I'm a bit heartbroken with this review. First of all Dr Boots is absolutely AMAZING at what he does…read moreno doubt about that. I can agree with those comments that say he's absolutely great in every aspect he's gentle, understanding, and doesn't push procedures you don't need like others do. Almost every time I've gone to him for over 10 years he's been the best with all my dental needs as well as my families. As a small practice I understand why he doesn't take any new clients cause his hours and his family needs are important and I understand that and respect that. When it comes to the front office it can be a bit frustrating & upsetting at times when phones aren't answered during work hrs or when appointments are canceled so last minute. I understand there are emergencies but contacting patients is important as well because they stop what they do to be there on time and part of customer service is communicating that. I've had pretty bad pain these past few days on a top right molar that I'm sure is going to be a Root Canal but I haven't been able to get a hold of anybody. I've called when they just open and have had to come in person during their work hrs and they are closed. No sign as a warning for patients. I understand the holidays are coming and at times they do close but I feel posting it in their front door or something would be the professional thing to do or The Staff taking care of that but at times it seems they don't care. The hours they have on their Yelp doesn't match in reality. I've tried calling several times and it's the same recording since we started coming 10 years ago it rings 2-3 times and then voicemail that It feels they never get to. I don't think I'm asking for a lot to be in the loop and know they will be closed from this date to further noice if that's the case. Maybe a new recording would be great it takes a few minutes to make one that sounds friendly and a bit more professional in my defense. Like I said I'm heartbroken because I really genuinely love coming to Dr. Boots but a bit more effort has to go into the front to feel some sort of compassion or to feel heard when someone is going thru some sort of pain and especially someone who is a recurring customer of 10+ years and has referred so many people here.. As desperate as I am I contacted another Dentist that gave me an appointment for Friday and even sent a text as a reminder and to save on my calendar.. that's all it takes and I felt heard. That's all...

The receptionists are always welcoming, kind, and knowledgeable whenever I have questions or need clarification about something. The doctors have been phenomenal as well and have helped me tremendously. One thing that really stood out to me was when a crown from a different dental office unexpectedly came out while I was chewing on a granola bar (definitely not how I planned to spend my day!). Even though the original work wasn't done by them, they got me in quickly, thoroughly explained the process, and happily took over the treatment to fix an issue they didn't create. That level of professionalism and care meant a lot to me. I've been to this office numerous times now, and every visit has been positive. Like any healthcare office, they get busy at times, but I've always felt acknowledged and valued, even when they're juggling multiple patients. The staff consistently make an effort to greet you and ensure you're taken care of. Maybe I appreciate some of the behind-the-scenes work because I understand how busy front office staff can be, but both the small details and the bigger things have never gone unnoticed. The entire team has been friendly, professional, and genuinely caring. I'll absolutely continue coming here and would recommend giving them a chance rather than letting a few negative reviews sway your decision. Every experience I've had has been positive, and I'm grateful to have found a dental office I genuinely trust.

Special shout out to Carolina (she's always super friendly and nice!). Wait times are not long (maybe 5 min), and typically only 1, maybe 2 others in the waiting room. The longest i ever waited was maybe 20 mins, but that is not usual. They definitely schedule things with the patient in mind :) This practice also accepts Medi-cal dental insurance which is nice, and for the times i had to pay for something that wasnt covered, their prices were reasonable (pretty much market rate, sometimes a bit lower compared to other places i asked!). Do take caution if you get hygienist Dr. Danan--everything was smooth sailing for me until I got paired with her. She'd be very rough during the cleanings, and always ask if i flossed (which i do, everyday) because my gums bled quite a lot. I never had this issue in previous cleanings (when i was paired with others). I'm not sure if Dr. Danan is new, but I was able to request going back to having my cleanings with someone else, and that worked out great. My gums didnt feel assaulted and there were no issues :) Highly recommend Flossy Dental and even after moving farther away, I still stick with them!!

