This place on Bellflower used to be decent. Different customer service staff. I previously dealt with a young guy who was friendly. Came in today to get 1 tire changed and the manager was some middle aged guy with a bad attitude like he hates the world. Outright hostile and rude to customers. I dropped my car off at 12:25, I guess it was around 12:40 when he actually checked me in (I would come to learn this later). He told me it would be about 2 hours. I said okay that's fine, walked around for an hour and came back to wait in the lobby. I asked how the car was doing assuming it would at least be up on the lift by that time and he snapped "It hasn't been 2 hours I said AT LEAST 2 hours." I said yeah thats fine i was just curious if they'd started on it. Then again, an hour later he walked into the lobby and I asked how it was going. He sarcastically replied "I'm doing fine." Then I said I was asking about the car and again he got upset, raised his voice and said "I said it would be AT LEAST 2 hours until they started on it. I only have the one mechanic here." I get only having one mechanic but there was only one person ahead of me and he acted like it was unreasonable for me to ask about the car again. It had been almost 2 hours at that point, which he countered with "No I checked you in at 12:42." Okay-- so it was an hour and 40 minutes not the full 2. Then he said "You're asking me about the car every 30 minutes." I had only asked about it 1 other time which was an hour before. Idk what this guy's problem is but he's really rude and I told him as much. Adding on technicalities and context to say that he didn't mean "2 hours" but "AT LEAST 2 hours" and not to finish but to even start the work. I wasn't even making a big deal about it I was just checking in. There was literally no one else in the lobby besides me. I didn't snap back until he started raising his voice at which point I felt he was just being disrespectful. Idk what to say other than it was a really unpleasant experience and I wont be going back as long as he's there. I didn't get his name but my guess is he's the manager. Prices are fine. About the same as anywhere else. Save yourself the trouble and go to a nicer shop. read more

Unprofessional, dismissive, and hostile toward older vehicles This was one of the most disrespectful experiences I've had at a shop. I called ahead and spoke with Gerardo, the manager, and was told it was okay to come in. I showed up in good faith, only to be turned away in person. Suddenly the story changed to "the guys are leaving early," and the entire tone shifted the moment they saw my truck was older. From the second I pulled in, the looks and body language said it all eye rolls, faces, and an obvious attitude like "why is this guy even here?" It was very clear they do not want to deal with older vehicles or anything that requires actual knowledge beyond easy, modern, plug-and-play jobs. Then Gerardo tells me it's $150 just for them to look at it, said in a way that felt more like a deterrent than a policy. The money is NOT the issue the issue is being told it's okay to come in, then being treated like an inconvenience because I didn't teleport there instantly. Expecting someone with a steering issue to arrive immediately is absurd. The whole experience felt like they just wanted to go home early and didn't want to be bothered. Completely unprofessional, misleading, and dismissive. If you have a classic car, older truck, lifted vehicle, or anything that requires real diagnostic skill, do yourself a favor and do not come here. I took my car for an oil change service with the understanding they do a tire rotation and a courtesy inspection free of charge. The car has been parked for almost 1 year. Tire pressure was very low, below 27 on each tire when I took it to the shop. The TPM sensor stayed on after picking it up from the shop. I checked again at home and it was still below 27 on each tire. The printout states 33 PSI both for Tire Pressure IN and Tire Pressure OUT. When confronted with the situation they told me it's because of the weather. I told them I knew what the pressure was when I brought it in. Also, one of the wheels is missing the logo, and it was in the same spot when I took the car home. I understand these services are provided free, but wow... just say you didn't have time to do them! read more

For the second time, my undercarriage splash guard came undone from my 2018 Civic. I was already driving on the freeway when the sudden onset of scraping started, so the aluminum plate was damaged because I had to keep driving to get off the freeway and to a repair shop on Sunday morning at 6 am. According to Don at Mountain View on Bellflower, this happens all the time to Honda vehicles due to a design flaw that makes it easy for the screws to come off. I just got my oil changed the day before, but I couldn't return to that mechanic because they're closed on Sunday. Don identified the problem and raised my car to secure the partially damaged plate with zip ties. He didn't even request for any compensation for his labor, but I paid him $30 because it's the right thing to do. I didn't have an appointment, but they still helped me right away around 8 am when they opened. These guys were great. read more

