I called Dr. Jaksic's office after being referred by an oral surgeon. There was a very miserable woman who answered the phone. I started to explain I was referred to Dr. Jaksic; I am in looking to do my crowns with his office, and would like to set up a cleaning as well. The miserable woman explained Dr.Jaksic is no longer accepting new patients, plus he does not have the time to do the work I need to have done. The miserable women began to tell me they are too busy. I understand the dentist no longer accepts new patients, but there is a better way to handle the situation. This woman was very rude and sounded like she hated her life/job. Dr. Jaksic is one of a kind. In fact, the whole staff is one big family it would seem. It's nothing but professionalism when it comes down to business but the banter back and forth between colleagues is undeniably family-like. The hallway is small and the rooms are close so a conversation could be going on between the furthest rooms, depending on who the customers are. I love it. It really makes you feel comfortable in a what-should-be uncomfortable environment. Dr Jaksic is really nice. He's always laughing and cracking jokes to make you feel comfortable. Really homey guy that is not out to gut your savings. He will not do anything unnecessary just to boost his income. If you don't need a second appointment or even a first, he will be the first to tell you. I have no problem in speaking my mind to him as he does the same in return. Very professional and very easy to get along with. His crew is amazing. Maria, the office manager as i like to call her, is on her game and doesn't let anything slip by. She is super nice in a cool Aunt/Cousin kinda way. I ran into her at a restaurant and she was calling me from a couple of tables over saying hello. Great people. My oral hygienist is the best. She is so friendly and remembers the smallest stories about you so the conversation is very comfortable. She digs in and is very good at her job. Wouldn't trust anybody else. No one likes going to the dentist but unless you want a mouth full of candy corn looking teeth, you should go twice a year. And hey, since you're going anyway, check out Dr. Jaksic's crew. This is the first time I've loved any service enough to care to write a review. Dr. Jaksic is a great dentist and both he and his staff are incredibly nice and competent. I've been going to him for 8yrs. now. I've had regular cleanings, fillings, and one root canal. I was very nervous about my root canal, but at the end of the day I had no pain and my dental health is great. He has so much integrity and skill that I sent my sister to him to have more serious work done. As an undergrad at UCLA she had no dental insurance, but because she had spent 8 years serving our country as a marine, he did a lot of the work pro-bono! And he did it very quietly and graciously. I will never forget that. I recommend Dr. Jaksic to everyone. He'll be my dentist for life. read more

I've been going to Dr.Jaksic since I was about 3, my whole family sees him for all of their dental work. The staff have always and remain amazing, making sure that you're addressed when you walk in and that they get you into a room quickly. Dr. Jaksic always takes the time to explain what it is he will be doing that day and how it will be done. I've never felt like I was in the dark about how my appointment would go, even if something changed because a more prominent issue came up. (Since 1984) He's a very good, honest dentist that will not try to make his boat payment out of your mouth. All the staff has worked for him for years. Peggy, the hygienist, is the best! I want to start with saying Dr. Jaksic is amazing! I have been going to him since I was younger. Most of the staff is wonderful, I love Rosetta (dental hygienist), she is always so great and I look forward to seeing her and the doctor every 6 months. However, Mena (not sure her role in the office) has been VERY unpleasant to work with. My appointment in April was canceled due to COVID-19, completely understandable. I called in May/June to confirm if I had a new appointment and spoke with Mena. When I asked her to confirm my appointment since I didn't know if I was rescheduled, she went off on me. She said "if you don't like it here, the doctor says you can find somewhere else to go" along with other things. Now, keep in mind I literally called to confirm if I had an appointment. THEN, I get a bill for a ortho consult that I was not expecting. I called to pay the bill and Mena answered. I told her who I was and that I wanted to pay my bill. I told her I was surprised I got the bill, but no big deal I'll pay it. Mena proceeds to AGAIN tell me that it seems I am not happy with the dentist and should find somewhere else to go. I was shocked! I am a patient asking for clarification on a charge. I told her I love the doctor and have been going to him for years! Mena then HUNG UP on me. I am now waiting for the doctor to call me as I feel Mena has some personal issue with me. Not sure what it is! I work in customer service and if someone is asking a question, that does NOT give Mena the right to yell and hang up on someone! THIS YELP REVIEW IS INTENDED FOR DR. A night guard was made for me by Dr. Nicholas Jaksic in late 2016 or early 2017 to help me with new TMJ/night grinding/clenching issues and it worked well until it broke about a year later. Instead of making a new one for me, which I found out my dental insurance allows yearly, Dr. Jaksic instead just cut the broken part off and modified it. It then broke again and he did the same as before. Then it cracked after that. The night guard was never replaced with a new one for over 2+ years which caused me more harm than good. It was modified, filed, and adjusted multiple times despite me telling him I was having problems with it not fitting well. It's unfortunate that Dr. Jaksic is so conservative, especially when my dental insurance allows a new night guard yearly. The night guard should have been replaced the first time it broke and every year after that as needed. Because of his refusal to replace the night guard, I had to begin again searching for a new dentist. I really miss my long term dentist that I had for 20+ years; He was excellent and unfortunately retired in late 2014/early 2015. It's been really hard since then trying to find a new dentist to replace him. read more

Dr. Jaksic is fantastic. I just recently moved to San Pedro and needed a dentist. I hadn't been in 2 years because the last dentist told me I needed $15,000 of out of pocket work done after making me wait in his office for FOUR HOURS (Zamanigan, Redondo Beach). I didn't have the money and was terrified to go to the dentist after that. This Dentist and his staff are amazing. He was so personable and honest about my teeth. He said I had some old fillings but he did't want to fix what wasn't broken. I was so relieved to finally find a dentist that wasn't trying to scam me!!!! My hygienist, Peggy, was also fantastic. My first time here today and I was so relaxed! Today I had X-rays and an exam. The staff is welcoming and pleasant. The office is beautiful, modern, clean and lit up! Of course I ran into someone that's a friend of a friend (That's Pedro!!!) and that comforted me even more. By the time Dr Jaksic came to the room I was already happy! He talks to you like you're a long time friend. Easily and comfortably he explained the procedures that need to take place and even took care of me on the financial end because I'm a local independent contractor and I don't have insurance! So, let's recap so far, friendly, check, comfortable, check, professional, check, affordable, check. I go in tomorrow to have my first procedure performed. I arrived for my first procedure around 5 minutes early. Within 60 seconds of being in the lobby, Rosetta came out of the back and called my name. I was blown away. How does she??? She sad that reception recognized me and notified her I had arrived. She was waiting for me. Not the other way around. Brilliant!!! Business first, the procedure went smooth and I'm 100% satisfied with the results. I have a couple more to go and I'm looking forward to them. Yeah, that's right. I just wrote that I'm looking forward to going back to the dentist. Now for the fun. Rosetta! She's awesome! She's so cool to talk to and makes me feel comfortable like I'm her buddy! We were having so much fun chatting about everything. Other girls were coming in to laugh it up with us and were heckling the people in the next room for having such nice teeth. I love this dental office. The people who make it up are spectacular. One last thing. When I arrived for my consultation there was a man in scrubs sweeping the leaves from the front door area.
