This place saved me! We were staying nearby at the Ouray hot springs resort, about a two minute drive from this part of downtown Ouray. I needed a place I could get strong Wi-Fi to take Zoom meetings for work and spend the morning, and the icehouse was perfect! It's not too big, they have two side rooms branching off from the main room, with seating and tables that were perfect for a work from home day. The service was also great, the gentleman there in the early morning was super friendly, I bought a coffee and prepaid for a bag of donuts that I wouldn't want for a couple of hours, and he had no problem with it and was happy to make the donuts later in the morning whenever I was ready--- I'm so happy I did because the donuts were the highlight of my day. My wife and I visited this coffee & ice cream shop for the first time today in beautiful, historic Ouray, CO. The shop was conveniently located just off the main road on 7th Avenue, the outside and inside of the shop was decorated nicely, the friendly owner greeted us as we entered, the shop was larger than the photos show, had sufficient & different kinds of seating with & without tables, some really comfy seats, clean dining room, clean tables, no bad smells at all, tons of bakery items, tons of coffee choices, and tons of homemade ice cream choices!, very good service, little play area for little kids, a nice clean restroom that was interesting and did not smell bad (it actually smelled good!, nice music playing, and the free WiFi worked well. read more

Cutest little ice cream shop with the nicest owner. I tried the cinnamon cayenne honey ice cream (I think that was the combo) and it was surprisingly the best ice cream I've ever had. I had read how good the donuts were here so we got up and stopped in early. We got powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar. The powdered sugar was soo good, reminded me of a funnel cake!! Y'all. Stop by and get you some donuts. If you arent sure what flavor (cinnamon sugar or powdered sugar) just get both. They're amazing with tons of 'topping'!!! We were leaving town after enjoying a great fall weekend spent off roading in the San Juan mountains and had an urge for some donuts. The wife saw the sign for fresh donuts and while I was the loading the car went to get us some. Wow! Fantastic, fried to order mini donuts that delivered incredible flavor with every bit. We went with the cinnamon sugar and loved every one. True confession, I ate most of them as she also got a wonderful blueberry muffin which limited her ability to gorge herself on the donuts. Is five stars a fair rating when all we ate was a donut and a muffin? Maybe so, maybe not but to me, yes cause all the mattered was the flavor. I will say service was quick, even with the donut's being fried to order and the staff were really friendly and cordial. A must stop if you love hot, fresh, sugary donut's. read more

There aren't many places in Ouray that open before 7am so this place is such a gem. The owner is so friendly and inviting. They have delicious baked goods, plenty of grab and go items that are perfect to save for a day out on the ice, and good coffee. I haven't had a chance to try the ice cream or donuts but they look delicious! The space is impressively big - there's two rooms off to the side that are more private - so good for getting work done or if you're meeting up with people. Highly recommend! read more

Well made coffee chosen from the simplest menu you could imagine -- I think there were 5 choices, but what more do you really need? Decent prices, open early, and super friendly. The building interior is a bit sterile, but there's some nice seating, including in a little room off to the side. Only thing outdoors is a bench. read more

I'm an ice cream snob, I know it and admit it. So without throwing shade to 99% of the ice cream shops in town, this is the only one that offers what I would consider a premium ice cream for sale. Sure, Blue Bunny is great and all of there isn't anything better, but once you have some of the ice cream from Third Bowl that they server here, you will think of all other ice creams as substandard. The Chili Chocolate Cherry, and the Lavender Honey are two of the best flavors of ice cream I've ever had. And the Banana Pudding ice cream tugs at my childhood heartstrings of homemade 'nanner pudding at family gatherings. Do yourself a favor and PLEASE, step off of the main drag just a few steps and be rewarded with some of the best ice cream that you will find in this area. I know this isn't fair but, I did not like the type or brand of the coffee they use, the Americano is to weak, or watery, it lacked the strong coffee aroma and taste. So grateful for this adorable, little coffee shop opening at 6am. It can be really hard to find good coffee early in small towns.