This review addresses 'non-performance'. A true honest assessment. This past Saturday our car exhibited a non- performance issue. It would start, then stall out. Mountain View devoted time and effort trying to assess the issue causing my problem. In the end, they determined this issue which they were not equipped to handle properly. They explained the situation AND recommended 2 quality sources for service. Please note, despite their effort of time, no charges were levied! That is true value! I went in on Monday June 2, 2026 at 10:00 am for a screw in my tire, i was the next vehicle and there was only one vehicle they were working on at the time with three mechanics in the shop so Jose said i was next so I went across the street to the bank to get the money and went to get some food it took about 30 to 45 minutes I figured my car would be waiting for me but when I got back my car was still waiting and there were two other new cars that came in after me that three mechanics were working on they then wanted me to wait longer so I went out to the garage to see what the hold up was about and then another car, Tesla, came in I told the guy with the long beard who started working on that car my car was supposed to be next, with two mechanics on this vehicle and one on another both came in after me i had to go in the garage and tell them that my car was supposed to have been worked on before at least three vehicles came in after mine, it appeared that the tire shredded from wear as they're low profile tires and that was my fault however after making me wait for an hour and a half now for a patch job i was frustrated I vented my grievances and when I did an argument ensued, i watched the older Caucasian male mechanic rip my high pressure 90 degree valve stem out I didn't realize it at the time and didn't inspect it before I left because I was already seeing red, one day later when I put air in the tire to drive it to the tire shop around my corner two blocks away I noticed the new tire valve which was straight and short making it harder to put air in it, the valve stem that was on was new and there was no damage to the the valve stem, the three mechanics in the shop were very rude, so I did not care to have the tire replaced there and honestly I told them I couldn't trust them at this point and I took my vehicle elsewhere, I would not recommend this tire shop to my worst enemy. Jose and the manager tried and were professional with me the other three in the shop were stand-offish and rude and completely unprofessional, DONT GO HERE! ( pics r of the 90 degree high pressure valve stem that the older Caucasian male ripped off of the tire and the shorter straight valve they tried to replace it with. UNACCEPTABLE. One star is the min. Mandatory but if I could I would give this establishment -5 stars. -'s. I tried to remain professional and I am a decorated Marine Veteran and our tolerance levels are high but this was very frustrating, i do take my privacy seriously and in retrospect I don't usually like to post negative reviews and I should have read the reviews for this business beforehand, next time I will, thank you Yelp. read more

Mountain View Tires on Clark is awesome! Great staff and honest. Mountain View on Bellflower Blvd has a manager that will try and rip you off as much as possible. Stay away from that location. He is all about squeezing every nickel out of every customer by misrepresenting your tires condition and he will always upsell a simple nail in the treads to a full on new tire. Called to ask a price on a tire patch, was given a great price and made my way there. Alike many other auto shops they were all hard at work and busy, so it took some time before I was helped. No problem for me. The manager greeted me kindly and instructed me where to place my vehicle. The repair was made and to my absolute surprise he gave me the repair on the house and apologized for the wait. I thanked him dearly and made my way. I came in about two days later to get an inspection on my brakes and tires. The manager again, kindly greeted me, and walked over to my car with me and inspected the car. He gave me an general description of what looks good and what doesn't, and that his team will complete a further inspection. Once that was done, I was given the full rundown of needed services. I went forward with them, and I am extremely happy with the service I was provided. I will most definitely recommend this shop to my friends and family, and to whoever reads this review. Took car to the dealership where they do a video recorded inspection and found that he still had full brake pads and no issues with rotors. Last year while down in Long Beach from LA I noticed I had a flat tire (nail). I happened to be right across the street from this shop, so I used my compressor to fill up the tire enough to drive over. I thought it would just be a patch, but they said it was in a spot where that wouldn't work so I'd need a new tire. Ok, I get it, it's happened to me before. Then they told me I actually need 2 new tires because the other rear tire was worn. My regular shop in LA who I've been going to for over 10yrs keeps a close eye on my car and maintenance. I knew I wasn't due for new tires for at least another 6-9mths. But the guy was insistent that for safety I needed both rear tires replaced. Then he says I also need an alignment. I explained I just had one recently for strut work and he again says that for safety I need it. (I should have called my shop to deal with these guys.) I have dealt with shady mechanics all my life. As a woman, you come to expect them to think you don't know anything about car maintenance and that they will try to scam you. Fortunately, I know a thing or two about cars and I thought I was pretty savvy, but apparently I was had. I agreed to the alignment and 2 new tires since I had a long drive on the freeway to do. I was so frustrated that I couldn't go to my regular shop. I go to pay and I saw the amount and was confused as to why 2 tires and an alignment is over $400!? They gave me some BS about what the costs were and since I had no choice, I paid it and drove home. Fast forward to today. I knew my 2 front tires needed to be replaced and so I took it to MY shop. I also brought