Place is super packed, but the lines move very quick. What was a little confusing to me was how the line works so FYI: there is seemingly 1 line, but when you're 'next' you move to counter of the treat you want (icecream, chocolate or drinks). So, if no one ahead of you is getting a drink, you can in a way cut the line to get a drink as long as no one is at the drink counter. I went 3 times during our week stay just to get the Iced Matcha Latte - and the taste stayed consistently good. I added Lavender syrup and could still taste both flavors (one did not over power the other) and overall the drink was not overly sweet. I love the lavender matcha combo and get it whenever I see it, and this one definitely is in my top. I got the Alpenglow- out of curiosity, cause I saw someone get it and was interested. I am not the biggest OJ fan - so if you are in my boat I recommend asking for no OJ as it overpowered the alpine. read more

She was extremely rude and snappy. I was ready to walk out but I really wanted an espresso. She obviously hates her job and dealing with people. Stopped on for an after dinner treat shortly before they closed for the night, and was surprised to see how busy they were! The ice cream looked amazing and I totally want to come back and try it, but we decided to try some chocolate treats instead. My fiancé got milk chocolate covered caramels, and I got some plain chocolate fudge. My fiancé loved the caramels, and my fudge was super rich and delicious. I came back the next day and got huckleberry ice cream in a waffle cone. I usually don't go for ice creams with any sort of fruit taste, but I was intrigued and I'm so glad I tried it! After visiting Mouse's and buying a selection of chocolates, we returned home and discovered that four of the truffles I'd thought I'd ordered weren't in the box. I was so disappointed. I contacted Mouse's and the woman I spoke to cared so much and was so helpful, even checking our original order to see whether we'd paid for the missing truffles or not (we had not). She took this (very small) order, packed up the four missing truffles and had them delivered to our door within two days. I was so impressed with this level of caring customer service that I am a fan and customer for life. This place was really cute! Everyone working there was very friendly, and it's pretty spacious so you can distance yourself from others during the COVID days. My dad and I drop by Mouse's Chocolates whenever we visit Ouray. They have an impressive selection of artisan chocolates kettle cooked on the premises, but we crave one item in particular: the buttery, dense scrap sugar cookies displayed proudly near the register. The "scraps" in the name refer to leftover morsels of chocolate, toffee, and occasional bits of dried fruit. I crave them now as I write this review. If I weren't so sensitive to caffeine and other chemical compounds found in coffee, I'm sure I would rave about the house-roasted java. My dad, an avid coffee drinker for life, swears by their French roast: "That's one good cup of Joe." In lieu of coffee, I make sure to order a hand-dipped shake blended with bits of chocolate and a liberal squirt of raspberry syrup. I doubt the ice cream is made on the premises, but it tastes fresh and is likely sourced locally. Few things in life are sweeter, figuratively and literally, than a huge scrap cookie washed down by thick chocolate raspberry swirl milkshake. Customer service is the one area lacking at Mouse's. The employees are competent and superficially polite but not ingratiating: minimal eye contact, no smiles, and no attempts at conversation. A request for an extra thick shake, for example, was met with a shrug followed by, "I'll do what I can." Perhaps a little embellishment (e.g., "Sure, I'll make it as thick as I possibly can!") would have added a level of humanity. If you ever visit the small, historic mountain town of Ouray, CO., make a point to visit Mouse's. The sugar rush will help you traverse the hilly avenues and tide you over until dinner. Nothing at Mouse's is cheap (e.g., chocolate truffles and scrap cookies for $38 and $50/pound, respectively), but the finer things in life rarely are. read more

It's good for where and what it is. I do not drink coffee So I cannot comment or speak to that. What I can say is....The ice cream is low quality commercial. The chocolate is pretty good, better than some others for sure. I wouldn't say the chocolate is exquisite or exceptional though. Yet at the same time I wouldn't say it's bad or don't go. Yet again at the same time.....there is no where else so to go in the area. The scrap cookies used to be my favorite for years. But now they are not actually scrap cookies. They do not use the scraps of the chocolate and bakery as the used to. Or in season for that matter, yet it seems like season doesn't end there as much nowadays. Ouray has been rediscovered and is getting busier by the year. The scrap cookies used to be soft and chewy yet now they are hard as a rock most of the time. I say this as I'm a scrap cookie hunter and they used to have the best. The rest of their cookies are hit and miss as far as the soft and chewy to hard as a rock factor as well. Friendly staff and fun eats with the star being the scrap cookie which is a combination of all their chocolate seconds with a shortbread like cookie mixed together. Really fun. We also got the Belgium hit chocolate which was kind of boring. Very watery, low on deep chocolate flavor. I'd recommend skipping that. Some others around us had the ice cream and said that was quite good. Their chocolates looked great as well but we didn't get them this time. The lemon bar was great. We were in town for a few days for our yearly Fall trip to cozy and beautiful Ouray Colorado. This was my third time to this wonderful sweet shop to eat my favorite chocolate ice cream and to purchase some regular chocolate fudge and coffee fudge as well to ship to my happy and healthy 93 year old grandfather in Cocoa Beach Florida. Good news it made it safe and sound. He told me that Mouse's has the best fudge ever it just melts in his mouth with every bite. I had some chocolate ice cream while we were in town and I have to say it was nice and milky I was super impressed with how good their ice cream is. The staff was super friendly and the store was just adorable it reminded me of something you would walk into in a story book every town needs a sweet shop like Mouse's in it. I highly recommend the store if you love specialty coffee drinks, fresh baked cookies and muffins, fudge, truffles, ice cream and lots of other yummy goodies. Our next trip to Ouray is in May 2022 and I'll definitely be going back here to try something new. read more

We saw this place had good reviews and was originally going to just order some hot drinks, but then of course I had to check yelp. So many people commented on how good their ice cream was, I had to get in line to order ice cream just so I could judge for myself. The 3 of us ordered hot drinks and I ended up with the mocha almond fudge ice cream and...y'all...it was delicious. This is one of my all time childhood favorite flavors and haven't had one where it wasn't too sweet. Many places are too heavy on the fudge and too light on the mocha.
