted a smaller, local mechanic who was generous enough to come to my house, fix all of my wiring and replace damaged parts for HALF of the price of Mountain View Tire. He was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. All in all, I will not be coming back and would not recommend coming here for anything, including oil changes. Please call your local shop and give them your money, which will be about half of what you'd spend at this place by the way. read more

The bro with the Pittsburg Pirates cap seems like he could care less about the customers. A definite downgrade from who the original guys were. I first brought my car in for them to inspect my brakes, they told me 30 minutes so I call my wife telling her to go run her errands, I'll just wait. Then the Mr. Pirate Cap comes in tells me the guy went to lunch and it will be about 2 hours. So there goes my ride with my wife and now I got to Uber back. He didn't care. Then he misquoted a service he said was going to cost $300. I went back there to get the service done but he didn't tell me about the labor cost. I thought that $300 was both parts and labor. He said no. Didn't care. I took it American Tire Depot. Even though they charged me $100 over what Mountain View quoted, I still used them. read more

I've been a loyal customer of Mountain View Tires in Fontana for years and have always spoken highly of their service and reasonable pricing. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was extremely disappointing and has completely changed my view of this location. On Friday 1/23/26, I brought in my mom's car because it was struggling to accelerate past 60 mph, making a loud noise, and the check engine light was on. I was helped by the manager, Mike. A diagnostic test was performed, and I was told the car had two codes (P0101 and P301), with cylinder #1 being the issue. I was advised to replace the coil and do a BG fuel and air induction service. The total came out to $1,228, which I agreed to, trusting their expertise. Later that day, I was told the car was ready. My mom drove it home (about 5 minutes away) and noticed it was slightly better but still felt off. The next day, when she was about to drive to Orange County, the car started doing the exact same thing it was doing before we took it in. We brought it back Saturday morning and again spoke with Mike. I was understandably upset and asked how the car could still have the same issue after paying over $1,200 the day before. He stated they fixed the issues shown on the diagnostic and claimed the car was test driven and the issue was resolved. When I asked for an itemized receipt--which I had not received the day before--his response was, "I'm sure we provided you a copy yesterday." That response only made the situation worse. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of the inconvenience, and no accountability. As a woman, I genuinely felt taken advantage of. I trusted them as professionals, believing they had thoroughly checked my mom's car. Looking back, I now question whether the work they claimed was necessary at all since it did not resolve the problem. Had they truly test driven the vehicle, any experienced mechanic would have noticed it was still not running properly. Only after I insisted they test drive it again did they say they "finally" identified the real issue--something they claimed could not be detected through diagnostic testing, which is hard to believe given today's technology. We were then told it was the catalytic converter and quoted an additional $2,800, which is absolutely ridiculous. We left immediately. I am now in the process of getting a second opinion and confirming whether the work I already paid for was even done. In the past, when Sam was the manager, my experiences were always positive, and I never felt profiled or dismissed. This visit was the complete opposite--unprofessional, dismissive, and careless. Came today to get another oil change since I was due. I was told I have a leak which may be true , I'm having my father take a look at it further but I find it odd how I took out $90 cash and it was in my wallet I forgot in the glove compartment ( I know 100% my fault) I just find it convenient how I was also told by Oscar that my air filters dirty and the cost to change it is $90 , the exact amount of cash I had . This place used to be great, but isn't any more. My truck had a hole in the tread in one of the tires & they said they couldn't patch it. I bought new tires, and two of my old ones still had quite a bit of life left. I asked them to put them in the bed of my truck so I could try to sell them. They "forgot", and by the time I got all the way home I didn't have time to go back to get them. They told me they reset my TPMS. They didn't. Had to return to the shop. They only installed 5 of 6 lug nuts on my rear, passenger side wheel. When I went to see if they could give me lug nut if they had a spare, Kevin the manager just shined me on. They do crappy work, and will make no effort at all to make right when they do wrong. I will never go to this shop on Baseline ever again. read more

Deceptive Practices & Terrible Service! I purchased a Synthetic Blend Oil Change on Groupon, but when I arrived, they refused to honor it, claiming my car required Full Synthetic Oil and charging me an extra $40. Fine, I paid. But here's the scam--when I checked my receipt, they actually gave me High Mileage Synthetic Blend, not Full Synthetic as they insisted! So if my car CAN use Synthetic Blend, why did they force me to pay extra? On top of that, I had a scheduled appointment, yet when I arrived, they told me the wait would be 4-5 hours! IT WAS ACTUALLY 6 HOURS IN THE END. What's the point of making an appointment? I had no choice but to take a rideshare back home, wasting even more money and time. To make matters worse, the staff lied, twisted facts, and even yelled at me, falsely claiming their shop never accepts Groupon and only served me because I went back multiple times (wtf??? I went back a second time only because the first time they said they are too busy and ask me to go back with appt). I was humiliated and gaslit by their hostility, all for trying to use a service they advertised. In the end, I paid full price, wasted hours of my time, spent extra money on rides, and left feeling completely ripped off. DO NOT TRUST THIS SHOP! read more