in the receipt from Mountainview to show them the info for the 2 back tires. First thing my guy says when I asked if this was shady was "you were overcharged." Apparently Mountainview sold me the cheapest quality tires but overcharged for them. And they charged me for stuff I didn't ask for or need...they just slipped it in there (warranties on the tires and some other up charge). I asked my shop if I needed an alignment for my visit today since I just got 2 new tires and he said "no, you only need that if your tires are wearing unevenly and they're not". THIS is what an honest mechanic looks like...not the folks at Mountainview. I walked out of my shop today with 2 new tires, an oil change, 2 new air filters, balancing, and paid HALF of what Mountainview charged. I didn't even need an alignment when I brought my car to them last year but they lied and said I did. All to get more money out of me. Knowing what I know now (and I had a feeling I was being scammed but felt I was stuck since I had a flat), I suggest you find another shop. Trust me, it'll be worth your time and money to go elsewhere. read more

Called them on the phone and they quoted me a battery price replacement that we agreed on. When I got there price jumped stating that I had a nicer version of the vehicle. Both battery bays are the same but the price was now almost the same price as dealer battery replacement. I then had to negotiate the price down to back to a little more then the original price. When I went to pick up at almost closing I noticed a huge sign that said free battery installation for most vehicles. I mentioned it to them and they stated my vehicle wasn't covered due to resetting the vehicle codes. I would like to use them again since they are my local shop in my neighborhood but can't due to their price tactics and the inability to be straightforward about the price. I felt like I was at a used car dealership. To wrap it up I overpaid for a battery which should have had a free install as advertised. But what should have cost me $200 with tax according to chat gbt was a little over $350. I would not recommend this shop. read more

I visited this place a while back because my oil light was flickering on and off. They changed my oil pressure sensor. Unfortunately it didn't stop the issue, because they installed a defective sensor. I don't blame them for that part because they had no way of knowing the part didn't work. However, when the issue persisted and I brought my car back, instead of checking the sensor they told me it was something else and charged me for all this additional work. Had they checked the defective sensor THEY installed, it would've saved me over $1000 on unnecessary work. These guys played me. I'd avoid this place if you don't want the same done to you. God awful service. Took my car here for a diagnostic. Called at 1030a to see if they could do the test and asked how long it would take. Dustin said confidently they could do it in two hours. 3 hours max and to bring it in. I drove over to them from Pep Boys and Dustin asked who my warranty was with and a copy of it. I tell him I don't have a copy of it and he starts to talk negatively about Silver Rock, the company my warranty is with. Complaining to me about their customer service and how it can take 2-3 hours on a claim. Even one of the men in the waiting room was telling him to be positive and hope for the best. I should have known and taken my car someplace else then but I was trying to be patient. I drive home at 1130a took a nap and woke up at 329p with no call or update on my car. I call and wait on hold for 20 minutes for Dustin to go "check"on my car. Absolute awful customer service. Unprofessional and a lack of clear communication. I have NEVER waited on hold for 20 minutes. That is absolutely uncalled for in every way. I hung up and called back. He then tells me he was helping a customer and that they could not replicate the squeaking noise and I needed four new tires! What?!? I then asked if he heard the car driving because anyone listening out of the vehicle would be able to hear the squeak. He said no he did not. Then he tells me the treading is bad but it's too "complicated" for me to understand. I almost start to laugh at this point because it's absolutely ridiculous that they couldn't duplicate the sound that I've heard every single day but they could figure out that I needed four new tires. DO NOT bring your car here! Understaffed and Dustin as nice as he may be cannot handle an office alone. I think he was trying but that does not excuse the unprofessional behavior and lack of communication. A day wasted due to a lack of communication. I should have left my car at Pep Boys instead of trusting this guy or this shop. Also after over 5 hours total you would think my paperwork would be ready when I arrived. Of course not. That be too much. Also I got into a screaming match with Dustin who thinks it's uncalled for that I'm angry and upset. He was screaming and shaking, saying he wasn't a child and didn't deserved to be talked to like he was a child. I have every right to be upset with the lack of communication and God awful service. When you don't do your job. You apologize. That's it. You don't defend yourself. You just apologize. Very simple customer service skill that clearly this man has never learned. You don't yell back at the customer when you are in the wrong or continue to bring up how short staffed you are. Worst experience ever! Call log of calls to this place. If you have 4-5 hours to spare and want to deal with less that stellar customer service and service go here! But they will Align. Called back in 5 mins. Your car is done. I knew that they were not being g honest because we wouldn't pay for their upselling