This rating is solely based on their Belgium hot Chocolot so I would still come back to try some of their other products. For example the cookies, fudge and sundaes all looked delicious but unfortunately I cannot consume multiple sugary good without feeling bad later so I ended up with hot chocolate. It was super cold (16 F) so hot chocolate sounded good. I went with the Belgium regather than the Mexican hot chocolate. It was too light for my taste and warm rather than hot. This place is a gem. I got a milk chocolate caramel and a raspberry truffle. The caramel was handmade and the best i have ever had. The raspberry truffle also handmade was so fresh and juicy. You could taste the fresh raspberries in it. I wish i would have bought more to bring home. I will definitely be back. read more

On 10/14/22 the wife and I were exploring Ouray's Main Street, and she wanteda up of coffee. I obviously went into the store with her and very quickly I was tempted by the Almond Bark. I decided to buy a quarter pound. After a young male with a backwards ballcap stood in the direct vicinity of the bark next to a scale, I asked him if I could have a quarrter pound of the Almond Bark. With no verbal response he fulfils my order, but then proceeds to basically throw the bag of chocolate at me, not releasing the bag, but doing it in such a monner that he clearly did notwant to beat work, let alone helping me. I was FLOORED by this egregious act performed by the kid, and intead of punching him square in the face, I took a deep breath and expessed my concerns to the wife, and attepted to report this incident to the "Manager". I told him everything I conveyed here, but started the converstaion with, "I don't know if that kid is having a bad day, or what, but if that's the case, he doesn't need to be here serving customers." The "Manager" responded with nothing but "have a nice day" with a worse attitude then the kid I was making a complaint on. Very pricey for what you get. We ordered two milkshakes and a small cone. It was tasty, but not anything special. Ummmm...wow. Finding really quality chocolates in small mountain towns usually does not happen in my experience. We passed through Ourey today and happened to see this store on Main Street. When you walk in there is a substantial case of chocolates. I told the guy behind me not to judge and I started ordering. We took home Oreo bark, marzipan mice, four different kinds of truffles, a magic bar and and apricot/cherry white chocolate bark. Oh and a scrap cookie. What is a scrap cookie you ask? It is all their leftover candy and chocolate folded into a family recipe cookie dough. Which means they aren't the same flavors each time depending on what was left over. We ate the scrap cookie and a marzipan mouse, went to another store and came BACK to get two more mice and another scrap cookie. Yes folks, that good. On the way out of town we tried the blackberry truffle which was melt in your mouth amazing. read more

Hard to decide which incredibly delicious choice was our personal favorite.......In the Expresso category, we think our favorite was "Fogcutter Expresso" but, Mexican Mocha was a real close 2nd!! In the ice cream department, our 3 favorites were: Moosetracks, Maple Pecan and Mocha Almond Fudge!!! It was cold, rainy and windy when we popped in --but, that really didn't seem to matter. When Mouse's opened several years ago I was hopeful but thinking it would be restaurant roadkill. I say this not because it wasn't good but because every time I go to Ouray there are new places and old ones that I liked are gone. I am happy to say that Mouse's is still going strong!!! Their coffee is, in my humble opinion, the best in Ouray. I have tried several other places and they do not hold a candle to Mouse's. In addition, her chocolate work is tasty and beautiful. Her sundaes - the last I had was the turtle - are absolutely to die for. My favorites: Coffee - The Carpathian - four shots of espresso on top of espresso cream with a shot of vanilla - need I say more? We completely enjoyed this little gem in the town. After a nice hike, we wanted some dessert to end the evening. The line situation was interesting, however, we were helped immediately. A lady helped us sample a couple flavors and in the midst a young gentleman helped finish the order. They don't have a cold drink menu but you can order any hot drink iced. I ordered an iced Mocha and it was amazing... Expresso with belgian chocolate but not too sweet, just how I liked it! The scrap cookies were very good too. read more

We have had ice-cream here before. It is always good. This was our anniversary trip and it so happened that the Mouses was right across from our hotel (Hotel Ouray). We arrived late afternoon and started walking the street after dinner and wanted ice-cream. We arrived at 8 pm and they had just closed. Drat. We rolled in right after the 4th of July parade so it was a bit nuts but the kids working there didn't get flustered, kept cool and worked together to get everyone taken care of. They are really a great team! The coffee kicked but and the portions of ice cream are ridiculous and delicious. We didn't have the shakes but from what I was seeing fly out the door and the look of sheer joy on everyone's faces I have no doubt they were delicious as well. Mouses is a must if you are driving through Ouray! There are always lots of unique ice cream flavors and so many different types of chocolate treats to choose from. We haven't had coffee from here yet, but there are so many options of iced and hot coffee drinks. I wish they would open a little earlier so we could come get our morning cup of coffee from here! This gem was recommended as a must stop in Ouray. The shop has a great selection of chocolates and coffees. I am a huge fan of salted caramels and the salted dark chocolate caramels did not disappoint, perfect combination of sweet and salty. Also tried the peanut butter truffle, lots of peanut butter, minimal chocolate - just how I like it. The scraps cookie is unique to the location however I have mixed feelings. For those who are fans of a classic chocolate chip cookie you may also be disappointed. Some bites were good others were not and overall I wish the cookie would have been softer, not sure how long they had been sitting out. Overall great treats, and loved my caramel Americano!