Unfortunately, we gave both the baseline and highland locations in Fontana a second chance and were disappointed each time. Should not have gone back after the first incident and definitely will not be going back after the third. Went into the highland/sierra location in Fontana right at opening and was told it would only take about an hour-2 hours fit an oil change on a 2018 Ford F150. After 2.5 hours, I walked into the lobby asking what the progress was. I could see my truck sitting in the same parking spot since I dropped it off almost 3 hours prior. They hadn't even brought not even started to work on it even though 3 bays were empty when I arrived. They apologized and immediately worked on my truck, took 30 minutes. Roughly two days later, I am leaving for work and the battery is not working. I am unable to unlock the truck with the keys or even show lights once doors open. the truck would not start. Upon investigation, both positive and negative terminals were loose resulting in me loosing a day of work due to not having auxiliary power to my truck. The positive lead was off the battery entirely. Now we are at the next time I bring my truck in, only this time we decided to go to the Baseline location in Fontana hoping to avoid the same issue. My husband consistently takes his work truck in for service at this location. Once again, lazy and incomplete work on my truck was done. After the oil change, they did not put the oil cap back on. my whole driveway has very large oil stains and oil residue all over the engine and underneath the truck. The oil cap was left inside but was not placed back on. There are pictures to show. We got an oil change prior to a long commute to Fallbrook and back. During that whole drive, the same day as the oil change that was done, there was no oil cap on and was just spewing oil through the whole truck. We took the truck back Mountain view after placing the oil cap in the appropriate place and the first thing the mechanic said upon inspection was "the oil cap is right there". yes that is correct we did not continue to drive with out the oil cap on. glad we have pictures to proof it even though the amount of oil residue should be proof enough. Management took care of it and cleaned all the oil out and replaced the oil as well. No refund was offered only "my bad" Mistakes happen but when they are this consistent it is not okay. We will not be returning. might as well and go to Valvoline, never had an issue there and they have my oil change done in 15 minutes not 3 hours. read more

When I talk about a life saver LET ME TELL YOU. Long story short I didn't put my tires on properly after servicing my own brakes. Commuting up to the high desert in the pouring rain I felt my front end shaking. So I had to stop somewhere fast! With a convenient location I was able to stop at Mountain View Tire & Auto. They had customers so I was expecting to wait a while because I was just going to ask to use their torque wrench. The nice gentleman named Martin at the front desk said they'd be able to help. They got me in and out super quick and very helpful! Less than 15 minutes Gilbert and Mike got my car jacked up and tires balanced properly so I was safe to drive. I walked in to have my oil changed and received a quote of $110. This price really upset me because my father had his oil changed at this same location just days prior for only $60. Mind you, my father's truck takes more oil than my vehicle. The man was able to "work the price" down to $74. But I refused service, because clearly they assumed, me being a female... I should pay more for my mechanical needs. My dad's vehicle takes 2 more quarts of oil than mine, is only 1 year newer than mine, has more miles than mine... his is Ford, mine is Jeep. Not to mention, you need to take his skid plate off to change his oil, which requires more labor. We use the same oil in both of our vehicles. Clearly, specifications on the vehicles should still price mine in the same price point, if not lower. I also went to the shop within the same sale week. Brought my car here for a diagnostic because it was having some trouble starting. They told me nothing was wrong with my battery (or starter), but I ended up getting a bunch of other services for the hell of it (alignment, new tires, oil change) and dropping hundreds here. Left with the same issue I came in with and they had zero answers for me. Here I am now learning it was in fact the battery all along and the car starts right up after replacing it. Not sure how an auto shop can't accurately detect something as simple as a bad battery... is this not basic mechanic work? They also told us they would order a horn replacement for my car and call us when it came in...never called. All around just didn't seem reliable and I won't be taking any cars back there. read more

The day before we came in I heard my car hit something but my air pressure was fine so I didn't think anything much of it. The next day as my son and I were on the freeway my air pressure all of a sudden went going down until it hit 0 out of nowhere. Thankfully we were able to safely go to the nearest exit and found this nearest auto shop and I'm glad we did because Ulises Ochoa took care of us walk-ins right away and showed everything wrong with my tires not just the damaged one. We also got a good price! And were taken care of with such a decent amount of time and we were able to do our errands still that day. Will definitely come back for when I change my other tires! Took my truck for service before a road trip mid way through my trip my alignment gave out and my steering wheel was positioned to the left for it to go straight. Brought it back so they can fix it or look at it after several attempts they called me back to tell me they couldn't fix it and since my car was fairly new the dealer will cover it under warranty . In fact the dealer didn't cover it I had to pay for it to be re aligned and I never received my refund for the alignment I paid here. Total cost of my time and "service" was $300 read more

