I am NOT a fan of door to door sales at all, however, when Moxie came to my door and offered a free inspection for rats, I accepted as I had seen evidence of possible rat droppings in my attic when changing filters. Brandon C. stopped by the next day to do inspection. I witnessed the inspection, including pictures of findings. We discussed what needed to be done, and agreed on price and schedule. As an 80 year old veteran, Brandon offered vets discount which I of course appreciated. Two days later the father/son team of Obdulio Garcia sr and jr showed up with everything needed. They completely evacuated attic, fogged with insecticide and installed new treated insulation. The job was completed in a little more than one day. Brandon followed up to ensure I was happy with results. Although it seems very expensive, material and labor could not have cheap when you consider what was done, and material costs. read more

One guy has been creeping around our neighborhood off and on and absolutely ignores no soliciting signs, laughed at those pointing out his behavior and outright lied to me about my neighbor signing up with Moxie. He had apparently ignored my neighbors "don't ring the bell" sign and they have a baby! He came to my house twice and kept ringing the bell while I was in a meeting. I finally opened the door and said please stop I'm in a meeting and instead of apologizing and leaving he said "Justin said you'd want to talk to me" and "I'll just take a minute". No. Go away. I would never do business with Moxie based on this behavior alone. Get a grip guys, this behavior pisses people off, it doesn't induce them to use your services. read more

The service itself may be fine, but the communication around scheduling was frustrating. When I signed up, the salesperson repeatedly told me they were going to "break the 30-day life cycle" of the bugs in my yard. Based on that, I expected the first few visits to be scheduled within about 30 days of each other. After my first treatment, I noticed the next appointment was scheduled almost six weeks later. I called customer service and was first told that as long as they came out within three months, it was fine because that's their normal service schedule. Then, after looking at my account and seeing I was set up for monthly service, I was told that as long as they came out sometime in the next calendar month, it was also fine. I mentioned what the salesperson had told me, and the representative offered to move the appointment up. What I never got a clear answer on was whether the timing actually mattered. If six weeks is perfectly fine, then that's fine. I was looking for a consistent explanation instead of getting different answers depending on who I was talking to and whether they thought I was on a quarterly or monthly service schedule. The whole interaction left me unsure whether I was being given accurate information in the first place. read more

Drink On The Job. We found a 1 quart beer bottle in a paper bag in our attic after they replaced our insulation due to rodent damage. How do we know? Because they were dumb enough (and drunk enough, I guess) to leave their trash. It was right next to the attic entrance, so we would have noticed it before, and they're the only ones that have been in our attic in the past few years. And there were 2 technicians, which means they either have 2 employees that day-drink at work, or one and another that doesn't care. I'm sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision. Moxie Pest Control performed a free attic inspection at my home on 12/9/25 and immediately told me I had a severe mouse infestation. I was told the only option was a $12,000 attic insulation removal and replacement. No traps were placed, no testing was done, and no attempt was made to confirm the severity of the issue before presenting this recommendation. Concerned, I scheduled three additional inspections the following day. All confirmed there was no infestation, no urine, no odor, and no major damage, just minimal evidence that required basic trapping. The experience caused significant emotional distress and resulted in two lost workdays while I tried to sort out what I believed was an urgent and costly situation. I was also alarmed to learn that a loan application had been started without my authorization. I got tired of all the FREE inspection solitations and went to cancel and they hit me with a hugh cancellation fee and without my authorization charged my credit card. During that month they: -were late for 2 appointments -tried showing up at 9:30PM -could never give me a time when they'd be there. Pretty much "whenever they showed up" - When the first spray didn't help they could only come out again in 2 weeks (when they wanted to come at 9:30pm) -and they were late another time when I told them they could come for a termite inspection. Very scammy. Dont ever do the termite base stations. the salesmen aren't honest about how it works. You will pay 2000$ for an installation fee and will automatically be set up on a refill schedule which they also don't tell you about. The refills cost me $540. yearly. Oh and if you cancel it after a surprise charge they will come to your house to rip out the base stations. That huge amount is for an install fee only. you own nothing. They only refilled two stations. The monthly pest protection is very poor. never got rid of the American cockroaches. I constantly see all kinds of bugs still. Theyll also reschedule your requested maintenance time without any communication and add you in on a day you're unavailable and you end up having to wait weeks to be seen again. When I have a no solicitation sign on my door, regardless of your permit, this sign means do not solicit on my property. Furthermore, when I advised your reps to leave my property after they knocked and banged on my door repeatedly, they still tried to pitch me. During installation, the installers broke my a light fixture. Stuff happens, I'm not mad at installers. But Moxie has taken three months to fix it. I'm still waiting. Do not use this service. She has lung cancer and they told her the rat feces she was breathing in through the vents was terrible for her situation. I immediately called 2 other companies to come look and both said there were no rats...none. These moxie scammers even showed my mother pictures on the iPad of rats and feces and burrow holes. Absolutely Crooked Company Came door-to-door and showed me there was a rat infestation in my attic, which I was happy for, but then several lies about the service: (1) Told me could do a tax writeoff for 30% of the cost, but didn't cap the cost at what the government actually allows, up to 1200 per year, so I thought the cost would be cheaper than it was. (2) When I complained about this first problem, got the runaround for weeks until I got busy enough that I didn't have time for it any more. (3) Told me warranty would be good for 100 years, but then when I call later in the year to get a reinspection, they said I had to charge them again. Avoid this company like the plague. read more

