The ice cream was good, but the service was subpar. It seemed pretty obvious that they know tourists will come in either way so there's no need to be overly friendly or quick. After getting scolded about not standing in the line in the preferred area, we ordered. The approach in the asking was unnecessarily gruff. My sister in law asked for a milkshake and waited about 15 minutes, when I went up to inquire for her the staff told me they forgot and didn't apologize or anything. It wasn't horrible, but just a bit irritating. Next time we can get ice cream elsewhere. read more

Here's to my sweet tooth and a successful Mt. Sneffels climb. Mouse's signage beckoned me toward their ice cream. They have about 8-10 selections in a case behind their chocolates. I was headed to the Roast and Toast for a coffee when I was rerouted to Mouse's due to the Roast and Toast being closed. I walked in and was hit in the face with some of the most awesome looking chocolates I have seen. My plain coffee desire turned into a mocha accompanied by two truffles, a scrap cookie and a lemon bar. It was all delicious! Ouray has a gem in this place. The staff was so friendly as well. Wi-fi wasn't working in our condo so I came here to stay connected to the world, and glad I did! I only tried the coffee, but the long display case of chocolates looked and smelled fantastic. The coffee--both dark roast and espresso--was very tasty too, made with beans they roast on premise. Can't really get fresher or better than that. Servers were all very friendly too. The seating could be a little less sterile--felt like a cafeteria with bland white booths, which is a shame for an otherwise cute shop. We always stop to get chocolate when we see new chocolate places. I didn't see anything special, and I wasn't overly impressed. The chocolate wasn't anything special. The mint patties had a strange flavor. The cookie was just ok, but the concept of it being scraps was interesting. Rude and Racist - and only $32 a pound. We stopped by for some chocolate. I asked how much it was and was told $32 a pound. I commented that $32 a pound was a bit pricy, but that it must be worth it. The young woman behind the counter replied, "you don't get American labor at Chinese prices." This might have been a forgivable comment if my wife, who was standing next to me, wasn't Asian, but she is. So how rude was that! We will not be back to this racist establishment and recommend that unless you fit the "correct demographic" for this place, you might want to stay away as well, or be subject to blatant racism by a rude, uneducated, and proud to be ignorant employee. read more

Go to this place for the delectable selection of Chocolates. I tried the Dark Chocolate Blueberry Truffle and the Scrap Cookie (a rather Large Cookie) which were both great. The Truffle chocolate was the clear winner- it just melts deliciously. The cashier handed it to me like a piece of jewellery, making sure not to squish it. Everything is a little pricey, specially the coffees. I tried the "Shameless" coffee and my hubby tried the "Cafe Au lait" both were rather disappointing. Will go back just for the chocolates.