recommendations. Which the car didn't need! Picked up car and they claim they fixed it and cannot bring it back if the alignment doesn't seem right. Drove down the street, car was NOT aligned. They ripped us off. I knew when I pulled up, seeing the whole staff is around 19 years old,Including the mechanics this was not going to be the best experience. Should have went with my gut. PLEASE DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE! I had been a loyal customer for some time and Bruce was always very fair in the price for repairing my car. I went in today and was charged $87.58 for my oil change when the Honda Dealership only charges $59. Before I went to pick up my car I was told I needed my front and back brakes and rotors replaced. They also told me I had a right rear shock that needed to be replaced. Something felt off and little did they know that my neighbor works as a mechanic so I had him take a look at my car. He said that both the front and back rotors looked fine and were at 8 mm and the front were at 4 mm and to go ahead replace the front brakes. Mountain view was right about the leak in the right rear shock. I took my car to Honda to have the work done and they confirmed what my neighbor has said. Long story short... mountain view LIED and told me to replace all my brakes and rotors which was FALSE! The back breaks were brand new. They wanted to charge me $4,000.00 for all this when it wasn't necessary. I am not sure if there is new management or a bunch of mechanics who have no clue what they are doing or... they saw a blonde woman come into their shop and thought they could take advantage of me. Very negligent shop. Had some spare time while I was in the Long Beach area so decided to stop by to get a quick oil change since I was due for one. Took them 3 hours to do a simple oil change and come to find out they can't even do that right. While the mechanic was busy chatting with his coworkers in between working on my car, he forgot to put a washer on the bolt going into my oil pan so it completely indented the part where the bolt is supposed to seal the oil from coming out and now my car leaks oil constantly. The kind and actual experienced mechanics at Strom German Auto Service in Costa Mesa made me aware of this since I brought my car to them due to the leak considering I didn't think this poor auto shop could have messed up an oil change that bad. They explained to me that Mountain View made this silly mistake when I got my last oil change and recommended I take it back to them to see what they can do to make it right. I went back to Mountain View to address this and they just denied fault and couldn't do anything for me and said that Strom did it. Mind you, I've been taking my car to Strom for 3 years now and have had nothing but good experiences. Now I have to pay for a new oil pan when all I wanted done was the simplest task you can do on a car. The guy Dan working the front counter puts on an innocent act like he's sorry for what happened but immediately denies any sort of fault for his staff before I could even explain what the issue was. UPDATED: 3 stars was too generous Is it customary for employees working behind the counter to act patronizing and condescending to their customers? Or was it just my luck? I made an appointment online to get a nail in my tire taken care of. The tire was not flat, but since I put in quite a bit of mileage and with two little ones in tow, I didn't want to risk a compromising situation on the road. So, I googled the closest tire repair location closest to me, and made an appointment hoping to get this resolved within my lunch hour. I sat outside and watched how my vehicle was, indeed, pulled into the garage right around my scheduled appointment time (12:30), but when the hour mark came and went and I could still see my vehicle suspended -with two tires off (when I spotted the nail in just one) I began to worry something else was wrong. After all, I only came in for a quick patch, not a whole tire replacement. When I asked one of the individuals behind the counter ( don't know his name, he's older and missing teeth) how much longer it was going to take, since I'd checked in 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment and it was already close to the two hour mark, he proceeded to mansplain how appointments work, because apparently I asked for that patronizing breakdown, and he even had the nerve to compare their services to a doctor's appointment, except "doctors work with human blood and we work with brown blood". Uhh what? I didn't express this in the moment to the gentleman, because I was kinda speechless ,but his response to my question (which, by the way, I didn't ask in a rude or demanding voice) left me feeling pretty shitty. Humiliated, I took a seat and shut up because after all, what was I supposed to do? I was by myself, I needed to get this resolved, and it's not like I could drive away. In retrospect, I realize my mistake was not explicitly sharing the limited timeframe I was on, and asking if it would take a long time. All I asked the person who checked me in (who was very courteous, by the way) was if it would be an easy fix, to which he responded that it would be up to the technician to determine. Ok, fair. I don't think it's a tall order to ask what the status of your vehicle is, more so when you've been waiting two hours , and when you get treated like you did something wrong by asking for the status on your vehicle repair. I am glad the technician who helped me was kind and not at all condescending, but this older gentleman...man, what is his problem ? What's the point of being demeaning, instead of answering a simple question? I wish there was a separate review for just his lack of customer service skills.