Very dissatisfied with the services given by moxie pest control. I currently have an account with moxie. They performed services about 2 weeks ago to remove wasps nest located on my back porch. While the wasp nest was removed and the specific area was treated, the wasps built new nests in the same day about a foot away from the previous nest. The next day I called to schedule another appointment. I had to wait another week before they would come treat the new nests. The technician did call, however, I was at a work function. I called him back immediately once I saw his call. He informed me that he only treated the front of the house. He stated the notes that dispatch wrote said nothing about the back of the house. He also mentioned he was too far out to turn back around, so I would have to schedule another appointment. Overall not a great experience. I will be calling them again tomorrow. It is highly likely I will terminate the services. read more

Horrible service in nearly every way besides the chemical that every other company uses to keep bugs away. Which they showed up to our door, doing door to door sales. To start we got their service to keep bugs out. Which was fine. But we have dogs and the person who comes to service will not be able to go in the backyard without the dogs being put away. So we kindly requested Moxie to give notice in advance and it should be standard for a service provider that comes to someone's property give at least 24 hours notice or even a few days notice prior to just showing up. Also the point of us paying "you,"this company is to request you by appointment upon our own convenience. 100% of the time they always would should up without at least 24 hours notice. So the person would come and service only the from yard and put in the report that the service had been complete. It would not be in the slightest. What do we pay the fees for if you're just going to not do your job? What a scam. Then like every other type of service now a days they offer termite deflection. Which they put stakes in the ground around your property. That was a nightmare. They're not professional at all. Moxie uses some unqualified person in their company to come out and drill into the ground. The person that came out didn't even ask or have a ground layout of our property. So when he was drilling he hit our irrigation system pipes causing a high water bill. It then took forever to get them to come fix the mistake! We have a brand new house and they ruined our perfectly brand new pipes. They did a patch job at that. Because it was the cheapest option. Along with as I mentioned they used their own worker to fix the pipe the first guy drilled into (unqualified). We would have wanted the full pipe replaced so that the would be no water leakage or at least have it repaired by a professional plumbing/irrigation company. To this day I don't believe the leak is completely solved. We haven't ran the sprinkler system the same since. Such a shame dealing with Moxie's unprofessional service and people. They're not qualified. Along with terrible service. PLEASE READ THE CONTRACT. MY SPOUSE DID NOT READ THE CONTRACT FULLY and with the TERMITE SERVICE once you pay the $3,000 they will want you to pay $500 every year for them to check on the stakes. The whole time we had the stakes they never came to check on them. We did not want to pay $500 every year after paying $3,000 in just a short 3 months to keep from paying interest on the full amount owed for the initial installation of the termite stakes. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO PAY $5OO every year like a subscription then THEY WILL COME TO YOUR HOUSE AND REMOVE THE TERMITE STAKES THAT YOU PAID $3,000 FOR. PLEASE DO NOT USE MOXIE AS A PEST PROVIDER. THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE AND A NIGHTMARE. We will have to get a professional to come out and fix our pipes if we want the worry free experience that we initially had when we bought the house. Our house at the time was brand new built, no one lived in prior to this horrific experience with our irrigation system. Bad business. I would highly suggest if you have a pest control prevention provider to read everything and make sure you choose a provider that sets appointments up in advance rather than coming out to your property at their most convenient timing. Our experience with Moxie was a joke from our first scheduled service when a tech said submitted that our service was completed, but we have video evidence confirming they were never here. Next service , the tech submitted all of the areas that were covered, to include our attic , crawl space , the interior of our home and the back yard. None of which they had access to. With the exception of ONE visit and ONE honest technician, EVERY SINGLE TECH submitted areas that were never treated. Why lie? Since our last service and taking pest control into our own hands, we've had more success treating our home and property with pesticides and insecticides that we've purchased ourselves. Moxie never helped eradicate or even LESSEN the amount bugs, spiders or insects around the home or on the property even with "warranty services" between treatments. She agreed to use this company just "once" without realizing that we were now locked in a one-year contract. I had a young door to door salesman stop by. He used all the sales tactics that are taught and I was impressed that he was intent on closing the sale. It takes courage and tenacity to push through rejection. The contract was plain and there is a "cancel order" document you can send if you change your mind within a few days. All the information is emailed to you there on the spot. The service man, John, came out the next day on time. I was in updated through the entire process. I was also impressed at the knowledge of this young man and his hard work. Even though he was there to service, he was also very pleasant and easy to talk with.
