I have been their long time customer, and throughout the years they have never disappointed me. Pastries and cakes are always super fresh and delicious. Their custom made cakes are the bomb. Any design, style, taste, color - they got it. Prices are affordable compared to many places. The staff is friendly and helpful. My friend, Marine is awesome, she is just so incredibly helpful, caring and always so nice. Today I had 3 o assigns and I got cakes for each one, 2 bdays and graduation congratulations. My niece loved her tres leches cake, my brother - his chocolate cake and my daughter loved her cheesecake with raspberry filling. My daughter just passed her medical licensing exam, I can't be more proud and the cake rose to the occasion Store is always clean and of course, smells amazing. Displays are well lit, and choices are just endless. If you are nearby, make sure to visit them, in my own opinion they are 10000 times better than the Paradise pastry next door. I will start off with saying I am a long time customer of Movses Pastry and have never returned anything before in all these years. I am sad I have to leave this negative review however, people should be aware before buying from here. This past Saturday I purchased sliced up Turkish Delights in what looked to be a pre packaged box and had some guests over that night. We all ate the same dinner however, a couple of people who ate the Turkish Delights I had purchased that day became sick from it. I know it was the Turkish Delights because only those couple of people who ate it got sick and they told me they tasted very stale and only ate one piece each. I called and spoke with the manager Ninet today and told her the situation and she was very short and kept saying she has customers in the store she needed to attend to and said she would not do anything and I can do whatever I want with them (throw them away or eat them) and that they receive them weekly and slice them fresh everyday. I was hoping she would be more accommodating and at least offer to exchange the item for something else in the store under the circumstances. I paid $37 and now have to throw away 99% of it, it is not just about the money, it's the principle. Needless to say the customer service is really bad and I am very disappointed, I will let my friends and family know and I will not be returning. Customers beware of purchasing from Movses Pastry, customer service is not a priority at this place. read more

Oh boy. I have always known of Movses Pastry, having grown up in Glendale. Invariably, my mom or a family friend will have a nazouk or some other pastry from Movses on tap for coffee time or get-togethers. I always thought they were good. Last night, we popped in to pick up a couple cake slices for our date night, and was met with stone silence upon walking into the store. After a couple of glances in the employee's general direction, I said "well, hello to you too", to which she responded with a glum "hello". That was almost enough for me to walk out, but didn't. Both cake slices -- stale. The orange cake was tasty, but stale. The chocolate cake lacked both flavor and freshness. Bummer of an experience. Note: I only give 1-star if I've been food poisoned, hence the two stars. read more

Stop buying from this bakery!! & report health department. 1. Poor Pastry Quality I purchased Baklava, Halva, and various puff pastries, all of which were extremely disappointing. The pastries were old, dry, and, shockingly, the puff pastry was moldy. I had specifically asked if everything was fresh, and the staff assured me that all items were baked fresh daily. However, upon bringing them home, we found them inedible due to their dryness and, worse, the presence of mold. It seems that the bakery targets a specific customer base, likely elderly who may not notice the poor quality of the products and the amount they spend to buy the pastries without realizing the quality. Very sad. Please start caring more for the people. 2. Unacceptable Customer Service I called the bakery to express my concerns and spoke with the manager, Ninet. Despite explaining our disappointment calmly, her response was dismissive and unprofessional. Extremely rude individual. You should be embarrassed to see your name on this review. She insisted that they do not lie and that everything is baked fresh. When asked what measures they would take to improve the quality in the future, she simply responded, "Nothing, we'll stop selling old pastries." The fact that she admits that they are selling old pastry. Throughout the conversation, she showed no empathy or acknowledgment of our experience and ended the call with laughter and a dismissive "okay, bye." This is a family-owned business, and it would be greatly appreciated if the owner of Movses Bakery could foster a work culture that values respect toward customers while also ensuring healthier and higher-quality pastries. Considering the prices charged, it's disappointing to end up with products that go straight to the trash. Care for others as you would care for yourself. Rude, disrespectful & unprofessional. Never Coming Back Customer service? Nonexistent. Atmosphere? Like entering a prison cafeteria. I've been here, the staff is rude and act like you're bothering them just by walking in. No smile, no hello -- just attitude. The food is even worse. The pastries are dry, old, and taste like they've been sitting there for days. Nothing is fresh. AND fyi I parked in front just for a minute, and they had my car TOWED without even saying a word. Yes you read that right. What kind of business treats people like that? I wasn't blocking anything. Just existing apparently was enough to be punished. My friends warned me not to come here. They said the place felt like jail, and now I understand why. Don't waste your time or money here. There are better bakeries out there that treat people like actual customers-not criminals. read more

By far one of the worst bakeries i've been to. First is the attitude, not sure if the front desk lady woke up on the wrong side or just couldn't understand what I was asking her. I only got the baklava. The place is very clean and the service was especially good. Diana was the lady who helped me out and she was very sweet and informative. The bucklava was honestly maybe 3 stars out of 5, hence this review. It was not very crunchy, though it was fresh. It just didn't have the wow factor that a baklava normally would. We bought a birthday cake for my fathers birthday and when we ate it the taste was so bad and distinctive like wet dirt. When we cut it deeper there was mold all over and inside. Why they should sell a cake that went bad with mold and fungus on it!!! When we check the date it was expired 2 weeks ago. We threw it away. The next day we went to The bakery letting them know what happened she was so rude and not respectful! What a customer service! She said you're wrong! She said it's ok to sell a 3 weeks old cake and if you want your money back you have to bring the cake back! Why should I keep smelly moldy cake??!! The manager refused to show up and talk to me but I waited until he showed up and he yelled at me! This is unbelievable! This is intolerable and I'm very very upset. STAY AWAY from this pastry place . My sister who doesn't live in neighborhood came to my house and bought the cream puffs from Movses Pastry, which was sooooo disgusting due to the fact that the inner cream was soooooo old and moldy , omg the most disgusting taste that I had in my life. Everyone in my house started admitting that they also tasted that moldy cream puffs after first bite but didn't feel like appropriate to let me (host) to know. My sister decided to go back and take whatever remaining of those cream puffs to them and let them know what happened. Guess WHAT ? Wow the manager whose name was Marine instead of apologizing and listening to the customer!!! Started raising her voice that our products are always fresh and very rudely argued with them and they came back to my house , I was like what is going on are we living in the 3rd wold country ???? No this is USA and there are rules and regulations and it is the consumers right to complain if THE FOOD THAT THEY Pay IS MOLDYYY AND CAN CAUSE SERIOUS HEALTH ISSUES to the consumers . I decided to call back and talk to manager , wow she was soooo rude to yell at me and say well come back Get 5$ back since you brought back 5 cream puffs and the rest was all eaten lol ( I'm sure they will put back those cream puffs to resell it . I was speechless of the fact that this lady is sooooo unprofessional and rude towards customers , she said one of the owners will call you and hung up at me . JUST WOW. NO ONE CALLED BACK .