I never imagined I would be writing a review like this, but I feel obligated to share my experience…read moreso others know they should always seek a second opinion before agreeing to extensive dental treatment. I initially came here because I had a painful tooth that I already knew likely needed a root canal according to my previous dentist. After beginning the root canal, I was told the decay was too extensive and that the tooth could not be saved. The dentist strongly recommended extracting it immediately. Trusting their professional judgment, I agreed. The tooth was extracted, a bone graft and membrane were placed, and I was told to return in about a week for a follow-up. Two days later, the office called and asked me to come back because they had a cancellation and wanted to take a full-mouth set of X-rays to make sure everything else looked healthy. That appointment completely blindsided me. The owner of the practice Dr. Nadi, came in and told me I had six cavities, several failing fillings, two crowns that needed to be replaced, another tooth that urgently needed a root canal, severe gum inflammation requiring laser treatment that insurance would not cover, and that I needed to start treatment immediately. For context, I had been seeing my prior dentist for nearly 22 years before making an emergency appointment with Dr.Smile, and had been there less than a year earlier and left with no problems other than eventually needing a root canal. I brush, floss daily, and use a Waterpik. When I mentioned that, I was told my previous dentist had done poor-quality work and that's why I supposedly had so many problems. Then I received the treatment estimate. With my dental insurance, the total came to $11,325, including approximately $5,200 for an implant to replace the tooth they had just extracted. The estimate also included numerous additional fees, such as multiple charges for desensitizing medication $95 each tooth for 5 teeth, expensive lab fees totaling $1,950, BioPure charges amounting to $800, laser gum treatment $600, and mandatory IV sedation for the future implant amounting to $1,000 for 30 minutes. I was overwhelmed and honestly broke down crying in the office because there was no possible way I could afford it. I explained that to the financial coordinator, who left to speak with the dentist and returned with what was presented as a solution: the treatment would be reduced to $10,000 if I financed it through Cherry at roughly $400 per month, and they encouraged me to begin treatment that same day. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion before moving forward. I returned to my longtime dental office the very next day. They took new X-rays, completed a full examination, and their findings were dramatically different. They told me I had no cavities, my back molar did not need a root canal, my gums were healthy and did not require laser treatment or a deep cleaning, both of my crowns were in good condition, and only one filling would eventually need attention. They also reviewed previous X-rays and told me they believed the tooth that had been extracted may have been salvageable. They have since taken over my care, removed my stitches at no charge, completed my cleaning, and will be handling my implant for significantly less than what I was quoted here, and without mandatory IV sedation. I understand that dentistry can involve differences of professional opinion. However, the contrast between these two treatment plans was so significant that I cannot recommend this office based on my experience. If you are ever presented with an extensive or very expensive treatment plan here, I strongly encourage you to seek a second opinion before making any decisions. It gave me peace of mind, and it may save someone else from going through the emotional stress that I experienced. I do want to give credit where it's due. Every staff member I interacted with was kind, professional, and compassionate. The assistants and front office staff treated me with respect, and I appreciated how friendly everyone was throughout my visits. My review is not about the personalities of the staff, it is about the treatment recommendations and the enormous discrepancy between what I was told I needed and what an independent second opinion found.

For example the doctor told his staff to conduct a CT scan. Never quoted a price. After I was told it cost almost $1000 but that I'd be charged 50% of their earlier lower price (almost $200). And they proceeded to bill my dental insurance the entire nearly $1000 for the imaging (which my insurance denied). I'm scheduled for extraction and implant early next year but when I asked for the cost I was told they need to calculate it and let me know. I'm still waiting 3 weeks later. I like Dr Tassone as a dentist but there have been times from visit to visit that his diagnosis changes. I don't want to change dentists but now getting teeth cleaning elsewhere. I'm aware opinions can change and different dentists offer entirely different treatment options. What I don't appreciate are my dental insurance benefits getting wiped out before I can blink twice. So I had to go back again for them to redo it. When leaving, I needed an implant so I made an appointment and asked if it is covered by insurance. Sure it will be I was told. After waiting months for my appointment, I show up and am handed a bill for $2,500 dollars. What?! And then I was told I didn't have enough on my insurance because of the chipped tooth repair work. I could have waited. Why didn't they tell me this when I asked?! Then I asked why this was so expensive and they said I'm being billed based on my zip code. Great, so they are overcharging me. Also, I needed to sign a form that I understand my dentist is an independent contractor. So they are like stylists at a hair salon renting a chair there? They have a big sign at the front saying how they were voted best this and best that. I wonder how much they paid for those. No way. I will never use them again and I don't recommend them at all.