I went in for service- oil change and tire rotation- everyone was super friendly. I was told that I needed new tires because mine were so bald in some places. I was not just told that to be upsold, the technician brought me over to show his concern and showed where the tires were very bald (I was embarrassed that I didn't notice) and he explained the dangers and my options. I was upset because I wasn't prepared to spend money on new tires, and couldn't afford it at the time. The manager, Oscar came over to talk to me and spent extra time with me working out a solution and getting me the best deal possible. I left feeling much better and much safer with new tires. My mechanic friend helped me research the deal I got, and we're confident I couldn't have gotten a deal like that anywhere else, and I appreciate the caring customer service I got. Beware! Do NOT do business with them! The took advantage of the fact that I have little to no knowledge about car issues. So i visit them to see what was wrong with my front brake pad which was making a grinding noise. I was informed I needed ALL my pads and rotors replaced completely. The guy initially gave me a quote about around $1,300 but said he could give me a "deal" and lower it to $1,000 even (plus tax which made it around $1,090). Now I'm probably the idiot for agreeing without asking the break down and itemized bill. I agreed assuming I would probably get charged even more at the dealership. After the fact, I see the pads themselves cost a total $310.00! Now I looked all over the internet (autozone, O'Reilly and others) to discover the most expensive pads are only about $50-$60! Now the left the part numbers used on the billing statement and I was shocked to discover they are a brand called Raybestos which range anywhere from $30-$40! So they definitely price gouged me (which I believe is illegal) the rotors the same! The charged me a total of $240 for all the rotors. Same thing.. I found that rotors are about $60-$80! They also charged me $80 3 times for "labor" like WTH! I called their customer service at 800-876-6676 but they do not answer. At this point all I can do is warn everyone to NOT come here! The worst part is that I called the dealership out of curiosity to see how much this same work would have been.. they quoted me in the range of $600! Mind you they would have given me authentic Toyota parts instead of the cheap priced gouged crap they put on my car! Never again. I'm telling everyone I know to not come here AND I'm filing a complaint with the better business bureau. I will also be filing a filing a complaint with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. One more thing.. I had an appointment at 2:30pm on a TUESDAY and ended up leaving at 5:40pm! More than 3 hours. What got me angry is some guy that got there an hour AFTER me got his service done and completely and left about an hour before I left. Brought in Mercedes ML350. I wanted Synthetic oil. I asked if they used Mobile 1. Mgr said they use Valoline or Havoline. Still not sure because invoice says Valvoline. Rep said they have not updated their system. When I asked why not Mobile 1 which is recommended for the vehicle, the Mgr. said "oil is oil". I was charged about $140 out the door. I wasn't going to leave a review for the Mountain View Tires on Baseline in Fontana, but since their automated text system keeps bugging for a review, here you go. After more than 10 years of bringing multiple vehicles here for various services, my last few experiences with this location have been horrible. From lack of communication and poor customer service backed by grumpy front desk employees, to careless work and extremely long wait times for simple services I will no longer bring my vehicles to this location. My last service with them was for an oil change on my truck. I went online and scheduled an appointment for a Saturday. This process doesn't actually seem to mean anything, as it's just you scheduling a time window to drop off your vehicle (7:30am-11:00am). I dropped my vehicle off at 7:30 am, as soon as they opened. I know even an oil change with them typically takes a couple hours, but after not hearing anything by 11am I called. First time I called, I was immediately put on hold, and after eight minutes of waiting I hung up. A half hour later I called again and nobody answered. The third time I called I was finally was able to connect with someone and asked the status of my truck. They put me on hold again, and then when the employee returned, he said they were just now rolling my truck onto the lift. What a coincidence that after four hours of nothing, when I finally got a hold of someone, my truck was suddenly moving onto the lift! When I go there just after 12, it was still another half hour before my truck was done. Five hours to get an oil change. Time before that I had to take my truck back twice after getting an oil change because the filter kept leaking. I don't remember exactly what the issues were but I think they were simple things like not cleaning the filter mount surface thoroughly and not tightening the filter properly or something. This was also a time when dropping off my vehicle, the employee behind the desk had a poor attitude and was scrambling so fast that that it just made for a miserable experience. Previously over the years I had been happy with the prices, employees and work that was performed, but something changed. During lunch one Saturday I ran into some Mountain View Tire techs from another location and brought up my recent issues with the Baseline location, and they confirmed that things had changed and this location was not on par with what it used to be. An oil change used to cost me about $60-$70. I just paid more than $100, and I had their coupon for $75. For years I was happy with supporting this place, as it was a local business and I didn't mind spending money on a service I could perform myself. But I won't be doing that anymore. I'll find a small business to support instead. read more

Oscar is amazing! I came in with my Toyota Camry to get an oil change and I was told that my tires needed to be replaced. They were able to show me the tires and I agreed to get the work done. All his employees look very happy to work for Oscar. Shop is clean and the restroom was clean as well. Very fast and friendly service! 10/10!!! read more
