PLEASE BE AWARE!!! Dr. David and Dr. Sam are listed everywhere, but they are NOT the ones treating patients. Other doctors (Dr. Jack Howard, Dr. Nakamatsu, Dr. Amini) do the actual work--and they may be out-of-network. If you're coming here because Dr. David shows as "in-network," don't waste your time. I came here FOUR times and not once did anyone tell me the treating doctors were out-of-network. Not during check-in, not during treatment, not even during billing. Every single claim was processed out-of-network. That is completely misleading. Their page highlights Dr. David and Dr. Sam, but conveniently leaves out that other doctors--who aren't covered--are the ones actually working on you. Then they tried charging me $1,367 for a crown, fully knowing it was out-of-network. I have a PPO, which is probably how they get away with this. When I brought it up? The manager just said it was "unfortunate" and apologized that no one told me. That's not a mistake--that's lack of transparency. I had to call my insurance myself to figure out what was going on. Bottom line: VERIFY who is treating you and their network status BEFORE you agree to anything. Don't assume anything just because the office appears in-network. read more

Dr. AMINI diagnosed me with 6 (SIX) cavities and one tooth needing a root canal then crown and I was also told that I need a "deep" cleaning. I had a SECOND OPINION and guess what? I don't have cavities and I just need a regular cleaning. I SHOULD HAVE READ THE "ONE STAR" REVIEWS FIRST before going to WASHINGTON DENTAL in Lomita. After I read the reviews, I called back to make sure they're not going to charge the insurance since they said the exam and xrays are free and said they won't charge the insurance. I am going to have this dental clinic be investigated. Dr. Amini who saw me is not like the other dentist I've encountered. She barely looked at my mouth (about 3 seconds - I know, I was counting) and she was able to diagnosed a lot of things. I have dentists in my family and unfortunately they are VERY far from me - to which I ended up doing for a SECOND OPINION regarding the cavities/needing a root canal/crown. When I was going there for orthodontic treatment, I never had a problem with anything. When management changed, some of the workers left. The last dental cleaning I had (about 6 months ago) i was assigned to a lady that felt like she had butchered my gums by the time she was done with the treatment. I'm not sure if she was the same hygienist that did my cleaning recently. This time, she seemed nice at first, but I started sensing some annoyance when I began expressing some discomfort. Mind you, I pre-warned her and requested to apply numbing gel on my gums/teeth as I have some sensitive areas. She applied them a couple of times when it wore off on some areas, which I appreciated. If it was the same woman as before, this time she was gentle with the cleaning. She even stopped the machine that shoots out water (used to clean plaque off). Then the polishing came around.. I kept pulling away because of once again.. the sensitivity hit... then the polisher began rubbing on my lower left lip. I said it out lout that it's rubbing on my lip (no apologies from her). It left a red mark on my lower lip, btw... She just continued and kept shoving the polisher where the sensitive areas were even if my body language showed I was uncomfortable. Finally, halfway through she asked me if I was ok and if I wanted to stop. I politely said yes, because it hurts. I def miss the Asian hygienist... she was so sweet and gentle. please bring her back! read more

I originally came in after my previous dental office told me that both of my kids had cavities. Washington Dental took new X-rays and confirmed that neither of my children had any cavities at all. I can't even explain the relief I felt--and I truly appreciate the honesty and thoroughness of this office. A huge thank-you to Yesenia, DA, who was incredibly kind, patient, and proficient. She made both my kids and myself feel completely at ease during our visit. Richelle, DA was also amazing--very informative, professional, and extremely nice. She helped explain everything clearly and even guided me in making the best decision regarding Invisalign. I felt genuinely supported, not pressured. At the front desk, Brianna was so welcoming and pleasant. She created such a friendly first impression and made check-in absolutely seamless. Just an AWFUL experience at the Lomita Branch. My original review is no longer up. I have no idea why. It was not a nice review. It appears that any negative review is removed, as there were several ones last time I looked I was charged for a procedure that I never had done Now the bank that they sign you up with in order to get work done, is demanding payment for the services that were NEVER done. I refuse to be a victim of FRAUD I am in contact with the State Dental Board and they told me they would be investigating this office. The front office people are sweet and charming but I just don't know what might be going on behind the scenes. Don't go here! They overbook. They get everything wrong. They book you in for a deep cleaning and when you get there they can't do it. Waited 2 hours last appointment in August.
